Cobras HA-TA telescoping antenna worked as advertised and noticeably increased the receive range of my handheld CB. This antenna is well worth the money and definitely outperforms the OEM rubber-duck antenna that came with the radio. On: 2008-05-23
This works much better than my "rubber" original antenna. I went to the intersection of two major freeways to listen to radio signals, standing outside my vehicle. Cobra tech people said to NOT put any spray or lubricant on itCobra HA-TA Hand-Held CB Antenna On: 2007-09-06
It wobbles at the connection where the whip is crimped to the screw stud. Its a crimped on connection and it was loose the day i got it. Itll only get worse since its already loose.. $20.00 for this? by: Anonymous On: 2007-05-19
This Antenna will definatly boost the range of your handheld CB radio. I have the HH38WXST model, and it boosts it from 4 miles to 15 miles! If you want more range, try it out. Its worth the small amount of money, and makes a huge difference. On: 2007-01-09
For the application I needed this antenna did well. Do not be confused by the term "long-range" thinking you will get a signal out 5-10 miles in all conditions. This is still a antenna for a hand-held unit. But it did well and I was able to send and receive over a distance of 2-4 miles under good conditions (relatively smooth land, good weather, etc). The only disappointing thing was the shipping the seller used. UPS messed up twice and sent the package back to the seller. It took me almost a month to receive it regular shipping. For the $11+ spent on shipping and handling I expect better. On: 2006-07-05
I bought this Cobra telescopic antenna for my Cobra Roadtrip handheld CB. It performs better than the included mini-whip, but it is not as sturdy as Id like it to be. It has two parts, the lower part with a coil, and the upper screw-on telescopic antenna. The lower part with the coil is covered with a plastic layer and it seems like the coil under it it hasnt been soldered carefully, so there is a sharp bump under the plastic which might get exposed after longer usage and standar tear and wear. Fully extended, it measures about 27 inches, compared to the 11.5" in its folded state. It attaches to the handheld using its BNC connector which works perfectly for the Cobra handheld, but if you are buying this for some other CB radio with standard antenna connector you will need to buy the adapter. Bottom line - it works, but it could have been designed smoother. On: 2006-03-24
Radio Shack wanted $39.95 for a similar item so at $9.95 this was a steal - swr is good and performance is as much as I need for Corvette runs although it hears well and gives a good transmit signal for the small size far beyond what I need. I did have to put a metal plate on the Vette (discreetly) as it wouldnt stick to the fiberglass. Good product On: 2006-03-23
