MP3 buggy

I just bought one of these. It could just be the one I bought, but... it works fine except for the following egregious problem: When it reads an MP3 file (and I tried several times on different CDs), it gets "confused" and treats each file as several different little tracks, making a delay between each one. At first I thought it was skipping, or buffer overrun, but nope, its that weird thing. I will have to return it.
Good but disappointed

Pros
Has played everything so far without skips
Price

Cons
NO FREAKING REMOTE!!!
No "scan" capability when listening to MP3s
Big pause between songs when listening to MP3s

Overall its a pretty good unit for the price but its missing some things that should be standard (like scanning). And I chose this model over others because it was supposed to have a remote.

SLIM, TRIM, AND FIT MP3/CD PLAYER     On: 2002-07-07

I chose the Panasonic SL-MP36C for its inovative stylish good looks, its amazing size, and its versatility.

The most amazing thing for me was this players size. In comparison to most portable CD/MP3 players in the market right now, this has got to be the smallest. I have compared it to most players out there, and not even SONY has come up with a smaller size MP3/CD player. To me it seems since this MP3/CD player thing is still new, most companies out there are starting us off with bulky equipment so that later you will be tempted to buy their newer slicker upcoming models. I think in that respect, Panasonic jumped the gun and gave the consumer what they really wanted.

I purchased the unit mostly so that I could play my MP3/CDs in my car without having the need for a CD/CHANGER. The unit works beautifully and does not skip(45-sec for CD-DA and 100-sec for MP3 playback). The unit also offers up to 40 hours MP3 playback on two "AA" Alkaline Batteries and up to 30 hours for your regular music CDs making it the longest I have found. The unit has a stylish finish and is not thick or oversized/bulky like some others I have compared it too.

Overall, it has been a great little MP3/CD player and with care should give you lasting hours of good music. The unit has Good quality sound and like most portable CD players, the headphones are not the best and should be replaced for some quality ones. I also found out that not all these units include the remote like you see in the picture, mine did not come with the remote (I dont know why) which would have been very helpful. I think maybe I should write Panasonic about it. So, if you want a slim, trim, and fit MP3/CD player I suggest you look at the Panasonic SL-MP36C.
