Although I didnt buy this junk from Amazon, I need to tell someone that RCA has made a terrible mistake in letting this product get loose. A year ago I had to replace the digital sound board, and now the DVD drive has completely quit....Im buying somebody elses product.

This is the worst purchase I ever made. The machine will not run for more than 4-6 hrs at a time. If you leave it with the power on you have to manually unplug it and let if "rest" for 3-4 hours before it will open the DVD server. I sent if back under warranty and they returned it saying there was nothing wrong. I wont Buy RCA again.

Wow, I am so disappointed. We had an RCA VCR in the 80s that was so great. Their new products are the worst! This is my second RCA DVD player that I have received as a gift from my dad and also the second one that I have had terrible problems with.
The last one just kept getting worse. This one locks up completely, pixelizes on perfectly scratch free disks, pauses 2 seconds between audio when playing a CD (boy does that stink for live concerts CD), the remote keeps switching back into TV mode in between button pushes and if i rewind or fast forward the captions and subtitles BOTH disappear. I have to stop and resume again to get these to return.
This company is making the worst most unreliable products around.
I got it about 9 months ago but moved twice and didnt hook it up until the other day. I went online and found that their warranty is an asstounding 90 days on this product! It will cost me money to replace an overpriced, buggy, defective DVD player that should be under warranty.
I will never purchase another RCA product and I recommend you do the same.

I have had to contact RCA multiple times because this player does not play anything. It will just randomly decide that DVDs (brand new) are not of the right format?! The first time I called RCA, they said I needed to clean the lens and that they were going to send me a cleaning kit. It never came. I bought one myself, but cleaning wasnt the problem. The product does not work.

Although the sound is very good, the DVD player hardly recognizes any DVDs. I usually have to turn the unit on and off several times to get it to recognize a DVD. These are newly released DVDs and DVDs that are a couple years old. Im going to end up buying a seperate DVD player because this one is so bad. Its not just mine. Read a few reviews of their RTD255 unit. Im giving it 2 stars just because the sound is good.
