I have owned this unit for many many years now. I purchased it when it first came onto the market. It has lasted me for more than 5 years wihout any problem. I am now beginning to notice the DVD player is freezing and skipping. For what I paid for it, I know I got my moneys worth. Its a tough work-horse unit.

Ive had this unit almost a year now and it works perfectly. It was easy to set up, just swapped the same input and output as went into the VCR this was replacing. Sound and video quality are both good, its easy to use and small in size. Overall, Im very happy with my choice. On: 2002-12-22
The unit plays store bought DVD and all VHS tapes fine-BUT-The DVD unit did NOT play my VCDs(CD-Rs) or any of my DVD +R /DVD +RW dvds.THIS IS NOT mentioned on the BOX. Until they make a unit that plays these formats --this ones goin back to the store. If it played the formats I need it to play I would rate it a 4--good price--easy hook up--easy operation --good playback.BUT...until that time it gets a 2. On: 2002-09-13
I bought this set a few months ago and after a few movies watched on it, almost every DVD I had tried was skipping like heck. It wasnt my DVDs, because they were brand new, and the player was brand new, so I doubt it needed a cleaning. At first I thought I had just gotten a "lemon", but from the other reviewers on here, it seems like Im not the only one. This player skips...hopefully I can get a replacement soon. by: Anonymous On: 2002-06-18
I just bought this unit a few days ago. I tried both the VCR and DVD and for the money, I find it not too bad. The sound that it provides when connected to a stereo system is really theater sound quality. The quality of the DVD video is pretty darn good. The VCR could be of better quality, but its at least better than what I replaced it with (it was a Sanyo VCR). If your a connissuer of audio/video tecky stuff, you may not like it. But for the average TV viewer or mom and dad looking to upgrade their their entertainment center on a budget, you wont be disappointed. Its not hard to learn all of its functions, and the remote is easy to use once youve tried it a few times. If the picture quality for the VCR could of been a few tads better, I would have given it a 5 star rating. But as I said, for the money, its a pretty decent dual DVD/VCR player. On: 2002-06-17
I just bought this unit a few days ago. I find it to be a pretty good piece of equipment. The picture and sound quality from the DVD is in my opinion, pretty darn good. Running it thru my stereo unit I get what I feel is,theater sound quality. The picture that it provides is really great. The VCR side of it is a bit on the short end of the stick. But overall not really that bad. The VCR sound quality isnt all that shabby for the non-connoisseur of the audio/video world. In other words, for mom dad and the kids, youll be satisfied. The menu isnt the best but not the worst either. I was told by the sales person whom I bought the unit from, that once I get my HDTV hooked up to it, Ill be more than happy with it. Based on the comments from my circle of tecky frinds, hes right. So the bottom line is this. If your looking for a reasonable priced dual DVD/VCR unit for the family entertainment center, Its worth the investment. youll be satisfied with it by: Anonymous On: 2002-06-13
This unit worked as described right out of the box. I just hooked up the same cables from my old VCR to get both DVD and VCR working.Only issue was that the audio while running a DVD was lower than normal TV or running a VCR tape. Subsequently I connected my stereo system/speakers as secondary output for the DVD (its labeled on the back of the unit) and now I get great surround sound coming out of both the TV and the stereo system. It takes a bit to figure out the audio settings but once you do youll highly enjoy this unit!! On: 2002-05-02
I bought this item less than a year ago, and now I am shopping for a replacement. The combo unit is a good idea - it saves space and simplifies set up - but the quality of GoVideo leaves quite a bit to be desired. The VCR side works well, but the DVD side is hopeless. Its slow to load. It skips and freezes. The materials are generally cheap.
