More Information

It quit working after two weeks!     On: 2003-11-25

After two weeks of great performance it just stopped working. I put in a disc and the TV screen just displays "READ" forever. I tried it with several discs with the same result. Funny, I bought this unit because of all the great reviews. I guess its just a crap-shoot with cheap electronics from little-known manufacturers! At least Amazon is willing to give me a refund!
Multiregion Multisystem PAL/NTSC !!     On: 2003-10-17

This player has worked brilliantly since day one. I have played all the discs I bought in the UK and Australia without an issue. Would buy again anyday.
Worse DVD Player
by: Anonymous    On: 2003-08-19

A DVD player that never play a DVD. It will stop playing after one minute. There is no support number to contact any one in this world. Substandard DVD Player. I tried contacting support desperately and at the end throwed out and bought a new one.. reliable one.
The best entry-level DVD player I've seen.     On: 2003-07-08

This fantastic DVD player is value priced, but packs the features of many more expensive players on the market. As a fan of imports and VCDs, I got it because it played DVDs from all territories and VCD/SVCD without a hiccup. It plays MP3s and even JPEG files very well too. All through composite videos, compression artifacting is almost non-existent. Were talking extra-crisp visuals and sound. This has become my primary DVD player, unseating a much more expensive DVD player thanks to all the features. Ive got to say, for people looking for an entry-level player, this is THE player. And for anyone whos big on imports and want solid features, this is still a great consideration.
This player is well built on the inside and out!     On: 2003-06-20

This is one great player. It is a large and heavy unit compared to other players in this price range, but I venture to say it will be around a lot longer. The tray is good and solid too. Just as importantly the picture and sound are great and it plays everything Ive thrown at it. It also has a display and a super easy to follow manual. My son is returning his Norcent. No comparison in quality! Anyone interested can now pick it up at arguselectronics.com for 59.95 or data.vis.com (DataVision) for 59.99.

Excelent Value

I own this DVD as well as 3 other DVDs but this is probably the best value per dollar. It could only get better if it had progresive scan. Picture quality is excelent and has all the necesary digital outputs, as well as analog outputs, also it can play all the formats you may want like MP3 and VCD.
This is a great DVD player     On: 2003-02-03

This is a really good DVD player. The low price is the best but the picture and sound quality is the better than other manufaturers. This can play all region DVD and even mpeg movies. That is very helpful.
I becomes a fan of Cyberhome.
A good, solid, entry level media machine     On: 2002-12-20

I bought this as a second player for DVD movies, CD Audio, and MP-3 music discs burned on my Mac. It will also play Kodak Picture CDs or JPEG pics you burn on a CD.
So far, I have been very happy with this player for the price. It has all of the video and audio outputs I need, and it actually has some cool features found only on higher-end models.
First off, let me say that this is a LARGE component. It wont fit on top of a medium sized TV (around 26-27 inches). The entire cabinet is real metal, and has a solid feel. So what it lacks in compactness, it makes up for in sturdy construction-so sturdy that my Technics Pro Logic Receiver is sitting on top of it! The buttons on the front are minimal, but well arranged and useful. Unlike some of the other "economy" brands Cyberhome does give you an LED display on the front of the machine to see what chapter or track youre playing. The remote has glow in the dark buttons that-while not exactly intuitive-are logically arranged. The picture quality is quite good through the S-Video and Component Video hookups. By choosing the "SETUP" button and then navigating to the "VIDEO" menu you can actually adjust the brightness and contrast output of this player. In fact, it is ESSENTIAL you do so, as this DVD player seems to have the brightness and contrast values set to "LOW" at the factory. Having this feature is a nice plus.
What does the player lack? No Dolby decoding built-in, but it will let you output to an analog or Dolby digital receiver. It does seem to take longer to read and start playing a DVD than other players, but thats minor.
To sum up, if you want an affordable first DVD player, look at this one instead of the really cheap APEX. This one looks better and plays better. You wont find one better for the price, and may end up buying two for the price of one namebrand.
What a DVD Player

Ive wanted a second DVD player for the TV in our bedroom for a long time but didnt want to spend a fortune. When I saw this CyberHome DVD on your site and noticed it had all the same features as players twice the price I couldnt resist. Its been great to curl up on cold nights and be able to watch movies in bed!

My husband has been so excited since I gave him this CyberHome DVD player for his birthday - we finally threw away our beat up VCR.Not only was I able to buy him the CyberHome DVD player, but I was able to buy a few DVDs to start his movie library.
Cool toys

My CD player was on the fritz and I havent been able to get my VCR to work forever, so I bit the bullet and started shopping around for a DVD player that I could also use for my music CDs. The audio and video quality is surprisingly good and the CyberHome DVD looks cool too!
