This portable mini-disc player is an excellent all around player. I already own a recorder so I currently use this one to carry around with me. Its very small and thin, and and comes with a very good remote with a backlight. The sound quality is great and the volume goes as high as anyone would need. by: Anonymous On: 2000-01-17
I had the Sony MZ-E33. And I must say this Awia kicks it butt ! First, it has 40 sec EAS shock memory, Backlit Lcd Remote, Rechargable battery w/ 8hr playback, Charger,Smallest w/ the exception of sonys mz 55 (399-) and I bought it for 129- @ The Wiz. Great Deal. It also has an additional battery pack for AC Adaptor and disposable battery, while combined w/ supplied rechargable yields 21 hr playback. This unit doesnt skip and plays titles by random, repeat, program, modes. I am very happy w/ it. On: 2000-01-16

I have owned - the MZ-e33 and it is terrible. It broke 3 xs and skipped like a maniac. After several tests, while running, I couldnt get the MZ-e33 to not skip. I used bubble wrap, fastend it on my arm, held in my hand, and still this low quality player continued to skip. So, loving the format, I decided to buy the Awia HX30. 30- cheaper, 20% smaller, rechargeable battery, lcd display, 40 sec shock memory, higher quality metal, sturdier mechanism, and, bu the way, twice the sound quality. Only negative is, I dont like the swoop head phones and you have to take the battery out to charge. by: Anonymous On: 1999-12-19
THE Aiwa AM-HX30 Portable Minidisc is a great pick up. The portable player hardly ever skips with a 40 second electronic skip protection. It is so small that you can put it pretty much anywhere. i would recomend this player to anyone who wants a player that is smaller than a potable cd player with better sound quality On: 1999-12-18

I just purchased my aiwa am-hx30 minidisc player from the wiz, and I absolutely love it!! I bought this minidisc player because Im a music fanatic and Im always making music mixes. So after researching on the internet which minidisc is the best, I chose aiwas model. In my opinion, I think aiwa products are even better than sony products. The appearance and most importantly the quality of sound is fantastic!! For anyone who is looking for the best digital sound in their music mixes, I recommend you buy this product. You will not regret it!! On: 1999-11-03

This potable unit is great! +s : sound quality is better than any Sony, 21 hours worth of playback time (1 A combined w/ rechargeable), super small and lightweight, nice factory-supplied swoop headphones, complete programming capability. -s: control buttons a little small, must remove battery from the unit in order to recharge, takes a little longer than Sony mds when skipping from one track to another. Overall, a teriffic product! On: 1999-10-18

I found the Awia player to be a very good deal for such a good quality player. The sound quality is good, at least equal with the Sony and Panasonic players. The player is very small and seems to be of good build quality. It is probably the best you can buy for the price. On: 1999-10-10

This unit is the best MD player I own to date. I had a sharp 302, a sony mz-e33...both were too bulky. The sound quality is good as well, even for the most picky listeners. The only other player I want to try is the Panasonic J70 (the smallest yet). So, yes, buy this unit...but you can probably find a better pricing on the net. On: 1999-09-17
