I originally purchased a whole surround sound system manufactured by Audiosource. At the time, the whole thing, including a powered sub-woofer, was only a hundred bucks! That was five years ago.
In my overzealousness one night playing a Stevie Ray Vaughn DVD, I blew one of the original satellite speakers.
I was delighted to to find they still made these units, and purchased another pair. I LOVE these units, you just cannot beat the sound and quality for the price! And, they handle 100 watts! by: Anonymous On: 2007-07-06
While most cars have places to put speakers, vans and VW busses dont. These allow you to hang the speaker on the walls or in the corners. You can hear the stereo better because the speakers are above the cargo or seats and you can use less wattage to drive them. These speakers are great for that! Clean sound and fairly well constructed. The only real complaint I have is that they come with plastic brackets that break going down the road. You need to get metal brackets from the manufacturer if you are going to use these for an auto sound application. Great Speakers!! by: Anonymous On: 2005-10-27
I resently installed these speakers on the outside of my house (backyard). I was amazed at the quality of sound that came out of such inexpensive speakers. I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a good source of background music for their outdoor activities. by: Anonymous On: 2005-08-17
I havent had my Audio Source speakers that long but so far they have been great! I paid about $40.00 for the pair to put up outside our pool and deck area. They have brackets that you can mount to the side of your house and they hold great. It did come with some screws that I have no idea what they go to but we really didnt need them anyway. If you are looking for some inexpensive speakers to just listen to music while you are lounging around outside these are great for that! I am very happy with my purchase. by: luisin On: 2005-01-14
Pros: Lightweight, easy to install with brackets included, and a GOOD price-performance relation. Considering the limitations of the drivers and the housing etc, it is a good deal. The mid-range and high-range definition is pretty good.
Cons:
Just slightly overstepping that what the bass driver can handle, and it will sound really ugly. When we reach that point, the speaker is hardly handling 18W RMS power. In other words: The speaker is overrated being called 100W.
My conclusion:
These speakers are best for multi-room low-level ambient music. It has an emphasis on the 7-8 KHz range, saying that some sources like cymbals sound harsh. Nothing that cannot be fixed with an EQ. The mid range 300-6000 Hz is very well defined and balanced, given the size of the speaker.
As said: A good deal, but DONT expect 100W from it.

Cant compare to Bose 151 but for the money its a good speaker for the deck. I upgraded to the Bose but didnt really need to.
I just wanted the best for my backyard to enjoy my Sirius radio by the pool and spa. And Bose IS the best. (but very expensive ) by: Anonymous On: 2004-03-19
How can you complain for under 30 bucks .. Great for outdoor use. NO they are not Klipsch but they are 30 BUCKS. I would recommend they for anyone wanting an inexpensive speaker. On: 2003-07-19
I hooked these up to my Dennon flame thrower to an outside B channel. The sound is as good as youll get at any cost. Im still cautious about decibels though, I just figure there easy to blow. But did go happy boy a few times and they still sound great. I always push my speakers before the warrantys up. On: 2002-06-24
We placed our speakers 1 above our deck and 14 seperation. Couple that with monster cable-THESE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT!!! We are using a 50W/channel receiver. Well placed, these speakers have plenty of highs and the bass is audible (sub-woofer) would give enhancement). For our back-ground type music under the sun/stars this is an exceptional deal. Well worth the purchase!! On: 2002-05-29
After reading the other reviews on these, I guess I was expecting them to sound really good. I would say that their sound is just OK, no better than that for sure. Absolutely no bass, and vocals sound very tinny and hollow. Then I remembered how much I paid for them, and I figured what can you expect. So, dont be misled by the other reviews, the bottom line is that you get what you pay for, and these sound like [an inexpensive] pair of speakers. They represent a decent value in low end speakers, but nothing more. by: Anonymous On: 2002-05-09
