Great value for the $     On: 2008-04-09

I was looking for speakers to put in my suspended ceiling (basement). The finished area is about 48 long by 15 wide. I wanted the stereo sound in one unit to make the sound more uniform (also easier to run a single 4-wire cable). I installed 3 of these evenly spaced (right down the middle of the room) and it fills the area with sound. I dont think any ceiling speaker will knock your socks off with huge volume. But if you are looking for casual listening, these are great speakers. If going into a suspended ceiling you should get a "tile bridge" to help support them. I also used some inexpensive fiberglass insulation on the joists to help with bass, and keep sound from coming upstairs.
Very Satisfied     On: 2008-02-05

I bought this without paying attention to the description (Single). I didnt realize this took a left and right signal. I am still very happy with the purchase and think it sounds great. I also tried bi-wiring it, which worked fine too. I didnt leave it this way, but wanted to see how it sounded.

Polk Audio RC6s In-Ceiling Stereo Speaker, White (Single)
Great speaker, Great price. Installed them in dining room and the sound fills the room better than expected.
Good for the Money     On: 2008-01-18

This speaker is designed specifically for a situation where stereo sound is not optimal; for example, in the kitchen or dining room. By placing a left and right channel tweater, the sound is mixed in a single speaker. This does mean you have to run both the left and right channel wire to the speaker. The best use of this speaker is to have non-directional sound in each room rather than to blast your one stereo in order to hear it from every room.

The size of the woofer is, of course, going to limit the bass response. Heavy bass listeners should add a dedicated sub or at least consider in-wall speakers with larger woofers. The speaker does not come with on-speaker eqs. I recommend using an eq at the stereo base to balance the speaker in order to obtain full statisfaction of the sound. It initially was heavy in the highs (as expected when using two tweeters and only one small sub). Dont get me wrong, its not hard to have a nice, balanced sound from the RC6s.

Over all Im very happy with the quality and sound. It works great for parties, gatherings, and general listening when I dont feel like being tied down to a seat. The price vs. quality compares to that of many more expensive models. Of course, for serious listening (audiophile and/or home theater), just about every model by every company of in-ceiling/wall speakers obviously wont do.
excellent Polk as always     On: 2007-07-13

I put these in my mountain vacation home, and they are super as Polk stuff always is. I work in post production sound, and for the money, this is an excellent choice.
