I would recommend this product. I use it in my car with the adapter so that I can listen to my audio books. The only draw back is that it does not remember what track you left off at therefore you have to manually go back to that track when you start it up again. The sound and skip protection is great.

Within 10 days of buying this product, the Lid of the CD player does not close and lock properly. Poor mechanism. Need to get it replaced.

This product shows low battery display even when I put in brand new batteries. How can a new unit have such a problem. Unfortunately I have not saved the product packaging, otherwise I would have returned it.

This device worked properly for a few months, but then had issues reading mp3 discs and started emitting a hum. And the anti-skip protection was non-existent. I would not recommend purchasing this unit. Spend a little more to get something of higher quality.

This product is trash. The display did not work, and it skips tracks constantly. Colby also charges you 6 dollars to repair or replace their defective product. Its cheaply priced, but in the long run will cost you more money as you try to repair it. When the repair doesnt work, youll end up spending more money on a better product.

The item quit working after about a week of use. It just simply quit playing CDs altogether. I procrastinated and waited longer than 30 days to seek a refund, now Im stuck with sending it back to the manufacturer. They require a $6 shipping/handling fee, which is too much considering the cost of the item. Ill just trash it and buy a Sony, which I should have done in the first place.

Thus far, Ive used my CD player only a few times, but it seems overall to work well. The only problem Im having is that it likes to randomly skip in songs at times, sometimes forward, sometimes backward. The display is a little small. But it is a good player for the price, if you cant afford a better one.

I bought this item recently so that I could listen to mp3 cd audio books on my commute. Due to the price and brand name I had expected the item to be lesser quality but I had expected it to work; it didnt. It would play for a few minutes and then stop for several minutes as the anti-skip feature worked over time trying to compensate for a non-existent skip. The player wouldnt even work consistently on flat non-moving surfaces like a table. Save your money and put it towards a decent MP3 CD player. I bought a Phillips for about $50 and it works flawlessly under all conditions.

I bought this for a friend who has no computer access. With lots of MP3 songs in one CD... he loved it and enjoyed a lot.

The top doesnt close good and the esp actually skips. I really dont think this product measures up at all. Its awesome that it plays mp3s but I hate that it skips and I have to keep making sure that nothing gets in under the huge gap between the bottom and the top.

For the price I paid for this CD Player, it sounds great. Sometimes Coby makes nice products. I would recommend this CD Player to anyone low on cash.

has way exceeded all expectations! this is an awesome sounding little player. easy to use, has a great big sound, great bass and no skipping, and thats a plus as i use it alot waiting at doc offices and other appointments. the only con to this is, it seems that the batteries dont last so long. however with the battery compartment outside the player it is really easy to replace the batteries. no need to open the player and remove the disc to reload batteries. I love it! thanks!

People who use Amazon are hardly the type who have the time to return defective items. this thing didnt work out of the box. So it cost me 30 bucks to learn to limit Amazon to books etc no Big ticket items ever!

Long time customer of Amazon since the 90s and never seen a product as disappointing as this. It skips, stops and totally unreliable. It is cheap in price and productivity. It is better to pay a bit more and get a better wav/mp3-player.

Need a magnifying glass to read the text on the screen. Very unfriendly controls. To make it complete, it didnt function properly. Have to send it back to manufacturer and hope for the best since Amazons return ploicy on open items isnt very nice. Stay away from this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this for the Mp3 capability. Not only does it do that well, it sounds incredible when used in my car. Only complaint is that it does take about 10-15 seconds to skip songs sometimes and tends to "stutter" a little when playing from one song to the next. Aside from that, this is a great CD player.

Well...I took a chance and got something based on the low price. I knew that it was kinda risky not to follow my instincts. After only a few uses, it broke. Oh well...I just took it as a lesson and moved onto Sony.

I bought it for my sister to play CDs and MP3s. She and bro in law arent all that computer saavy, so this appeared easier than MP3 hard drive and having to download off computer. I actually hadnt used one like this before, so had to learn myself. We put in MP3 disc and it started to play, no problem. Skipped ahead and back when asked to do so. I didnt check all features in short space of time, but basic features worked great. I have a Creative Muvo Slim which is a better way to go for computer saavy, but this unit is good introduction to format.

The only problems I found with this player are that the display is very small and hard to see if you are optically challenged as I am. Also, as mentioned somewhere below by another reviewer, it takes a long time to click through to a particular song, say #10 on the CD. I assume this is due to the 120 second skip protection, which is rather large.
But on the other hand, it is light, thinner than my last CD player (a Philips)and louder than my last CD player. I bought this with the Sennheiser headphones which are an over-the-ear headphone so they dont hurt your ears. The two work well together. Another plus is this player plays a long time on two batteries; my last player took four.
For the money, I can recommend it, especially since with 120 second skip protection you can practically take this thing on a trampoline and not have an interruption in your music.

This product is far by the worst CD player Ive ever owned. Its takes a while for the songs to read on the CD and the songs will randomly stop while the eye tries to read the disc. At first I thought it was just my CD, but I changed it through 8 CDs and the same thing happened. The anti-skip is also terrible like stated above. I wouldnt recommend this cancerous CD player to anyone. The headphones are also VERY uncomfortable. Please dont waste your money.

I bought this yesterday and it works as expected. Good sound, and quality play.
But I keep hearing a constant humming sound when the player reads the disc.You can hear it when u keep a low volume and listen...did any once else had this problem ??

I bought two of this cd-mp3 player, and they works perfect. Great sound and it reads cds w mp3 very nice. No skip at all. I recommend this product. I bought them at 20.95 and i made my sister happy with it;)

This is a great little portable. I use it in my car and love it to death. The sound quality is great, and the 120-sec skip protection works perfectly, In fact, in the two days I have been driving around with it (and I drive a LOT), it hasnt skipped once.
Where else ya gonna find a portable CD/MP3 player for less than 25 bucks?! And a good one to boot! Thank you Amazon, thats why I love ya.

I do not normally buy electronic products that are not from older established brand names. but I was desparate to replace my five month old Panasonic SL-SX450 player which stopped working a week earlier (I use it for jogging).This model seemed quite affordable and was well recommended. Using a different headphone the Coby MP-CD521 has good sound quality but the battery life is terrible (4-5 hours on Duracell).In my car the anti-skip protection is a joke.This product may be useful in the homes of stationary people.It is definately NOT for active people.
