I purchased this product to replace a Channel Master amp I returned after it quit working in less than 2 weeks. I am using it to boost signals from an antenna, not cable. It works great & I have not had any breakup of my HD reception since installing it. I am about 20 miles from the station signal towers. Highly recommend. On: 2007-07-03
The difference was immediate and dramatic when this amplifier was installed. Prior to installation, the combination of a long cable run and a 3-way lossy splitter caused the picture on all of the TVs (and TiVo) to be grainy and snowy. After installation the picture is crisp and clear. Installation was simple, and I appreciated the use of a coax cable for the power supply. Despite the fact that I had to install a new power outlet in the attic to use this device, it was well worth the effort. On: 2007-02-07
I am now able to receive all the HD channels comcast offers, and without any glitches.
My cable internet connection is much more stable, and reliable. And because of the stability, my upload/download speeds have "increased", meaning they remain at a constant "high" rate continuously.
This device is great. On: 2007-02-06

I purchased this item in the hopes that it would cure the audio dropout and video corruption issues I have been having with Comcast digital cable. With the Comcast -provided splitter, both my Series 3 TiVo and my Domcast DVR experienced these half-second to 2-seconds audio dropouts every so often, and most of the time they were accompanied by a momentary video corruption. Kind of annoying. I thought based on some other reports from users of Series 3 TiVos who also have Comcast that this might help, but all it did was make things significantly worse!
With the cable coming in straight from the pole, no splitter, I had a signal strength on the Series 3 of 94. With the Monster Cable TGHZ-4RF splitter, I still have a signal strength of 94. With the Channel Vision C-0314, I had a signal strength of 73. It introduced three new kinds of corruption and artifacting that happened much more frequently. Its just not useful in any way.
The good news is it did not slow my cable modem down at all. On: 2007-01-22

Trying to get my cable modem and cable TV working optimally was a nightmare but this product fixed everything. Im in a rural area and far off the road which creates challenges for cable. The cable company thought I was having a grounding problem, but changing the grounding did not fix it. At first, I had a passive splitter and Motorola 484095-001-00 Signal Booster and it worked ok for a few months, although my cable internet had high packet loss and was slow. After a couple of months the cable modem would lose signal intermittently and then stopped working. After giving up on the cable company, I replaced their old clunker modem with a Motorola SB5120, and I tried various "high quality" passive splitters with no luck. The CHANNEL VISION C-0314 fixed the problem. My cable internet and TV have been working great for months now and without the high packet loss that I was having before. The CHANNEL VISION C-0314 is a cleaner solution as well, since it is an active splitter, and everything is in one unit. I bought a second one, just in case anything happens to it. :)
