Good Beginners Camera
by: Anonymous    On: 2001-12-27

This is probably a good beginners camera, but no where near 35 mm quality. Even up close. pictures came out, out of focus when using zoom and flash.
The big surprise
by: Anonymous    On: 2001-12-14

The performance of this little camera was a big surprise to me. I purchased it because it was not machine spacific and I have an I Mac... Also the price was right. This camera is great. You dont need some expensive camera for your pictures.. I use it indoors to take pictures of my art work and out of doors for reference pictures and Im never disapointed. The software that comes with it is so user friendly, you do not have to figure anything out. The photos can be transfered from the Kodak software to Adobe Photoshop or any other image software also. I also shared the camera with a friend who has a PC and still very compatible. Get the docking station so you do not need to buy batteries but call Kodak for recharging info. It takes at least 2 days of on and off the docking station to really have the batteries charged and there is no printed info to tell you this.

Very easy to use     On: 2001-07-13

This camera is very easy to use, and it is fun to review your pictures as a slide show on t.v. The dock is wonderful, and so simple. Plus, it recharges the batteries each time you use it. I was a little disappointed with the quality/color of the pictures I had printed, but the quality on the computer screen is great. If I werent such a fan of handmade scrapbooks, this would be the perfect camera. I did order an 8x12 of a favorite shot, and the color was better than the 3x5 copy.
Handy and powerful     On: 2001-07-08

I got this camera with the Dock three weeks ago. I added to the purchase a 128 MB FlashCompact card. With that the camera can store 700 high quality photos at once, and about 200 in the highest quality. The pictures come out great. Ive taken about 1000 of them already, enjoying the fact that I dont need to pay a single cent for developing.

This camara also helps me to learn more about the basic elements of photography, whereas using a 35 mm tended to become a bit expensive. Ive discovered new cool ways to take photos, ways that I had never given thought of before. Ive practiced the effects of different lightsources, and have been very impressed with the quality of photos I get from taking a picture of a sunset.

The batteries last for hours if you turn the view-screen off between photos. Downloading is fast. It took me about 5 minutes to download 200 photos today, each of them about 500K. The camara organizes the photos into folders based on date.

The only problem Ive really got is that Im running out of creative ideas. I bet that wont be a real problem though.

This is a most excellent buy, and for an affordable price. I guess the professional photographer would like something more, but I bet most of them would be pretty satisfied with this product for personal use.

Ive had this camera for a month now.. the dock is very handy and this is the best digital camera you can buy for the price.. its got pretty good picture quality and the best part is the internal memory can hold 50 pics!!
Great camera but...     On: 2001-06-22

I bought this camera just this week. So far I love it! I was surprised on how sharp my close up pictures turned out, some were amazing. I went and got the camera dock after hearing how great it was..I totally agree, Kodak couldnt have made it any simpler, just take your shots and sit in on the dock and press a botton. I am having a blast!! One thing Im not really happy with is the photo editing software, it could have been much better,It just seems limited on what you can do with it..Other than the software I cant say enough about this camera. If your looking for your first digital camera this one has my vote.
Great Digital for Beginners     On: 2001-06-19

What I love about this camera: 1) Very easy to use--what you see in the viewfinder is what you get. And you can immediately see the results on the LCD screen on the back of the camera. 2) The dock is wonderful-just like a palm pilot for pictures - set the camera in the dock, push the button and your pictures are loaded into the computer. Its that simple! It also recharges the batteries when it is in the dock - a HUGE benefit because the digital cameras need a lot of juice.

What I dont really like: 1) The picture quality is uneven - some pictures are great, some just dont work. Not as much a problem since you can delete them, but that very special photo op may not be captured by this camera (keep a film camera for the most important occasions -- like your sons first home run hit). 2) The cameras user interface is clunky beyond point and shoot pictures. Dont expect a lot of bells and whistles. This is strictly a amateurs camera.

Overall we are very happy with this camera. We get surprizingly good prints out of our $99 epson bubble jet printer (on the special photo paper). It is ideal for the beginner digital camera user who want to send email pictures and take lots of good quality photos for pennies versus the expense of developing film. I gave it five stars because it did everything we asked and more.

Great photos, easy software! Another great Kodak product!     On: 2001-06-11

This digital camera is a delight to own and use. This bundle is so great because it INCLUDES the Kodak DX 3500 digital camera *and* the Kodak Camera Dock. As someone who has used cameras that do not come with a simple snap-in bundled dock, Ive been frustrated, but this makes it soooo easy to upload images to your computer for sharing and/or printing. The dock is also great because it recharges the battery in a snap, instead of fumblign with awkward chargers and losing batterie around the house. ("Honey, wheres the battery charging now?")

The camera itself has a 2.2-megapixel sensor that allows you to ceate generous prints up to 8" x 10". Most people tend to stick to the 4" x 6" prints, but it is nice to have the option.

The 3x digital zoom lens with autofocus and 8 MB internal memory is enough for most pictures, but this could have been a bit larger. In some instances you might find yourself hurrying back to the computer to transfer the images so you can take more pics. Depending on the format size of the image, youll be able to take about 40 photos (more than a 36 exposure roll of tradtional film - yeah!) before needing to transfer images to your computer. Overall, this is a great camera at a super value.

Fast, friendly, great pictures, but one warning!!!     On: 2001-06-11

Being new to digital photography I wanted a camera that had some bells & whistles, but was still easy to use and had high picture quality. This camera has met the bill, and the camera dock is great! One warning that I found out the hard way: the camera is not friendly to all compact flash cards. I purchased a 64mg Sandisk and it was not compactible. Use Lexar Media and youre up and running and taking great photos!
