I bought this as a gift for my kid. About the time he got used to it, the darned thing quit working. Short battery life - shortest camera life of any of the half dozen digitals Ive purchased.

Although it performs OK in good light, the flash leaves something to be desired and the image quality was poor. The camera also uses batteries up very quickly, and mine stopped working after six months. the camera is very light, small and cheap looking because that is exactly what it is.

This is a great camera. It took great pictures, and is very compact and light-weight. Perfect for the traveler! I would recomend this camera to anyone who is interested in digital cameras.

There are 2 major problems with this camera:
1. The flash takes 3-4 minutes to warm up - and that is with brand new batteries. I had to replace batteries after 2 weeks. I got 5 pictures using those batteries. The older the batteries got, the longer it took for the flash to warm up. I have missed so many precious moments with my 6 year old because the flash would not warm up. I had to pay $26 at the mall to get pictures with the Easter bunny because the flash would not warm up. I called Mustek to find out the problem. They told me to buy Lithium batteries. So I did, not any better. They also said if this didnt work they would replace my camera - they would not give me my money back.
2. The zoom is too time consuming. Yet again, many missed precious moments fooling with the camera.
I have reverted back to using a disposable camera. At least it is reliable. I took some pictures with a friends Kodak 5.0 Easy Share and it was wonderful! I plan on purchasing one of these even though it costs 3x the price of the Mustek MDC 4000. On my friends camera, there was no waiting on the flash and there is a zoom button.

I bought this camera because I thought it would be good for a beginner like me. Overall, Ive been very fond of this camera. Its easy to take pictures and convenient. You can take plenty of pictures (at least 100 something) using the low quality, at least 29 mid-quality pictures and several high-high quality pictures. And this is without any memory card or anything. You can take a 1 minute video with sound if you havent really taken any pictures at all.
The only faults I have about this camera would be:
- It chews the batteries FAST (I recommend for you to get rechargable batteries)
- Putting the batteries in is confusing (dont know which side to put the batteries in) and closing the battery case is annoying sometimes

Very poor image quality. Indoor pictures were terrible.<br />
My 3 Mega-pixel Kodak takes much clearer pictures.

I recieved my Mustek MDC 4000 a couple days ago and I must admit I was very dissapointed with the quality of this camera. It goes to show that one shouldnt rely soley on the online reviews of products. I truly dont understand how anyone could have anything good to say about this thing. I had a 1.2MP Sony Mavica years ago that took better quality pictures.
The camera its self is poorly constructed. The seems dont meet up and are uneaven. Ive played with the camera and experimented with all its functions to see if I could maniuplate the camera to take better pictures with negative results. The Memory card door is flimsy and probably wont hold up to much use. I could see small dust inside the lense of the camera even though it was brandnew.
Im very dissapointed. I spent nearly an entire week trying to get a good camera for less money. I read how this camera supposedly wone some digital camrea contest and read proably a hundred positive feedback statements. Save your money!
Ive given this camera two stars because I think it would be a good gift for a young teenager or younger kid for their first camera. If you know anthing about digital cameras at all dont buy this thing for yourself because you will be dissapointed.
Im going to give it away to my niece for her 13th birthday next month.

Our review after experimenting with this camera for a month.It takes great outdoor pictures.Takes horrible indoor pictures no matter what the flash setting is it has poor quality with a dark horrid reddish cast.If you do manage to get a halfway decent indoor picture taken it will be sure to have bubbles in it.Videos taken indoors are almost unviewable but sound is ok.I was really hoping for better than what I got judging from the rest of the reviews as they were what influenced my decision in purchasing this camera.I have been disappointed from buying products based in reviews enough now that that Im not going to base my decision to buy them on reviews anymore.It just holds true time and time again the saying,"You get what you pay for."And with a camera like this your better off investing that $100 and throwing in another $100 or more for something worth your time.

I was surprised when I got this camera in the mail. For the price, and the features, this is a great deal. The camera itself is solid in weight and doesnt look or feel cheap in any way. I was impressed by images that it produces and the features it has. I have not yet used the software, but I am glad that I got such a great deal!

The camera is awesome. Tha Quality of the pictures are very very nice. In te box says:
- Fine: 2271 x 1704 (Hardware Enhancement)
- High: 2048 x 1536
- Low 1024 x 768
The camera can record Video (With sound) and Audio. The Pictures are JPEG, Video is AVI format and audio is WAV. The options that I has are very good, (like red eyes control). It can be plugged to a TV and watch your videos or your pictures.
The size is like my Hand, and the height is like two Sony Ericsson T106, and, the weight ar very "fly"...
I plugged to my SuSE Linux 9.1 box and.. It works ver fine. I can access the device like another disk.. and I can use it like a Portable Disk.
I gave it 4 stars because de Video Quality ... it is very nice (Like watching a RealPlayer Video or a Windows Media Vide over Internet...) When you watch tme on your TV.. they look like Betamax movies... but.. if you want to record memorable stuff... is enough.
If you ar looking for a good great very nice camera... this is for you!

My experience is poor image quality, especially in high res shots. Im not aware of a Taiwan company making products in the USA?.... Id rather put in $20 more for one with an optical zoom with better reliability.

This camera was an excellent purchase. User friendly,easy instructions to follow, quality resolution,flash does not distort indoor pictures.Amazing results for the price., the carrying case is not sufficient for hardy use,but can easily substitute another one, its a small drawback for all the great features.
Would recommend this highly.

I am very pleased with this purchase. The sleek and small design of this camera left me skeptical of the quality, but to my suprise the quality is as good as any 4mp camera. It is also very user friendly, and easy to record and delete video. This camera is an excellent buy and I would recommend it to anybody that is looking for an inexpensive good quality camera.

My husb and I just bought this. When I got it in the mail I was scared it would be horrible because it was SOOO lightweight. Turns out its everything we wanted! Its easy to go thru the modes (i.e. video to camera, etc), the AA battery it needs lasts long, the quality is excellent, it came with a bunch of useful products, AND its easy to carry where ever you go.
Id definitely reccomend this product for parents. It takes a second to turn on and I have taken wonderful photos and videos of my toddler. Inside, as well as outside.
Oh and as for some idea of its memory capability: the 16 MB internally held about 2 min video and 20 photos.

I just received this camera and I have to say, its a good value for what it does. Its small and light, so its easy to carry. I dont like the little camera bag that came with it, since it offers virtually no protection against knocks. I used a 128mb media card and at Hi-Res it had a capacity of 192 pictures (I didnt use it to capacity). I took 3 15 second videos and about 47 shots. You can make a video up to the amount of memory you have (128mb = about 28 minutes). The quality of the pictures was excellent when viewed on screen and when printed out. The screen is very small, but adequate for framing and review. Personally, Im a viewfinder person. The video with sound was excellent. Photos taken indoors with the flash did not have the yellowish cast that many cameras in this price range have. The batteries still have plenty of charge to them, even with leaving the viewscreen on and several reviews of the photos and video. The one negative I found is that this camera has no facility for an a/c adapter, so uploads may chew battery power if that matters to anyone. I have a card reader, so it doesnt matter to me.
