We use these speakers out by the pool. This is the third season with them and they sound just as good as the day I bought them!!! Would highly recommend.

I bought these speakers to replace the speakers on an old but good Panasonic stereo. I wanted to move furniture around and by getting these speakers I was able to wall-mount them. I am very happy with the sound quality and they really have added to my enjoyment of my stereo. The sound is very clear and they have served my purpose very well. A good buy in my opinion.

First the virtues: 1. Easy to connect good size wiring to these. 2. They are good, functional all weather speakers. 3. The sound is not terrible.
Now the Vices: 1. The wall mount hardware goes on and off easily enough, but the brackets block the very essential input terminals and sound switch on the back. Totally frustrating when actually mounting and wiring the speakers! Its as if idiots designed this...no one who actually had to mount these outside (on a ladder, usually!) would ever want to contend with this awkward affair where one must twist and crane and Quasimodo oneself in order to route and mount the wiring.
2. Music played through these speakers will impress only those unfortunate souls who have suffered hearing loss or who are used to listening to inexpensive boom-boxes. Wait, some boom-boxes actually have more low frequency punch than these speakers. But they are waterproof.
3. I would have paid more for a wireless version of these. At the time I was searching, I could not find any wireless outdoor speakers, except the giant green mushroom style ones that are supposed to hide in a garden...and really, I might have gone there, but how can one camoflage a giant green mushroom that looks like plastic? Thats ridiculous stealth, and I for one would rather just admit to the world that the outdoor speakers are...well...you know...speakers.
So, as you can see, the virtues and vices balance out in the end, and so I think the rating of 3 out of 5 is fair. They are priced about where they should be, and likely will last years, so long as one does not believe that they are rock concert monitors and blast them to death with more than maybe 60 Watts or so. I put automatically resetting circuit breakers in series with the signal, so, in the event of too much of a good thing, they will protect the speakers. I would not exceed .7 amperes of current on the fuse or autobreakers. Oh, and for the dimwits who tagged these speakers, let me be totally clear: THEY ARE NOT WIRELESS!

These speakers have been outdoors (but out of the rain) for a year now, with temperatures below zero and near 100, high humidity, birds nesting on them, even spiders trying to get inside to nest. They still sound fine.

I purchased these speakers for my outdoor patio, which is where my Jacuzzi is. I get in the Jacuzzi everyday and wanted to connect a pair of speakers to my bedrooms home theater system, which allegedly pumps out 125 watts per channel...although I seriously doubt it is quite that high. At any rate, these speakers are perfect for the task, especially given the price. Sure I could have bought a more "hi-fi" speaker pair, but these are outdoor speakers and with the Jacuzzi running, etc. the application is not meant to be "serious" listening. Ive had them for about 6 months, and they have stood up just fine, and they sound great. They dont have super bass, but I suspect that is because my surround system has a sub and they dont get the lows. Considering the price, would buy them again and again. FYI...impedance on these is 4 ohms...I was concerned because I didnt want to damage my surround sound system which has 4 ohm speakers and these were rated at 4-8 ohms. I put these on an A/B switch on my surround sound system so that I could turn on and off my outside speakers and also so that I wouldnt screw up my system by having improper impedance. When I put my ohm meter on them, they measured at exactly 4 ohms. So now I just switch my system to stereo mode, and turn my A/B switch to B and play the outside speakers only (with sub of course - but it is in my bedroom). When I am done outside, I turn the switch back to A (the original front speakers), and switch the system back into surround mode, and all 5 speakers are on.

These speakers are as good as my BOSE outdoor speakers at less than half the price. The sound is rich and clear with no distortion typical of outdoor speakers. Very good value.

Wow i was really suprised when I received a pair of these speakers. They are a little bigger then I expected, but that really didnt matter to me. So far i have had them for about 4 months.
I only put up one right now because thats all i really needed after listening to the quality. It seems that the Audio is a little louder out of these then my speakers hooked up to my surround sound. I have one jensen on my patio, and hooked up to a toggle switch so i can turn it on and off while BBQing or just haveing fun.
It has been great for me and i enjoy them very much. I am planning on putting the other one in my garage, and still hook it to my surround sound from my living room.
All in all very good speakers.

I needed 6 sets of speakers for background music in a historic hotel that I was refurbishing. These speakers really fit the bill. Excellent tone and range provides coverage to all areas when wall mounted ( wall mounting was easy with supplied mounting hardware and brackets ) A great value for the money!

I give it a 5 star when weighing Price vs Quality vs Performance. Like others say the bass could be better but not in this price range. Plus its only a 5.25 woofer, its not going to reverb like a 6.5 or an 8. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend or purchase again as a good mid-tier speaker. I dont play music outdoors in an attempt to recreate a concert so the lack of low level bass is ok for me. If you require full spectrum music recreation then you are looking in the wrong price range and need to step up to the $200 plus or add an outdoor sub. Volume and clarity at 60-100 ft away was good without cranking up the output volume on the head unit. Obviously it was louder 5-15 ft away but not so much that you couldnt carry on a conversation without yelling.

The J052W speakers are a great value for the money! Not a lot of bass, but good otherwise. Easy to install and they do a nice job projecting sound across my patio.
Id recommend them and Id by them again. Now, if I only had an outdoor sub...

For 50 bucks, you cant do better. These speakers are great for outdoor deck parties and such. They can take plenty of power and still deliver a clear & clean sound with plenty of bass. Ive mounted these on the thick wood of my deck and get a very good sound. I did experiment with placement for quite a while. (Note: make sure your amplifier has plenty of power if youre going to drive these speakers and interior ones as well.) I also like that these speakers come with good sturdy mounting brackets (many speakers dont). If youre an audiophile, youll probably want something with a stronger midrange. If you just want to have great sound for parties - these will do fine.

I bought these based on the previous reviews. I am not disappointed. They were easy to mount and sound better than my older more expensive RCAs. They are loud enough and deep enough, they sound great.

I was pleasantly surprised by the dynamic sound of these little speakers. I have them mounted under the eves on my deck. Actually the farther I went out into the yard the better they sound. Nice solid speakers, easy instructions and mounting brackets, a lot of bang for your buck.

Ive had no issue with these speakers operationally over the last two years.
However, if your speakers are in direct sunlight for the summer as mine are (I take them in for the winter) the White plastic WILL turn yellow in color where the sun hits them (UV damage?).
If this upsets you, either apply armour-all or some other UV auto protectant to them liberaly (at your own risk) or find yourself a black speaker set.

I installed these speakers under my soffets on my deck. My backyard is about 1/2 acre deep, and I am blown away by how good these sound anywhere in my backyard! I had to tweek my Kenwood receiver to get the best sound out of them, but once I did I was very impressed. For this price, I would have to highly recommend them to anyone.

I have purchased two sets of these speakers. The first I put in the backyard under the eaves. Sound was so good and could be heard nice and clear in all areas of my yard. Great for Pool Parties. So great that I put the second set in my garage. I do store the ones outside for the winter. This is the second winter I have done so. Good low cost speakers! Look nice suspended on the clean white wall in the garage.

I chose these speakers for the decent reviews and the good price. The included mounting brackets are nice,easy to install and very adjustable, and dont seem to come with all of the outdoor speakers. That made a big difference in my choice. Unfortunately, these speakers have a hollow, deep sound that provides enough bass, but doesnt balance to make audio audible outdoors. If it werent too much effort to dismount these and return them, I certainly would.

I was looking for a reasonably priced all weather speaker to mount under the eaves of the porch behind my house. The mounting bracket made it easy to put in the wall and they sound very good. Dont get me wrong, they arent top-shelf audiophile quality but if you entertain and want to put on some music for entertaining, they do a great job. Definitely worth the small amount you spend on them.

I am pretty pickey about my speakers and these are just great. Wonderful low end and great highs. For the price they are definitely worth every penny. Just hooked them up out on my deck and the bass response is just amazing. I may buy another pair for a second set in my family room.

I purchased 2 sets of the Jensen Indoor/Outdoor speakers for my pool deck. I installed them the first week of May 2006 and have been enjoying them ever since!
The sound that these speakers produce is awesome. I was hoping to find an outdoor speaker that would not sound "tinny" and "WOW" was I impressed with the bass that comes out of these speakers! They have been through numerous rainstorms since installation and sound just as great as the day I installed them!
I would highly recommend these speakers for anyone who is looking for outdoor enjoyment of sound!

Their low end frequency response (55Hz) fills the gap between the mid-range and sub-woofer better then the Sony and KLH speakers I used previously. As a result the sound is richer and fuller.
Their imaging isnt crystal clear but they do create a reasonable sound stage. They are GREAT replacements for the chintzy speakers that come with entry level A/V systems. If you are looking for such an upgrade look no further then these Jensens.
If you want an Audiophile level system - look at Cantons - There are none better IMO. Just be ready to spend 10 to 50 times more than these Jensens.

I have original Boston Acoustic T1000 tower speakers as main front speakers in our game room surround sound system. These
are classic dual woofer speakers from the late 80s. Running everything from a new budget Pioneer 6.1 receiver (very sharp
in silver for only $169). Have the Advent 12" powered subwoofer
from Amazon $79. Using four of these Jensens for the rear and rear center surrounds. If you take the time to work with your receiver and contour the db + or - to your various speakers, set the proper speaker distance to listener settings, and set the right crossover to send everything under 80 to the fronts and the sub.....you get GREAT sound. I ended up getting all four Jensens for $70 on sale a few weeks back. I have been hooked on good sound for years. Please dont tell me you can get better sounds from any speaker costing as much as double. To be realistic, I am referring to sound for movies and an XBOX.
We are not talking about using these to listen to Mozart. Bonus for these speakers was that my wife actually thinks they are nice looking ! I think she is right.

I drive them off of a 5CD, 90W RMS JVC bookshelf type speaker system that sits in my kitchen just off the deck. If youre looking for a similar setup, Radio Shack sells a nice high power speaker selector box that lets you connect your stereo receiver output and drive up to 4 pairs of speakers. The speakers can run independently or up to 4 pairs simultaneously by pushing different selector buttons on the front of the unit. I have the bookself speakers in the kitchen and these Jensens on the deck connected and the sound is fabulous. This setup has been a great hit at parties this summer.

For the price and size these speakers are great! They are designed great for indoors or out and are easily hung because of the swivel design bracket. They are small but the sound is big and the quality of the sound is huge!I purchased a second pair to put outside on my back porch after I received the first pair and heard the sound quality.The size makes it perfect for indoor surround sound home theatre set up and easily moved to outdoors for entertaining.

These are not the top of the line speakers. However, they are very high quality for what you pay. I am using them for outdoor speakers and they have a nice range of sound. Mostly used for background sound, so high quality is not a necessity; just good quality. I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a nice sounding speakers without a huge price tag.

I bought a pair for some "B" speakers off of my stereo for the back porch. They sound great. They definitely cannot be beat for the money. Ive got neighbors with the Bose speakers of similar dimensions and I cant hear the difference. Overall a good purchase- no negatives.

Just got these units hooked up. The reviewers are right, these speakers sound great, considering the size and and price. Bass is tight and pronounced (both good) and the highs are crisp (also good). I was able to them on sale for $40!!

They are quality speakers that come with nice brackets (which you cant tell from the photo). I recommend them over a 4" woofer speaker for sure.... They are a bit tubby around 440 Hz but nothing that rolling off a little bass cant cure. Im driving them with my standard Sony receiver that is setup for 8 ohms.
Im about to order my second set for the kitchen... Love em...

I just received my Jensen J052 outdoor speakers and am very impressed with the quality of sound and rich base from such a small speaker. Im even more thrilled about the price - what a deal. I tried a slightly cheaper set from AudioSource LS 300 and there is no comparison with the Jensen J052. Get a pair and you will be pleased!

I ahve had a lot speakers and nothing relates to the jensens I bought. I have had sony, klh, and rca and all where 3-way 8"s and the jensens out performed them all by the quality of sound that they produced. i would recommend the jensen speakers to any body that wanted to get GREAT sound.

...i was SHOCKED how good they sounded. see i dj for a bunch of party they put out alot of bass and they are so clear if i had i chose to pic a great sounding speaker i would pic these.

The first thing that caught my eye was the design of these units. COOOOOOOL is the best way to describe them.
The next was the sound coming out of them which is EXCELLENT!! The price is right-on also!
I have a stereo 100W per channel receiver and they took all I could pump into em.
A REAL GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY SPENT!!!!! Reminds me of Jensens of old.

These speakers are pretty good. I was plesantly surprised when I cranked up the volume and they performed well. They produce tons of bass and the high frequecies are clear. Also they are really durable.

Dayam dis shiiet is da illinest speakerz I have eva come across!? Da wattage iz just enuff to really rock da house!? They arent Harman Kardons but they dont cost as much either!

These are nice speakers if you can get them cheap. However, they do not sound very good; they do not even have a crossover! The sound is a bit metallic, and not very clear. They are rated to produce 35Hz-25KHz but the lower limit is probably more like 55Hz. Dont expect their power handling to be the rated 300W, 70-90W will probably fry them. I would suggest to get Sony SSM-F300H, these can be found cheaper , yet the sound is a bit better.

This is a great Sub Woofer for its price, I like it because of its ability to make u be able to feel the movie youre watching, or the music youre listening to.
