Audiovox FPE3000: didn't last long, no parts available     On: 2008-06-17

I bought Audiovox FPE3000 about 3.5 years ago in Sams Club and paid for it about $1,200. Was working fine at the beginning but 1.5 years down the road pair of visible vertical marks were developed. Most of the programming we watched were in 4:3 format and the edges of these format burned these vertical marks which were readily seen when switched to 16:9 ratio. Finally, 3.5 years after purchasing, the TV died. I called Audiovox customer service dept and was told that there is now warranty on any parts including the light bulb which supposed to last 50,000 hours (which is equivalent to 5.7 years of non-stop work 24/365). I was also told that there are nor replacement parts available (without even asking which parts I may need) and suggested to call 4-6 weeks later (!) to find out about parts.
Id say steer away from this brand if you are looking for a new TV. There are better options out there in terms of quality and customer service.
Beware of Audiovox     On: 2007-06-12

I purchased a FPE3000 Audiovox tv and the ac power is a box separate from the tv. The fans have gone bad and I have been trying for 6 months to order them or buy a new power box. A $2,000 TV THAT I CAN NOT WATCH.

AUDIOVOX WILL NOT HELP YOU, THEY SEND YOU OFF ON THE WILD GOOSE CHASE OF YOUR LIFE. I HAVE FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTIONS OF WHO TO CALL, LEFT EMAIL AND NEVER A RESPONSE. AUDIOVOX HAD ME CALL THE NUMBER OF PRIMA ELECTRONIC, I HAVE TRIED A HUNDRED TIMES (THEY COVER THE PARTS FOR AUDIOVOX)AND HAVE NEVER BEEN CONNECTED TO A PERSON. THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD AND THEN HANG UP ON YOU. AGAIN, BUYER BEWARE OF AUDIOVOX PRODUCTS
Problems With White Screens: Not Recommended     On: 2006-02-28

My father bought this TV at Sams Club and has had trouble with it from the beginning.

Whenever the screen has too much white space, the TV will blank out and go into a blue screen. Sometimes it returns to the program after a couple of seconds, sometimes it doesnt. You can imagine the trouble this caused during the winter Olympic games. It will blank out as often as every 20 seconds, and doesnt stop.

My father took it to the warranty service, and they gave him a new television. He hooked it up to our Comcast Digital Cable and... it did it again. Either the warranty office scammed him, or 2 out of 2 televisions had this problem.

This might be a compatibility problem with our particular cable company, or it could be the TV itself. We dont know. But we certainly would not recommend this television to anyone.
Terrific Value     On: 2005-03-17

This TV is a great value. It has inputs for everthing, but only two sets of audio inputs, one for regular tv and one for HDTV. I bought a Radio Shack automatic audio switch for under $50 which works great with this TV. I am 100% satisfied, have had it for about two months now. I bought it at BJs for $1,395. One of the best things is that it comes with a wall mount, which I used.
Excellent Value     On: 2005-01-20

My wife and I saw the Audiovox FPE3000 in a Sams Club just before Christmas. It was selling for $1,299, far less than on Amazon and anywhere else we looked. We decided to buy it on the spot.

We have been very very pleased with performance and quality of the picture on this LCD TV. We added HDTV to our cable service after getting the TV, and its an absolute treat to watch HD programming on this screen.

And well-produced DVDs look more brilliant than they ever could on a standard television.

All in all, we think its well worth the money we paid.
