These are amazing speakers for their size. The frequency response and the imaging are superb. And for the price? Excellent value! I have had none of the problems others have reported. I have rigged up a battery system and take them out to the mountains. Phenomenal portable sound! On: 2008-06-15
This is the best 2.0 PC speakers of all for the price range, crystal clear stereo sound with very solid base. I custom build PC for friends and quite of few people and i only use these speaker and they all very happy with the sound quarlity, the only down side is they are being sold out everywhere very hard to get them now, i hope they are not being discontinued that, would be very sad! Klipsch Promedia Ultra 2.0 PC Speaker System- Silver
You play the speakers for 2 days to break them in...Like a new car..
These computer speakers are easy to hook up...They sound like really
good stereo speakers...The treble is clear..The midrange is good..The
bass is also good...The price is reasonable...These computer speakers
just sound like really good stereo speakers...I did not pay much to get
these speakers...They are worth buying again... On: 2008-04-08
The Promedias sound great for about the first year. After that, the power switch/volume pot goes bad.
I wrote to Klipsch and asked about this, and they referred me to some third party company they said would fix this (not free.) I am not sure how much they would charge for this, but this is unacceptable. I have a nice set of paperweights now.
I will not be buying Klipsch again. On: 2008-04-04
I shopped forever for these speakers, i actually tried Bose companion 2, M-Audio av-30, and creative t20(all of those are great speakers too, but more expensive.
The speakers sound really good, bass response is impressive, and treble sounds excellent. They sound about as good as the other speakers I tested, but with even better bass response, but for 66$ instead of 99$.
The built quality and aesthetics definately leave alot to be desired, they almost seem to not sound as good, just because they seem so cheap. They are very plasticy, and fairly light and just generally cheap looking. But if you close your eyes, they really do sound amazing for what they are.
Give em a shot, they sound good, but dont expect em to be sexy while doing it. On: 2008-03-26
The speakers came on time. The box contained the two speakers, cables and power cord. They sound great in my office. I use the speakers for xm radio, youtube, etc. I tend to keep the volume low yet get a nice sound. I am very pleased with the value recieved for the price paid. I ordered the silver version which match my monitors very well. The transformer box for the plug is fairly large.

If you want booming bass , get the klipsch gmx 2.1 system . If you want quality sound and mild bass , get the klipch Promedia Ultra 2.0 . I got these to go with my portable dvd player . I am impressed with the quality of sound these little speakers put out .The highs are clear and the lows are distortion free . I tested these against the BOSE 2.0 Speakers and to me , these blew the Bose speakers away in terms of sound quality . Dont expect the sound that you would get from a dedicated surround sound system but when you dont want your neighbors knocking on your walls , these do just fine . If you dont care about your neighbors , get the Klipsch Gmx 2.1 . If you really want to annoy your neighbor to the point of having the police knock on your door , then get the Logitechs z680 5.1 (discontinued but if you can find them , get them!). I have all 3 sets to match my moods . hah hah hah On: 2008-03-14
We recently purchased these speakers and returned them today. They sounded great with impressive volume and quality. However, the speakers were included in a search result on Amazon for "wireless computer speakers" and they are not wireless. The combination of the incorrect tag/label and picture with no wires connected, including the blue light (typical for a wireless accessory) displayed prominently, is very misleading.
Weve rated a 2 due to being very disappointed over receiving an item different than what was suggested in the advertising. On: 2008-02-29
Excellent sound, good looks. Only regret is that this is a discontinued item by the manufacturer. Buy it while you can! On: 2008-02-14
Picked these up for the option to add different audio sources. The speakers look good with removable grills. The other reviewers are right when these speakers lack in range. Good for plain stereo applications if you have friends over. These are not good for personal listening or for watching movies. When these speakers are turned up, they sound labored. Somewhat like a bad American Idol audition when they think they can sing, but just sing really loud, and they think they sound good. Theres a very poor sound stage thats evident when you try different audio sources on the speakers. If you want something better for personal listening, check out the Bose Companion Series 2 - Ive been very happy with these speakers.

Liked the sound and design of these, including convenience of master speaker headphone jack. Sadly they died abruptly after less just under a year, so Im looking to other manufacturers in the future. On: 2008-01-21
Good product for the price. Completely satisfied with the audio quality. Sounds great hooked up to my computer or iPod. On: 2008-01-05
These are very capable speakers if you are looking for desktop/computer speakers without having to clutter up your work area with a subwoofer. As there seems to be numerous reports of problems with the speakers dying, it probably should not be used to "fill a room" with full range sound - if its used for just providing background music directly in front of you, it should be fine. If youre trying to "impress" the neighbors down the block with your earth-shaking bass, try a Cambridge SoundWorks Newton Series II P1005 Powered Subwoofer or some such thing; these are not the speakers for you.
To workaround any problem with the volume adjuster, I just keep it turned on to about 1/3rd and switch it off via a power strip.
More importantly though, if you are concerned with having a valid warranty, you cannot purchase it online in the U.S. anywhere except directly from Klipsch. The Klipsch website lists the only online authorized dealer as:
"Available online from the Klipsch Online Store for US customers only (sorry everyone else!)."
The only authorized dealers for brick and mortar stores are:
"Also available at Apple Stores, Best Buy, and CompUSA."
Consider any extra savings purchased from elsewhere as a fund toward possible repair expenses later on. On: 2008-01-05
These speakers have a nice exterior, which makes you want to like them, but they are unfortunately, seriously flawed on the inside! Its unclear as to which component it is, as Im not an electrical engineer, but it might be the capacitors (see Badcaps.###) Not a terribly difficult repair job, but upsetting to even have to think about it, given the price point for the speakers - Klipsch apparently is making a lot of money from using inferior circuitry covered in pretty plastic. Even with the possibility of getting an RMA from Klipsch if you purchased this at an "authorized dealer" (authorized dealer = "Available online from the Klipsch Online Store for US customers only (sorry everyone else!) The only authorized dealers brick and mortar stores = "Also available at Apple Stores, Best Buy, and CompUSA."), its still not worth the hassle, given that theyll replace it with another flawed product. So these nice looking speakers will sit on my desk like props for a furniture store - nice props Klipsch! Please make speakers that actually work!

I was looking for a while for a set of small, handy speakers to connect to my growing collection of MP3 players. After looking and listening in stores, I decided to look online for reviews of different systems. I was unaware that well-regarded companies like Klipsch made the type of speakers I was looking for. I ordered them through Amazon and have been happy with their performance. It was surprising to see how much they can bring out the deficiencies in many of the MP3 song files I have played through them. Playing straight from a CD player I can pump up the volume pretty high without much distortion. Certainly not adept at shaking a room like a larger system can, but plenty of usefulness for enjoying music clearly at reasonable volume. On: 2007-12-13
I was first introduced to Klipsch speakers when I was 19 years old and attending Purdue University. A engineering student buddy took me to the "Golden Ear" high fidelity store where I was exposed to the 1812 Overture, cannons and bells included, via a Mercury Living Presence LP. I was astounded at the perhaps bigger than life sound coming out of the Klipschorn speakers. At over a thousand dollars for the enormous speaker, it was way more than a student could afford but I vowed to have a Klipschorn one day. That day never came but I will never forget the solid, gut pounding sounds of the cannons coming from the Klipsch speakers. Now, in my elder years I came across these affordable speakers which have the Klipsch name and retain some of the famous Klipsch quality that I have admired through the years. Paul Klipsch has passed out of the picture and the speakers are made in China rather than Hope, Arkansas but these are quality speakers and well suited for PC sound. I got them for my laptop which plays DVDs but sounds so miserable, you dont want to listen to soundtrack. These inexpensive speakers have the clarity and range you want and need for movie audio. And jazz music sounds very good on them too. No deep bass and certainly nothing like Klipschorn sound from these little speakers, but minimal distortion and maximum clarity you can expect. For the price, they are exceptional. If you buy them for your PC or to occasionally play your MP3 music, you will not be disappointed. On: 2007-11-28
The speakers have great sound but after 6 months the speakers would quit without warning. I checked Klipsch message board and this seemed to be a common problem. On: 2007-05-13
These speakers sounded quite nice for me while they worked, with a nice crisp upper range. However, after a few months they intermittently stopped producing sound. Id recommend you stay away from these speakers --- they could clearly do with better quality control. On: 2006-12-16
I would have loved these speakers had I not already owned the Klipsch GMX A 2.1 set. I was willing to sacrifice some bass to ditch my bulky subwoofer, which is why I bought the silver ProMedia speakers in the first place. While they sound good for what they are, they couldnt match the GMX set, which costs about the same but has a sub.
OK, so this wasnt a surprise -- I already said that I was prepared to sacrifice some bass, but the ProMedia speakers didnt sound as good in the mids or highs as the GMX kit. They simply had a lot less depth, no matter how I tried to equalize away the difference. They sound quite good when you are right in front of them, but they cant fill the room like the GMX.
In short, Klipsch spoiled me and I sent the ProMedia speakers back, but Im still giving them four stars because I cant imagine speakers in this form factor sounding much better -- but if you can spend a few extra dollars and have room for a subwoofer, look at the GMX speakers. You dont have to be an audiophile to appreciate the difference. On: 2006-12-15

With these speakers, youre not going to get high-volume or house-shaking bass. If thats what you want, buy something else. These are $100 computer speakers, not a replacement for your home stereo.
I chose these speakers over the Bose Companion 2 (exact same price, and arguably the same sound quality) for the following reasongs:
1) The Bose model looks "plasticy", the Klipsch dooesnt (I have the black model, btw)
2) The Bose model doesnt have an on/off switch, the Klipsch does
3) The Bose models line in is on the back, the Klipsch has it on the front (easier to get to)
I rate sound quality as 8.5 out of 10 (vs. my home stereo at 10/10). Dont expect audiophile sound from these little speakers, and youll be happy with them.
My only complaint is the volume dial: the knob is solid black and you cant see how high you have the volume turned up. A little white on the knob would be a big help. On: 2005-08-05
Hi, i had before logitech speakers x-530, and i was ok until i saw the reviews of the pro media, so i dicided to buy it.
the first diference i notice is the good mids and highs. but for the people that say its has good bass response, therere wrong. may be because i got used to the bass sound of logitechs but ultra pormedia dont have that boomy sound.
so if you plan to buy these speakers, you should get a subwoofer too!
I heard Metalica dvd audio its just amazing!
i had an audigy 2 zs with logitech x-530 and with ultra promedia 2.0
the three together it outstandig!
Pros:
good mids, highs, easy instalation
movies, music sounds perfect.
cons:
poor bass,
sometimes sounds gets distored when volume is high!
but its not necesary to turn the volume up, because it is too loud despite of being only 15 watts per channel. Amazing!
