The 80GB hardrive is great for recording tv shows to watch later. I do not recommend getting a DVD recorder without a hardrive. With 8 slots to schedule recording the machine seems easy to set up recording schedules. The only thing I dont like is the editing features. I still havent figured out how to take out commercials, and if you record 2 (1)hour long shows and record them together there is no way to seperate them.
