I am just as happy with a entry level sub as I am this mid range one. Just not that much of a difference for the price................. On: 2007-09-20
Chances are, if youre like me, you dont need this sub. I am a college student living in a house off campus. This sub is enough for any personal room. In fact, I can be playing my music and feel the bass outside my house (brick walls). I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Pushed 100watts from a Yamaha RX-797 (high quality stereo receiver) and very minimal distortion (if any, it probably came from the quality of the mp3) so, a very good sub. I listen to mainly hip-hop, rap, house, and trance... and am very pleased. Movies are 150% better with this sub.
With that said, this sub gives good controls for tweaking the power, phase, and crossover. So its pretty high end and customizable to fit your setup.
The only thing I was concerned about was the size. This sub is huge, so you better have a spot for it. If youve got the space and the $$$ theres nothing more to think about. On: 2007-09-19

I just finsihed my home theater system and I could not be happier with what I choose. This Infinity PS-12 is awsome, very tight bass, there is no boomyness at all, for the price you can not go wrong. Its big and heavy but really makes the movies... I have a Yamaha RX-V661 reciever and I love this unit, for the price you cant go wrong, for speakers, I went with Infinitys CS-60 in the wall and Ceiling, again for the price they sound incrediable... I had a media setup without the sub-woofer for 3 weeks and I tell you what the sound experience is a world apart with this Sub-woofer. It takes action scenes to a totally different level specially in a fully enclosed media room! I would recommend this one even if your media room is less than 400 Sqft!!! On: 2007-05-03
Awesome. Matches my other speakers. Got a great deal on it. Shipping was fast and it was carefully packaged. Thinking about getting another one for base in another part of the home theater. On: 2006-10-27
I am blown away by how much the sound quality of my entire system has improved for so little money. DVDs sound more three-dimensional, and, for music CDs, the difference is night-and-day--even with music containing little bass information. Its like purchasing your first color TV after spending most of your life watching black-and-white. It even sounds amazing at low volumes.
Matched with the right equipment, with the correct settings and placement, the bass on the PS-12 is lifelike and super-tight without being unnaturally boomy. I cant believe that I waited this long to invest in a subwoofer, and I will never go without one again. On: 2006-10-26

This sub is more than I expected. The clean, tight bass that it puts out is great! I highly recommend watching the scene in Polar Express where the train pulls up for the first time. If the train was actually in my living room, it probably would not have sounded as good. This is a great sub! On: 2006-10-22

After replacing my older receiver with a digital capable unit, I discovered a great loss in my low frequency output. So, I decided to add a sub to regain the hard hitting lows I crave in music and movies.
The PS 12 delivered with great sounding thuds that have yet to distort. Connected to a Kenwood VR-9070-S via digital coax cable, the bass is clear, concise and very tight. I run it at about 1/2 to 2/3 power because I live in an apartment. I only wish I could open it up to full potential, but it would definitely rattle some walls if I did.
It hits good in Dolby Digital movie tracks, especially action adventure flicks that abound in low frequency sound effects. Stereo sound from a CD or radio sounds great too.
The PS 12 is a great sub that comes recommended from this audiophile. On: 2004-10-13
Keeps the walls rattling, very deep and tight bass, but make sure to use a good subwoofer cable (monster bass teh best!!) very deep and clean bas, beats the velodynes in price and power!!!!!!!
