More Information

Very good carrying case     On: 2007-09-02

Apple shipped me this case when I first bought an iPod. It is hands down the sleekest case around. I have had it for over 2 years, and used this in the gym, in the car and while traveling. You cannot use the click wheel, however since I primarily use the Griffin Air Click remote, this is not an issue. I am buying a new one after misplacing the original.
Versatile carry clip     On: 2007-01-21

You can usit for Ipods Photo and same sizes ipods. Also i usit for my Casio Exilim Zoom Series and my Creative Zen Visión M. Fits great. Esasy belt clip. Good quality. Original apple manifactured in China.
Great case!     On: 2006-01-21

I like to have my ipod free from any case or cover when I use it because it makes the wheel easier to use. If you are like me, this case is great! It is very durable, and the ipod fits snug so it will not come out unless you want it to. I also have not had any problems with scratching like others have mentioned. I noticed, though, that if you are not careful, dust, dirt, etc. can get in the case which might account for the scratching others have had. However, just a quick shake cleans it out. Dont wait to buy this product!
Look at the Belkin Leather Flip Case for iPod     On: 2005-12-01

instead of high-quality Schoeller "woven nylon" overpriced because its an official APPLE product take a look at this

Belkin Leather Flip Case for iPod
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000ULGP8/103-7100148-9677456?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=172282
currently on sale for fourteen dollars

in this picture you can see that the front of the case covers the click wheel just like the Apple case does.

I personally like that because I need tough protection and just carry the ipod in its case in a bag or purse and its safe with a tough case like this.
Waste of money     On: 2005-09-16

Instead of getting this just get the cheaper skins. I figured to get the nicer one since I already shelled out all my money on an iPod, but it is a lot of money for a carrying case. Definetly get the skins.
waste of money -     On: 2005-09-09

the case looks nice, but not practical. Everytime you need to change the volume or track you have to pull your ipod out. My ipod had scratch marks on it the first week. Unfortunately, all the picture you see of this case is from the side view, so you cannot see that there is no opening for the wheel and the display. I recommend iskin product.
Great carrying case     On: 2005-09-03

This is a overall convient carrying case. IT DOES NOT SCRATCH you ipod in anyway. This is a great case for jogging or everyday use, it has a belt clip that works very well. great and simple case, i highly recommend it for everyday use.
Sleek, but lacks functionality     On: 2005-08-26

I like the case for its sleek design and finish. But wish it was open from front to operate ipod while in the case. Its a pain to pull out everytime to change song or settings or look at the menu.

There are others in the market that give that ease of operation, but they are not as good in design and finish!!
Handy useful     On: 2005-08-21

Very useful, nice and good product, not what i was thinking of....you cant manage de ipod when its in to it. Anyway i can say that is a good producto.
IiPOD Carry Case     On: 2005-07-28

Opposed to the other reviews, I like this product. It looks good and rather than causing scratch has actually prevented scratches from taking place. This product has a more chic look than the neoprene competitors on the market. Would definitely purchase one again if lost.
This clip caused my iPod to fall into a toilet!!     On: 2005-03-05

Its true. The first time I took my iPod 60 Gig out on my belt, I was at a restaurant and used the bathroom. As I unzipped my pants, the Carrying Case -- with my iPod in it came right off my jeans and fell into the toilet. Apple should be ashamed of themselves for making this thing. The design of the clip can not hold the weight of the iPod. And, like another one on this site said, yes, it does scratch the silver back and screen portion of your iPod. Apple executives have been known for their innovative design -- however this is not one of them. Instead, XtremeMac makes a plastic belt clip device that does not scratch your iPod in any way and stays on your pants no matter what.
I have two of these but never used them!     On: 2005-02-08

I got this case as part of my iPod 40GB (3G) and iPod Photo 60GB - but never really used them since there is no point in having a case that prohibits you from using the controls. Looking at a product like this one, as well as the iPod dock, I am made to think that the creators of iPod assumed that users would use them un-adorned (I mean, without a case)... What else explains the fact that the much-hyped dock becomes unusable when the iPod is in a case - so does the iPod when it is put into this Apple product?

Interestingly, this case - along with a wired remote - used to come free with 3G iPods. But that stopped with the 4G iPods which also saw a decrease in iPods price. The carrying case shipped free along with iPod photo 40GB and iPod photo 60GB, until 23 Feb 2005 when Apple announced a major upgrade to the iPod line-up.

Since this case hugs the iPod tightly, it is quite possible that the sensitive and shiny iPod surface gets scratched or dirty with fingerprints. In fact, for this very reason that I never used my twin cases.

As another reviewer has rightly pointed out, you could still use this case if you put all your songs in a single playlist and use the wired remote to control the iPod - probably while jogging with the iPod tucked into your belt. Probably that is a thin minority of users.

I personally prefer a case where the iPod stays put while exposing the controls. You may want to see my other reviews for more details.

Recommended only if you dont mind the scratches and finger prints on your iPod. Also, note that you might want to buy a wired remote to control the iPod to make better use of this case.
$ 28.99 for this??     On: 2005-01-18

When I first reviewed this product, I entitled it "39.99 for this??" OK- They lowered the price to $28.99. Thats still too high!!

The following is the original review in its entirety:

The case holds the iPod snugly, so you can run, bike, etc without worrying about it slipping out of the case. After I opened the packaging, and saw the goods, I was shocked at the price. I guess they feel the higher price is justified because it has an Apple logo on the internal tag. The price point on this should be about $11.99. Not worth the money.
Wonderful, simple case - used with remote, it's perfect     On: 2005-01-14

Everyone uses their iPod differently. I have the remote control cord attached to mine and thus have no need to regularly use the iPod itself to change songs, volume, etc. Contrary to other experiences, I did not find that the case scratched my iPod.
Not what you think...     On: 2004-11-26

This case was a huge disappointment when I opened it. Its very plain and certainly nothing special. You cant interact with your iPod while its in this case, its merely a covering and cheap one at that. The only thing this MIGHT be ok for is dust protection while its not in use. If youre looking for great protection for your 3G, 4G or Photo iPods, take a look at RadTechs Cocoon. www.radtech.us/Products/iPodAccessories.aspx
Its $40 and comes with a clear protective skin that straps into the hard shell cocoon. Theres a place to keep your earbuds and you have access to the click wheel. It also comes with a neck lanyard and belt clip, which is great for those of us who have a hard time keeping up with stuff unless its attached to our body. Its most definitely worth the few extra bucks. You DO get what you pay for.

iPod Case is nice however .....     On: 2004-09-02

I thought the iPod carrying case looked great and I was happy with it however about a week later I saw marks on my iPod and returned it for a full refund. The case left scratch marks on the side of my iPod and marks on the side of the screen! Its true what my friends said about it ... "the case is not worth the price" ... but I had to see for myself. I guess you can say I learned the hard way. But the bright side was they forced me to get a iskin exo from iskin.com. BOY was I sooooo excited when I received it a few days later and its great!!! Theres different color cases and even glow in the dark cases as well! Its hard to describe it in words you just have to see for it yourself. Its way better than the iPod carrying case in that its cheaper and has a soft touch when it wraps around your iPod and will not leave a scratch!
severe waste of money     On: 2004-08-23

I love my ipod but with this carry case, I cannot interact with it. You have no control of anything aside from the hold switch. It feels too much like a marketing gimmick to get you to buy the inline remote earphones, as this is the only way to regain control. I sent it back 5 minutes after opening it. The monster isport case is another option which allows access to the front but the clip is very loose and the case too large. My 40GB click wheel ipod absolutely swims in it, nearly falling out. Still searching in desperation though you can quite easily control the click wheel through the material of a pocket. Perhaps still the best for this very fragile and slippery bit of kit.

Not a bad case really, but a bit over-priced.     On: 2004-08-18

I use this case primarily for transporting the iPod because when Im listening to the iPod, I typically just place it in my shirt pocket by itself. I didnt want a case that is made to stay on the iPod full time-they add too much bulk, seal in too much heat, and often look weird, covering up the beautiful design of the iPod itself. I much prefer the ability to easily slip the iPod in and out of a case, which is why I recommend this slipcase. You do need something to put the iPod in when transporting it even if you are like me and actually prefer no case. I really wouldnt want to throw my iPod loose by itself into my backpack or car seat or drawer or whatever without any protection.

I like the fact that the top of this case is open because that means you dont have to unplug the headphones as often. Sometimes, I clip the case belt clip to my inside jacket pocket and I have a fairly secure place to put the iPod when Im listening to it. Ive also clipped it to the car sun visor when Ive been a passengar on a long car trip. I also have the option of wearing the iPod on my belt with this case, which I will sometimes do when gardening or going for a walk and I dont have a shirt or jacket with pockets.

As you can probably tell, my iPod usage is quite variable and I think this is the best case for multi uses. I have yet to find one thats any better for me. It seems to suit all of my needs adaquately although it may not be perfect, I dont find it difficult to quickly slide the iPod out of this case to adjust the controls or look at the display

But I dont feel this case represents a good value at the full retail price. Its simply too expensive at that price.

Its cool....but....     On: 2004-08-17

Ok, i just bought a iPod 20GB, and it came with the ipod dock, a remote control, and the case, this case is very proper and very nice, but if your ipod falls on the upper corners, the ipod may be damaged
Expensive and inconvenient     On: 2004-08-17

This is not a bad carrying case. Its clip works fine, and it holds the 20GB, fourth generation iPod tight. But for the price, one should be able to access the click wheel!

The click wheel is arguably the best thing about the new generation of iPods. Its a shame that Apple didnt design a carrying case that allows a person to use it while carrying the iPod. Ive resorted to carrying my iPod in my pocket until someone comes along with a case that allows me to change songs and adjust the volume while carrying the iPod with me.
