Inside Noise
by: Anonymous    On: 2004-07-02

I received this camcorder for Christmas. I have always had a noise coming from the inside of the camcorder. In the beginning the noise wasnt that noticeable. But over time the noise had gotten louder. I used the recommended cleaning tapes, but didnt seem to work. According to the manual, theres the possibility of the video head being worn. The repair will cost to much to fix. I have a friend with the same camcorder, and hers is broke also. The only difference between the two, is mine will still record, but the noise is louder, and hers wont record at all. There are a lot better choices than this camcorder.

With two boys starting on the varsity basketball team here in Roberts, Montana, this camera has been GREAT! Good, clear picture and easy to handle. MUCH better than my old one! Thanks!

Cool Cam

This camera is so fun, not to mention affordable! It is light, durable (Ive even dropped it a few times) and totally easy to use. I take it everywhere. Be sure to get extra batteries though because they wear out before you know it.
not long lasting

My Sharp viewcam broke about 6 months after the 1 year warranty. I loved the ease of the camera, but now it would cost me more to repair it than it was to buy it. I took great care of the camera and used it often to film my new baby. One day I tried to watch a tape I recorded a day before and the tape got stuck in the camera and wouldnt do anything! I would absolutely shop around with other brands before buying this Sharp product.

ITS EAZY

In response to who has trouble hooking up to the VCR I found it to be so easy I was impressed. find the right yellow and white audio and video input jacks hook it up and the other end to the camcorder. If you have a cable box change the set to aux-in from the tv menu. turn the camcorder on and use the remote control for the camcorder and you are set. Mine is very easy.
Sharp Viewcam is great, but how do I show tapes on my TV!

Love my viewcam that my sister got me for my new baby. Going to get her one in return. The style is terrific for filming my baby while she can still interact with me. But Ive been frustrated with the directions for play back of tapes on my TV. Is this a problem for everyone, or just me!

I just recieved my viewcam in the mail. I was pleased with how light it is, How easy to use and how fun it is to use. I decieded I would like another battery, I heard they dont last that long. I was really surprised when I read the review from West Bradford. If he only used 6 cassetts and it broke beyond repair and his waranty is up, that means he only used 6 cassetts in one year, because their is a one year warranty. I find that hard to believe. I think Westbradford needs to review his waranty, and/or make sure he or she did not drop this viewcam and is upset that they wont fix it. Should have bought the extra warranty.
Great Camcorder!

Although the battery tends to run down quickly, the ease of use and features make this a great deal. I really like being able to review the video just shot, and using the camera is non-intrusive. I record my sons soccer games and dont have to have my eye "glued" to a viewfinder.

Unreliable and poorly made

I am very unhappy with my Sharp Viewcam. After only 6 cassettes of movies, it is broken beyond repair. It simply stopped working and the repair shop said it would cost too much to fix. Unfortunately, the warranty expired so Im at a total loss. I will never buy another Sharp product in my life.
Perfect, except for the battery life

The best thing about the Sharp ViewCam camcorders -- all of them -- is that they allow you to record family events while still taking part in them. With the camera discreetly held at waist level rather than in front of your face, you can still be a part of the conversation. People find it less intimidating, too, so they tend to behave more naturally. You can also flip the LCD 180 degrees, and record yourself.

The only downside is that the LCD sucks up batteries, so buy a spare set.

Perfect camcorder for anyone especially if you wear glasses!

I have had my Camcorder for 2 months and just love it. It is so easy to use and fun to instantly review your video with sound. This price is great and lot cheaper than department stores. People stop me wherever I go to take a look at my Camcorder and want to know where they can buy one. It is perfect for anyone who has trouble looking through the old type Camcorder and trying to squint your eyes to see. You just point and shoot with this camera!
