the tape adapter works, but, like most Coby products the power adapter does not work. If you wait too long to return it to Amazon, Coby will charge you 6 dollars for a replacement. No guarantee that the replacement will work. On: 2008-02-08
We tried with no success to learn how-to set this up in the car without shocking us.

casette to cd converter.Item works great.I never suspected such great audio using this adapter. What is amazing how it transfers audio by pressing one pickup head against the original head in the casette player! On: 2007-05-29
Bought it two years ago. Works great still. The multi adapter is a life saver. On: 2007-03-28
I bought this for my husband for Christmas along with the CD player for his car. From the first time he tried it we could not get it to work. Not sure if it was the adapter or the CD player but we ended up returning both for a refund. On: 2006-07-31
Even the slightest bump cause the casette to pop out and stop the CD. I will be returning this to Amazon for a refund. On: 2006-05-05
I love this kit! It sounds oh-so-good! I especially love the fact that you can change the adapter plug on the casette adapter from front-loading to side-loading. Very convenient! I also like all of the voltage adapters, I have used it to charge my cell phone as well as operate my CD player.
As for the other reviews listed, I dont know why they would rate it negatively at all. One said the casette adapter didnt come with it, he obviously got the wrong item. As far as the one that said the fuse blew, I would have first checked the voltage regulator in my car...
Highly recommended product! On: 2006-03-17
First off, the price is great! I tried purchasing just the tape adapter unit from another store and they wanted like $20. Here on Amazon i got a way better buy.
I purchased this item and am very happy with it. I use it for my portable CD player in my car and it works like a charm. I enjoy the feature on the tape thingy, you can switch the wire out to a front loading or side loading tape deck, and it produces the sound oh so clearly!
Plus, it comes with the different volatage adapters, so other than your CD player, you can use it for an air pump for your tires or charge your cell while your on the go (hopefully while it charges youll refrain from talking on it). This is a very nice buy, highly recomended. On: 2005-01-05
I dont have any problem with the adapter and the sound quality is good. In my opinion, it deserves 4.5 stars. Actually most of the bad reviews here for this product are not fair. At least one should not complain about a product because he/she couldnt receive it from a retailer or received a wrong product. He/She should point his/her finger to the retailer, instead. I wanted to buy a Car Kit to listen to my MD player inside my car. After browsing around the web, I found this Coby Car Kit Adapter which had everything I needed at a good low price. I ordered it immediately. After it arrived, I plugged the adaptor in my cigarette lighter to test it out and the fuse burned out. I was going to send it in to the manufacturer but realized that they actually charge you 10$ shipping and handling on this item. Thus, I just took it apart and realized it was only the fuse and bought another one at radio shack and it seems to be working fine right now. Besides that, the sound quality isnt too bad. I ordered this product on May 31, 2004 and today is July 5th and I still havent received it. I was told because I used regular mail to have it shipped that it was basically my fault that I dont have it. The postal service doesnt take over a month to ship a product from eastern pa to western pa. I am very dissatisfied with the customer service I have received to date.... On: 2004-05-29
My daily 2+ hour commute is eased by having my MP3 player hooked into my desk using this cassette adapter. I have had it for a couple of months now and as far as the durability goes, it has held up well compared with a Radio Shack cassette adapter that it replaced (since the connectors around the plug came apart.)I do have a couple of somewhat significant issues with it: 1) the cassette adapter will reverse directions on a random, varying basis; this will happen at least two to three times each hour, but sometimes more. I know that this not necessarily caused by the player since it has happened with the cassette in the deck and the MP3 player off. 2) the power plug has different power plugs to mate with different types of players, but the adapter plug can easily get tugged away from its cord - there should be a better way to secure this; this can be easily be corrected with some electrical tape, but it is a minor nuisance. It has required that I be careful with where I route the cords to make sure that it is out of the way. Otherwise, I think this player and power cord is a good value and would purchase one again On: 2004-05-28

You must have received CA-709 (without the cassette component) by mistake. CA-706 is prepackaged with the cassette component. On: 2004-01-04
The picture shows the cassette feature along with the car kit. The cassette did not come with the kit. Very disappointed!
