Got this as a present for my daughter and son-in-law. They had surround sound with 4 Infinity speakers, but no center speaker or sub-woofer. Got this to give them an Infinity center speaker. It performs well, is a decent match to the other Infinity speakers and the kids are pleased, which is whats important.
(Now for the sub-woofer . . . actually Im not brave enough to get them a sub-woofer without consulting my daughter, who may not want her living room rattled and her 2 young children frightened.) On: 2008-01-30
This is one of those cases where you have to compare them together before making a final decision. Yes this is a good responsive center channel speaker entended for average use that is well suited for movies and music.
As much as I enjoy the Infinity Beta 250 I have to crown its big brother
for all out performance. There is no equal to the Infinity TSS 4000 series center channel speaker. This speaker is worth every dime that you will have to shell out for its overall performance. Either way Infinity has once again captured the music lovers attention. On: 2008-01-14
I have used the beta center for over a week now and I love the range of sound it gives me, It is a great speaker to own if you play a lot of music and movies. Very clear with no noticable distortions at high volume.I highly recomend if you have the ability to calibrate your listening positon to get the best sound out of this speaker. On: 2007-12-27
This speaker does well what it is designed for - reproducing the human voice. The dialogue in movies is clear and not drowned out by your other speakers. It is a little heavy but that seems to be the norm for the Beta series. I have the Beta 50s too. The construction is solid and it matches well with the other Beta series. I prefer to listen to music in stereo with out the center channel but it does hold up well. At first glance, the C250 looks to small compared to the Beta 50s but it also holds well against them. Ideally you should get the C360 if you have the Beta 50s but I didnt have enough space under my TV and didnt feel comfortable putting this monster on top. Im happy with the C250 though as it does what I wanted which was clear voices in movies. On: 2007-06-30
This speaker delivers speech so clearly, I no longer need subtitles on my DVDs! It complements my other speakers beautifully. The C250 is a bargain for the price. On: 2007-04-02
I got the beta c250 about a year ago at 1/2 off. It continues to be one of the best buys for me. Im still using it after upgrading everything else. It holds its own at high volume. Very good voice reproduction. Great for music as well. Excellent speaker. On: 2007-04-01
Its been a couple years since I got a couple of these. Not much has changed. Still very good voice reproduction. Great for music as well. Since I have two of them and the C360, I moved these to the back surrounds. They work excellent there as well. They just have to be aimed down towards listening level to get the most out of them. These are built so solid, even a drop from 5 feet up onto thin carpet covered concrete just made a chip. You hit these things with your knuckles and they dont make a hollow sound at all. After getting many center speakers, I use these as a reference to compare build quality. If you have a lower wattage amp, you wont get the most out of these. Even if it is "high current". It may distort, but that would be your amp, not the speakers. If I could rate stars over again, I would give this a 5 now. I would also give the C360 a 5 for price/quality. Although, it may cause a divorce. Its big! On: 2007-02-21
I continue to be very pleased with the sound quality from this Center Channel Speaker. I use it in a 5.1 surround sound configuration and didnt know what I was missing until I hooked it up. Recommended
