The reason i found that the speakers sound really heavy and boomy in the low end is directly due to the fact that theyre 12" speakers especially if the amplifier thats running them isnt of good quality. I have set up quite a few systems for people and have had nothing but bad reviews for 12" woofers (subwoofers excluded) versus Excellent reviews for 10" woofers. They seem to throw a punch like none other.
