There are few small stereo speakers on the market. I got these for use with a cheap stereo in cramped quarters, and they are perfect for my needs. On: 2008-05-02
I bought these to mount under my deck for some outdoor tunes and they work great! Sure they dont have the deep bass that you might expect from expensive indoor speakers, but at this price they do they job perfectly. They have already been through several rain storms here in Georgia and continue to work fine. Highly recommended! On: 2008-04-23
They do a good job. I put them below my deck and they have worked very wellfor two years. Great sound. I would buy them again. Great bargain for the price. On: 2008-03-28
I usually purchase a different LS product but decided to try the 100s this time. The quality is better and the price is less expensive.Great speakers for the price. On: 2007-08-31
I wanted to add some sound to our Kawasaki Mule (which is like a 4wd gas powered golf cart). I didnt want to build a speaker box for regular car speakers so I decided to try some smaller outdoor speakers. I hooked a pair of these up to a lower end Kenwood 4x50 watt car stereo/CD/mp3 player. These speakers sound great. Ive had them for about a month now and they handle the rough, dusty roads on our place without any problem. They seem pretty well made. On: 2007-08-03
Bought 2 pair for an outdoor screened porch for $30 per pair. They sound great, were easy to mount, and oh so inexpensive! Weve had some gatherings and the sound has been plenty and when sitting out quiet, it sounds great too.
For the porch setup, I also purchased a stereo receiver (Sherwood) for $85. My main goal was to allow radio play and to use an iPod as source for the screened porch. Well, the sound is great (nice lows and can even blast all the neighbors), the components were cheap (except the iPod) and I can feel okay leaving the receiver outdoors (out of direct rain path, but definitely gets plenty of dust and humidity.) These speakers are terrific for the price - we have them in our golf cart hanging from the rear of the cover and they sound terrific. They are just what I wanted and we listen to them quite often and love the sound. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a good sounding outdoor speaker On: 2007-07-08
dont expect these to sound like $500 Hi-Fi speakers. But they do the job, seem sturdy and well made, and sound pretty decent. im happy with em.

For the price, they cant be beat. If you just want a little background music while youre reading on the deck, these are the ticket. This is the second pair of these that Ive bought, and the 1st pr. lasted 3 yrs. through rain, wind, and any other weather that Upstate NY can throw at them. by: agpike99 On: 2007-05-17
For the cheap cheap price, these speakers work as good as needed and sound decent. They do what they need to do and did I say they were cheap?! by: godoggo On: 2007-01-23
Bought these two years ago and they are still going strong. We love south of Buffalo, NY so the weather is not always favorable. These speakers stay outside in rain and wind and they sound the same every time I turn the music on. A great pair of speakers! On: 2007-01-22

I puchased the LS 100s to get a decent speaker for a great price. I was disappointed. I knew the bass response would not be astonding but it was almost non existant. The midrange and the highs are scratchy.
I would not recommend the speakers for anything other than talk radio. by: Anonymous On: 2007-01-11
I put these speakers in my garage, they sound great. Im not sure I would recommend them for home theater speakers, but they are great for a little music outside. Im considering getting a second set for my porch. by: Anonymous On: 2007-01-05
I installed these under my travel trailer (remove them from the brackets during transport) and have been the envy of our camping group since. The sound quality and durability far exceed my expectations. I plan to order some for my backyard at home. On: 2007-01-03
I bought these after reading reviews .I dont think they sound as good as some said they did. However I am satisfied with them for what I use them for ,background music on patio. For the money I didnt expect Bose quality. On: 2006-11-24
These speakers are very good especially for the price. I can use them outdoors when the weather is nice and I havent had any problems with them so far. They are definitely useful and I highly recommend them. by: lighten_up_already2 On: 2006-11-12
Ive owned a pair of these speakers for several years. I have been and continued to be amazed at the sound quality these very cheap speakers provide. They are part of my budget "home theater" system in my bedroom, the other components being a 1970s Pioneer receiver, a five year old Pioneer DVD player, and a Samsung 16" CRT TV. Theater on a budget!
Several years ago, I was taking some very nice used bookshelf speakers back to a hi-fi store to trade them in on larger speakers. Just for fun I wired one of these beautiful little wooden speakers to one channel of the Pioneer receiver and one of these Audio Source speakers to the other channel. Then I moved the balance from left to right and back a few times to see what the difference was in the sound. I was amazed to find I could not hear a significant difference in the sound!
Anyway, Ive enjoyed going to sleep to jazz on FM radio, and watching DVDs with the sound coming through these speakers, for several years now. It makes me wonder if all the hype about expensive speakers and specs in the hi fi world is just a load of...well, you know.

Our department of Engineering purchased several of these to use with electrical engineering lab experiments. We have been impressed with the clear sound quality and the price is excellent. More than adequate for a basic sound system. On: 2006-08-19
We are very happy with our purchase of AudioSource LS100 speakers. Very good quality for the price and our purchase went very smoothly with timely delivery. On: 2006-08-18

clear sound, no problems with installation, very satisfied with it.
I dont have too much sound quality requirements, but the sound is very clear. On: 2005-10-12
Ive had these speakers for about one month now and have them mounted outside over my deck. Thery are located under the eve and after two significant rain storms they still sound great. And even at only 50w they not only fill the deck, but also my smaller sized yard with sound. The mounts work well. I also have an outdoor volume control between the speakers and the receiver inside. The whole set-up is working wonderfully, and these speakers sound great for the price. On: 2005-08-11
With the Amazon credit card $30.00 rebate, these speakers cost me $3.99. They were easy to install, look great and the sound is not bad for around the pool. If you are looking for gereat sound quality, go ahead and pay the Bose prices. For an affordable, decent sounding pair of speakers, choose these. On: 2005-08-10
I put this pair of speakers outside on the right side of my garage facing my backyard....and boy does it produce nice sound. I placed it up under the roofline so it would stay a little drier. I live in rainy Houston, we have had 4 or 5 heavy rainstorms and the speakers are still working just fine. This pair was a great price, arrived very quickly, and sounds just fine. Buy it and save money. On: 2005-08-08
You cannot beat this product for the price. I was looking for a simple solution to keep my wife from moving the surround speakers outside. The sound is not as good as my indoor surround speakers, but what can you expect for the price. I have them hooked into my B speakers of my surround sound system and they are loud enough to bother the neighbors! On: 2005-08-03
I read really good reviews of these speakers except for a general opinion that the mounting bracket is flimsy, which gave me pause. Well, I am completely satisfied with these speakers, on all accounts. I concede that the mounting bracket is flimsy as shipped, however, its solid once affixed to the speaker. I highly recommend these speakers. On: 2005-07-09
I bought this speakers in 2004 and installed them outside in my patio. They still sound great and dont even look like they have been outside. The are covered by part of the roof so they are not directly exposed to sun/rain. On: 2005-06-16
I bought these speakers for my pool deck (I live in Florida). I mounted them to my stucco-covered walls using toggle bolts to attach the included brackets. These little speakers look great, and really have decent bass response considering their size. [It probably helped they were mounted in corners.]
I am greatly disappointed by the rusting of the metal face, though. They have only been out for about six months and the mesh cover is already rusting. Outdoor speakers should not have this issue - stainless or galvanized steel should have been used for the mesh and then painted.
I would rate these four stars for sound, but only three because of the poor weathering. On: 2005-06-15

Sure these are not the worlds greatest speakers. Yes the bass is a little low, but you are only paying thirty something dollars. For the price the speakers are amazing, they have some good volume before they distort and they have better bass than all the leading name brands that run one to two hundred dollars. I put a pair of Inifinity Outdoors in a side by side comparison and actually had better bass output from the audiosource. So I took the Inifinitys back and had enough money to buy a 300 disc cd changer and money left over to buy an extra pairs of audiosource speakers for the garage and more on the deck.
I would recommond these speakers to anyone who wants good sound quality outside at a cheap price. If you are looking for surround sound speakers, then look elsewhere. On: 2004-11-18
Ok... Thunderous, symphonic sound is not what were shooting for here. How about just some decent, cost-conscious, weather-resistent speakers that dont sound like sawing trumpets. These fit the bill. Not a lot of juice to pester the neighbors, but good enough for the regular user to listen on the porch/patio. 5 star value, but really only a 4 star for output quality. No word yet on weather-proof(osity), but Ive had them for 6 months durning summer rains, and theyre still working like day 1. On: 2004-11-17

I was impressed with these little speakers. I admit they seem to be a little plastiky, but they provide good sound in my yard. Outdoor speakers dont last very long anyway and these are a bargain. On: 2004-10-05

For the money, I am recommending these speakers to everyone I know. They sound great and get plenty loud. No, they wont knock your socks off with bass, but I am really impressed with the clarity of the sound. On: 2004-07-13

These speakers work ok, and handle lots of power, but the sound reproduction is not very good. They are supposed to be three-way speakers, but the higher notes like cymbals arent there, and compared to my $50 Jensens in the basement, these speakers sound like a very cheap boombox. I realize that these are very low-price speakers, but I bought them because the rave reviews made me think I was going to get something as good as my relatively cheap Jensens. Usually with a 2-way or a 3-way speaker, you can put your ear in front of the tweeter and hear all the highs, but Im not sure the tweeters are even functional. That said, the cases are reasonable quality and it comes with nice mounting brackets and I will keep them. But they were not the bargain I was hoping for. On: 2004-06-12
I bought these speakers for my backyard.I was very happy with the sound. Im run them with a little 50 watt amp. they sound great for the price.I was very pleased, I looked at speakers in 50watt range. I was looking at $75.00 price tag.If your looking for tons of bass this speaker not for you.The price and sound a good deal. On: 2004-05-26
I am not a hardcore audiophile, but these speakers are the ish! These speakers are a very good deal. I bought these because i needed some rears as the jvc sattellites that came with my setup were kind of weak. Based upon hearing these at a friends house and reading the wonderful reviews i took the bait, and am so far enjoying them to the max. buy them worth every penny On: 2003-12-28
We were moving and didnt want to leave the Bose 161 speakers (that I had installed in every room of our home.) I looked for speakers that were less expensive to leave in their place, and took a chance on these Audio Source LS 200 speakers based upon the reviews here in Amazon.com. Although the reviews were good, one doesnt expect "real" quality at this price. You cannot imagine our surprise at the quality of the sound these speakers reproduced! They are not as spacial as the Bose but their dynamic and acoustic range is excellent. Like the Bose they fall off rapidly below about 80Hz but are very linear up to the audible limits. (If you want more bass add a sub-woofer.) On: 2003-12-27

Great speaker for the money. Placed a pair in my kitchen and under eave on my deck. If you are looking to rattle the windows with bass, these are not the speakers for you. You could probably work a sub-woofer in with them and really punch it up a notch. Mounting brackets and connection clips were a little on the cheap side but they work fine and its a small sacrifice for the savings. They seem to handle the weather fairly well if you place them in semi-protected areas. Overall, pretty good deal for the money. On: 2002-11-27
To be perfectly honest, I wasnt expecting much for spending so little. However, I am very pleased with the sound. My original intent was to provide "background music" on our new screened in porch, however, after hooking them up, I find myself cranking up the volume to enjoy the music as if in my den. Deducted one star only because the mounting bracket seems a bit flimsy. On: 2002-10-23
I mounted them under my eaves and they work great. I thought because they were so cheap that the sound would be cheap, but they sound great and have worked fine after a few rain storms. by: Anonymous On: 2002-09-11
For the price they cant be beat! I shopped at BestBuy and CicuitCity and found that Id have to spend 2 to 3 times as much for comparable sounding outdoor speakers. These speakers were easy to mount with the included free mounting brackets. The speakers are efficient(Ive mounted 2 pairs on my large screened porch and my amplifier is a relatively low powered unit).Sound is decent but not like youd expect from more expensive bookshelf speakers in your den or living room. Expect the base to be weakest aspect of these speakers. The speakers can be powered to pretty high sound levels before noticable distortion. Considering the price Ive not seen anything else that can touch these speakers at this price point. On: 2002-09-10

Thougth I was paying per speaker, nice surprise a PAIR of TERRFIC sounding speakers at a TERRIFIC price! On: 2001-12-19
I live in the desert and the summer heat is pretty tough on things like this. If I can get a couple of years out of these, Ill be happy as they are pretty inexpensive. I mounted these to my stucco house with the provided brackets. I used cement anchors, purchased elsewhere, and they are secure. As far as audio quality goes, they are lacking in the low end department. If you have a good quality "boom-box," that will give you a good idea of how they sound from a tonal perspective. Since you will be hooking these up to a stereo receiver, you should get a much louder output than a "boom-box." I still give them a four as they are nice looking, seem of good quality, and good enough to hear while frolicking in the pool or sizzling meat on the grill. On: 2001-08-29
I was looking for something inexpensive to use on my patio. I found these speakers and was a bit reluctant to get them, due to the fact any other good speakers I found was ... and upward. But, for the price and my brother telling me about KLH, I tried these and I am so impressed! I LOVE them! I have them hooked up to my JVC stereo and I am not at all disappointed. In fact, I plan to get more to put around my house and yard. If you looking for a good thing at a bargain price, get these. On: 2001-07-23
These speakers are a great buy. I mounted them using the provided mounting brackets in the ceiling of a screened in porch. Installation of two speakers was about twenty minutes. I was concerned about the bass response, but was pleasantly surprised. These speakers compete well with models costing four or five times as much. On: 2001-06-09
I was truly surprised at the quality of sound that these little indoor/outdoor speakers deliver.... There is nothing cheap about these except for the price. They have good bass for their size, and the midrange and highs were very open and crystal clear. I have had much more expensive speakers that dont sound this good. If you have the need for a speaker like this, do yourself a favor and try a set of these out:) On: 2001-06-08

The Audio Source LS200 speakers sound great. I have owned several sets of 2 / 3 way bookshelf models by various high-end / esoteric manufacturers, and these are the best sounding compact 3 ways Ive ever heard. Theyre not real efficient (85db), so I thought it fair to knock off one point for that. Very ascetically pleasing, however the included mounting brackets are flimsy. The five-year transferable warranty was a nice surprise. I would recommend these speakers to anyone for surround / small area fill. Im pleased with my purchase. On: 1999-11-13
