I bought this camera a little over a year ago. Recently when you turn the camera on the lens comes out and than the camera turns it self off. I tried new batteries without success. It was never dropped or had liquid spilled on it. The camera use to take good outdoor shots, but indoors the pictures were always poor. Unless you are right on top of your subject the photo would be very dark. On: 2007-12-17
I bought this camera a little over a year ago.
I never dropped it or exposed it to liquid, and now it powers
up then powers down. It is broke.
I have had tons of problems with the software.
i would not recommend this camera by: doctor_beth On: 2007-03-30
Although not quite an amateur photographer, I have always loved taking pictures. As digital technology became more popular, I clung to my film camera, a Kodak APS that I loved. I received a cheap, no-name digital camera as a gift, and I thought that would be sufficient to handle any digital needs I might have. Boy, was I wrong!
Things changed for me when my husband bought me the Kodak EasyShare C360 and Printer Dock last Christmas. Although I still feel a bit guilty to admit this, I love my EasyShare digital camera more than any film camera Ive ever owned! It is extremely easy to use and yet has a great variety of options. For basic picture-taking, there is an auto feature; simply turn the dial to it and go. However, you can also chose from several other alternatives, including action, close-up, portrait, and landscape. In addition, the camera has a separate series of "scene" settings which allow you to customize your picture-taking even further--these scenes include children, beach, snow, even fireworks! I especially like using the indoor party setting, which eliminates the poorly lit, poorly exposed indoor shots that you get with other cameras, and the self-portrait, which makes for some fun shots. Oh, did I mention that this camera makes movies, too? The video and sound quality is excellent.
Now on to the printer dock. The best thing about this feature is that when you are not using the camera, you simply set it back down on the printer dock to recharge. This works perfectly for recharging the camera after relatively short (e.g., a day or two) usage periods, but for longer trips, I purchased an inexpensive battery recharger. So far, the only time I had to swap out the batteries was when I was away for a long weekend and took several hundred pictures at my sisters wedding (and even then, the camera didnt start to lose its charge until the very end of the weekend). The printer dock also provides an easy way to transfer the pictures from the camera to your computer, although you can print pictures directly from the camera. I havent used the actual print features of the printer dock very often, but when I have, Ive been impressed with the high quality photos produced.
The camera itself provides wonderfully clear, sharp images, whether you are just viewing them on your computer, printing from the printer dock, or printing elsewhere (e.g., the Kodak Gallery online, which is what I usually do). The camera also offers many additional features that I dont use, such as being able to tag pictures to share. I do use the excellent zoom, the timer function, and the burst photo option (lets you take a rapid series of pictures). The 32 MB of memory is sufficient for casual use, but since memory cards are readily available and relatively inexpensive, I upgraded to a 1 GB memory card, which allows me almost 800 photos. The one minor complaint I have about this camera is the accompanying EasyShare software. Although it is convenient--especially with the ease of uploading your pictures to the online Kodak Gallery--I think it could have been much more user-friendly.
Overall, however, I am thrilled with this camera and printer dock combination, and I would highly recommend it to other casual photo enthusiasts like myself! On: 2007-01-15
I got caught up in the frenzy of black Friday 1 1/2 years ago and bought this camera for $150. What a mistake. Its a fine camera except for the exposure problems that ruin at least 75% of the pictures I have taken. In a regular indoor setting (unless there is lots of sunlight), the background is almost always black or has a yellowish-orange tint. At other times (for unknown reasons), faces are completely washed out. I have finally decided to buy something else; Im tired of not having any decent photos of my kids. by: Anonymous On: 2006-12-18
When I first purchased this digital camera I thought it was a sexy and chic photo taking machine. It was absolutely not. The design is actually rather bulky and obtrusive compared to the other cameras on the market today. There are many exposure problems, especially indoors. It seems as though you either have a whited out face with no detail or you cant even see the face because it is not lit enough. Outdoor pictures are at best decent, which is subpar considering this is a five megapixel camera. The only plus, in my opinion, is the durability of the camera. The day I bought it I dropped it out of my car and it hit hard asphalt and there was nothing but a minor scratch on the front. This is not my first Kodak camera, but it sure is my last. I would reccomend the Canon Powershot SD630 or the Sony Cybershot DSC T10 over this camera. Although slightly more expenisve they give you much better exposure and resolution and their controls are much more simple and easy to use than this Kodak. On: 2006-12-13
I bought this camera and I think is the best camera purchase that Ive made. The low price vs its great performance. It takes high quality pictures even in dim light conditions. Also it have a lot of predifined scenes to used in different situations.
The only cons that I gave to this camera is that it doesnt have a battery charge indicator, only it shows this indicator when the battery is going to die. It will be an improvement if it has the indicator all the time on. On: 2006-09-08
I had this camera for less than 3 months when it would not turn on any more. I contacted Kodak and sent it in for repair under warrantee. After several weeks, Kodak contacted me a stated that the camera was not repairable and that the damage was not covered under warrantee. The stated that the problem was due to liquid damage and that if I wanted the damaged camera back I was going to have to pay them to return it.
This camera was never exposed to any liquid (at least not after I purchased it). I cant believe a company like Kodak would operate like this. I did a little research and found out that this power problem is common with this camera and yet they are trying to tell me that I am responsible, not their poor quality. They did state that they would be willing to give me a little discount on a new Kodak camera. WHAT A SCAM! I will never buy another product from this company. Stay away from this camera! I have had this camera for laast one week and I must say that this is a really good camera. All the pictures are very well exposed and looks very good. Even indoor pictures are really nice. The camera has many different useful scene setting. For better indoor, I used the tungesten setting to balance the orange color of the light bulb. I tried taking pictures of my sone while he was playing and I must say that the picture came very nice. Overall, I am very happy with this camera and would definitely recommend it. On: 2006-07-17
I really dont understand all the complaints about this camera. I have never experienced any of the problems that the others have had. In fact, its perfect. Takes great pictures, regardless of the setting (indoor or outdoor). The videos are awesome. Its sooo easy to use, that my 3 year old son even takes fantastic pictures with it. And, its clearly durable, as hes dropped it many times, and theres not a scratch on it. You can take multiple pictures at one time, which is nice, because you can capture those pictures that would be gone in a flash. I really think this is a great camera!!!! On: 2006-06-29
User interface is very easy, picture quality excellent, coloration very sharp, especially in the yellows which many cameras have trouble capturing the true brightness of a yellow.
However, Im a dad. Which means my shots are of my four year old sweetie at graduation, my seven year old sweetie in a class play, and dozens of indoor functions and simchas. Indoors, the pictures are flat out dark and worthless from more than six feet away even with forced flash. The best I could do was to set the exposure (see the setting in the menu that says "O/O")and set it to the highest number - 2.0. That gave me a bit more light, but it changed back to the default exposure each time I switched to video mode or shut down to conserve power. I wish there was some way to resolve this problem as I watch all the other dads wielding cameras that dont take as sharp or as fast pictures, but have bright screens even as they preview the shot before taking it, indoors without the flash. Did I buy this only to be an outdoor camera? I cant play that game. So while it is otherwise a great camera, and can take a drop to the floor to boot like most Kodaks can and most others cant, it is utterly useless to me for most of the functions I need it for. If you are a Kodak guy reading this and there is a simple answer, please post it here. Many others have had the same complaint. On: 2006-06-06
I received this camera/printer dock setup as a Christmas gift. I am always randomly taking pictures, and end up paying to develop film with pictures that either dont turn out well, or I didnt really want... So finally, I own a digital camera.
Although this is my first experience with any digital camera, I have to say that I have had ZERO problems with it. All the pictures look great; I love the autofocus feature (beware that when this is activated, it does drain battery power); the printer dock prints beautiful pictures - just like having film professionally developed (this is a huge plus for me as well). I like that this runs independently from the computer - I havent even hooked it up to my computer yet because I havent needed/wanted to share pictures. I like the small size, portability, ease of use for the camera and printer, the quality of prints, the quality of the stills and video, and the variety of preferences/options for use.
This would be a great camera for people who arent highly computer literate, who dont require expensive high tech gear for professional photography, and who want good quality pictures without much hassle. On: 2006-04-10
I bought the EasyShare c360 about a month ago. So far, Im very pleased with it. This camera has many features and takes beautiful pictures. It has all the essentials in a good camera: enough resolution, excellent picture quality, small size and good video. It is small enough to fit in a pocket, but still controls are very comfortable. Plus, it is very easy to use and the price is reasonable. Highly recommended. On: 2006-04-09
This camera is so user friendly that even a child can figure out how to use it. There are MANY features on this camera and 90% of them are simple to use. Very well researched when designing this product. Big 2 inch screen is easy to navigate thru all the different settings. Very affordable compared to other cameras in its class. I HIGHLY recommend this camera for beginners as well as the more experienced photographer. On: 2006-02-14
I bought this camera and have taken literally a handful of pictures with it. At first I was just disappointed because my Canon was stolen and thought that a Kodak with an extra MP would be moving up, because it wasnt! The quality of the picture was horrible! Then I decided to try the video recording only to have the thing turn off on me and, like one of the users before me found out, it refused to turn back on! The light would turn on, the screen would turn green and then,... shut off. I am extremly disappointed and a long time customer now searching else where. This is the worst camera on the market! I will start with the possitives, then share with you why it gets 1 star from me.
*Cute camera, nice and small and easy to hold in my hand.
*fast shutter speed unlike the Cannon A520.
*simple to figure out and use.
and now the not so nice things about the Kanon C360-
*The screen is pretty dark and not very clear.
*The microphone does not pick up much in movie setting, nor does it go very loud.
*The jog dial felt cheap and the camera not very solid and well built compared to the Canon.
*The camera completely locked up and would not take any more pictures after the 2nd day, it was not the batteries, we replaced them. There was no warning telling us what the problem was, it would turn on, the lights would flash, then it would shut down. No idea why... not impressed. Back to the store it goes.
Still in search of the best small, user friendly digital camera, the Canon A520 is close, but the shutter lag speed makes it impossible to take pictures of anything spontaneous, only posed pictures and still life shots.

This is one of the best 5 mp point and shoot cameras on the market. Takes excellent pics, very easy to use, made very well. Definately worth the price. On: 2005-12-01
Kodak C360- ($129+)This camera is very easy to use because it has automatic popup text messages that tells you what each setting is, the battery life is good (you should buy rechargeable batteries and 1GB of memory), and the picture quality is good even under low light conditions. (Night/close-ups - You need to try different settings so your images do not look grainy or dark.) The unlimited movie play/record mode (depending on your memory card) is awesome. The playback is loud and clear. Other cameras did not do as well. And I really like the flashing green light when the camera is turned on/off - just like a cell phone. On: 2005-10-31
When I read the the other reviews it sounds like theyre talking about another camera!
This camera is great.
I havent had any of the exposure problems that the others talk about.
It takes great pics and great video. I hardly use my digital cam corder anymore because I usually have this camera in my pocket with a 1 Gig Memory Card, ready to go.
All video captures are not made equal. This camera has no limit on the video length, like most do.
Also, go to the Kodak site and compare the Video Size and Frames Per Second (fps) with other cameras and youll see they dont compare.
For the price, I think youd have a hard time finding a 5 MP camera as good as this one. On: 2005-10-28
I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about. I bought this from Costco and it is awesome, I love it! There are so many modes to take pictures in!
It works pretty well under low light conditions, and the viewfinder is bright and easy to see. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. I just bought it for snapshots, but you could really get some wonderful shots with this camera! Much more than I expected. Its really small and compact. Mine came with a camera dock which is pretty cool to use. It also came with rechargeable battery so I am set! I love my new camera and will post some pics I took soon! On: 2005-08-10
I had high hopes for this camera. I have had around 15 digital cameras. It looked like this would be the one to give both good quality stills and video. The stills were far below average quality. Colors were far too saturated and dark. Exposure was seldom correct. the flash will not go off at less than 24 inches. I was not able to get a usable picture of my computers mouse because of this flash problem. I was able to get my money back. Kodak should never have released this model. On: 2005-07-28
This camera has all I expect...and more, great zoom, excellent resolution. And very easy to use no matter how your level of knowledge is in photography. The only thing I recommend to have in mind is the cost of batteries. Is better to buy rechargeable bateries (Niquel Metal).

Consistently underexposes indoor shots with and without flash.
Can not take picture with accurate exposure without flash ( I took an indoor picture without flash and it was almost completely black) Minolta Z2 took the same picture without a problem.
Poor picture quality, 5MP cameras shouldnt produce files 800-900kb files. Too aggressive of compression. Poor color (some dark red flowers actually captured as blue)
Monitor also poor quality. It may be 2in but has less quality than my Minolta Z2 at 1.5 in.
I purchased the C360 when BUY.com was offering 10% off and got it for 231$ with shipping and now I noticed that they will not except returns for this item. Must be because they know it is a big piece of S#%t and will lose money on it. (I know it is only a point and shoot camera but Very nice cameras are available for only a few more $s. A camera of any kind isnt of any value if it cant take a quality indoor picture) HUGE step down from my 4MP Minolta Z2. I got in a hurry and depended on the Kodak name as well as review of the CX model the C360 was replacing. BIG MISTAKE. If you question this review wait for a professional review before purchasing.
