Portable DVD     On: 2007-10-23

This product is ok , but dont take it on a long trip, the movie you will see wont last, ( half the movie will be seen).
Not a good investment!     On: 2007-01-10

It would have been a great buy. I bought back in May of 06. I used it on a trip to Jamaica, and for movies in bed. Unfortunately, all of a sudden, the screen has gone completely black and you cant watch anything anymore. The features didnt work well, the menu button never worked. I was happy but after occasional use, it is already not usable after only 8 months of owning. I wouldnt recommend for anything other than the big screen. Very disappointing, not a good investment.
Good but not great     On: 2006-12-13

I bought this player with the impression that it is an all region DVD player. Turns out that this isnt one. The remote sucks, doesnt work well with it, if at all. The only BIG positive is the screen size. Cant find one as big as this one at this price.

Almost Perfect....     On: 2006-05-02

The video and sound playback on this unit is pretty awesome. The only thing that kind of sucks about it is the short battery life. I was only able to get about 2 hours of movie time per full battery charge. My solution to the short battery life was to pick up a batterygeek dvd battery which gave me an additional 7 hours of movie time per charge. In short, if I could go back in time I still would have bought the AMW-M520 however I just would have picked up that extended battery pack sooner.
Would not recommend - no warranty     On: 2006-04-25

I just purchased this item and even though Amazons website says there is a warranty, I just got off the phone with amazon customer service and they confirm these are refurbrished units and were going to update the website to indicate that there is in fact no warranty provided.
A great Value     On: 2006-04-19

Bought this DVD player 4 days ago and have enjoyed it ever since. It has many features and a good picture. You cant beat the large screen. I like the zoom feature especially. Another feature I like is that the battery fits flush with the dvd player in back so that you dont have a bulky protrusion when its attached. The sound is not loud as others have said but I have yet to find a portable DVD player that has good sound. Youll have to use external speakers or ear phones(included). Another thing I notice is that DVD-RW or DVD+/- R are not supported. They play but the menu system does not work. You have to access the file manually. That being said I cannot find this size dvd player anywhere else for less than $299. The shipping was fast and free. There is a stamp on the manual stating that the unit is sold "as-is" but the unit I got was brand new and not refurbished. So far so good. I dont thonk you will be disappointed.
No Manual     On: 2006-02-17

I didnt get a manual with mine. Cant find one online either. Buyer beware.
DVD That Does It All!     On: 2006-01-06

Ive shopped for a lot of DVDs, and this one seems to be a good mix of many features together with better than average (very high possibly) quality. I had found most of the features I wanted (like PAL and NTSC playback) but only on junk second-third tier brands. I found out about this unit after going to Radio Shack and looking that their unit (which is the M510 unit). Came home and did an internet search and found them on Amazon.

The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is not the units fault, but Amazons. I bought the unit from Amazon as a new unit. When I received it, the manual had a red stamp on it saying that This unit is purchased in AS IS condition and is not warranted by the original manufacture, but only by the outlet where purchase was made. I dont understand this at all and intend to contact Amazon about it tomorrow.
