Terrible product, batteries don't charge properly, would give negative stars if I could     On: 2008-03-04

This product works very poorly, especially if you are attempting to use rechargeable batteries. Id say 80% of the time when I try to recharge it, it is unsuccessful and I have to totally discharge and recharge the batteries -- which takes more than 8 hours. And sometimes even the total discharge-recharge cycle does not work.
The quality of the pictures is not great either -- using the zoom lens to the slightest degree will result in blurry pictures.
In addition, Kodaks customer service/support is just terrible. Just before I special occasion I ordered new batteries and paid extra for rapid shipping. Turns out the batteries were backordered, so they werent shipped until after the occasion. But by the time they told me about this, they said it was too late to cancel the order. So I ended up spending an extra $15 for two-day shipping for a product I didnt get for two weeks. I tried to contact them to complain, and they sent an automatically generated email saying theyd get back to me in 8 hours. Well, it has been more than 8 weeks, and Ive sent multiple other emails, and have yet to get a response.
Decent camera, but what's up with the price??     On: 2007-11-21

Why is Amazon selling a camera for $198.89 when Kodaks MSRP is US $139.00? According to the specs, this camera does not include the printer dock, so its not the combo price.
Great Little Own the Go Camera     On: 2007-08-19

Ive been using this camera for a about 2 months now and over all its a pretty nice digital camera. Only real complaint I have is finding another USB locally. For the life of me I cant find mine and the port is so little that none of my other millions of adaptors will work. Overall a nice around time, quick snap shots of the kids camera.
Bad for outside use     On: 2007-06-06

My husband and I have had two of these cameras. They both lasted about a year. The first one quit working when we took it to the beach. It was 50 feet away from the water, and we covered it in a towel to keep it dry and sand-free, but it quit working that day. We got a replacement because it was still under warranty. The second one lasted a little over a year, and it quit working when we took it to a swimming hole with us. Again, we made sure it was wrapped up and inside a backpack. A friend took it out for one picture, and after that it stopped working. There was water involved both times, and I think that might have something to do with it, but neither time did the camera get anywhere near the water, and it wasnt humid, either. All in all, its a cheap camera, and its great if you never take it outside, but I wouldnt reccomend this camera.
Beware of the Repair     On: 2007-03-20

$ I just sent my camera in for repair to a location recommended by Kodak. I just received an estimate of $85.00 plus shipping, to repair the MCU, whatever that is. Anyway, as all may already know, this camera can be purchased here on Amazon for $95.00. So you be the judge. This camera should be advertised as a "disposable camera". When it costs more to repair something than to replace, its usually called junk. Never again Kodak. Once burnt twice shy.
I like it...

I got this camera for my birthday, it works really well! Not very expensive, takes [usually] clean photos, but lighting can sometimes be difficult. Video is good, but no sound. =(

Good for teenagers, if its lost/broken youre not out a lot of money, small enough to keep with you, easy to use, and great for pictures of you & friends. I would definetly recommend it.

(PS, we got one for my grandpops birthday too, and he understands the basics. Not hard to learn)
C310 plus Easy Share Printer Dock     On: 2007-02-20

C310 is simple to use, has very good resolution, lacks a bit more automatic settings, but takes excellent shots. The printer works at a pro level, however the limitation of not using printer cartriges could not satisfy everybody easily. However, for our family, it works perfect

Bad news     On: 2007-02-04

I bought this camera new and on the 4th time I went to use it, it did not work. After several times to unsuccessfully change batteries, I phoned the Kodak service repair. They were unable to help troubleshoot and asked me to send $69.00 plus shipping and the camera for them to look at and repair if possible. I asked to talk to a supervisor but their response was "they are too busy". Why would I spend $69.00 on a camera that costs less than $100 and not even know if it is repairable. I wouldnt wish this camera on the most unfortunate person.

I will never buy another Kodak product because of this. There are too many other good products out there. Buyer beware!

Better then mine!     On: 2007-01-22

Bought this for my 9 year old son because he loves to take pictures. He has been taking pictures everyday since he got it. The software it comes with along with the camera itself are great. I want one now to replace mine which cost three times as much.
Great for my 8 year old     On: 2007-01-16

I bought this camera for my 8 year old daughter who loves to take pictures. It has worked well for her doing all the things she wants it to. I think it was easy for her to learn to use it. Two days after Christmas we did replace the batteries (I am sure b/c it was used so much due to the novelty) Since then, we have not changed the batteries. She is happy with the purchase and so am I especially for the price.
Very easy to use     On: 2007-01-15

I bought this for my parents for Christmas and they love it. My mother is technically challenged so if she can use, anyone can. All of the functions are easy to use and the pictures come out very clear from the printer dock.
perfect for a teenager     On: 2007-01-15

Bought this camera for my 15 year old who loves to take pictures of her friends and animals. Does not have a zoom lens but for what she uses it for it is not needed. I am very satisfied for what it is.
Kodak EasyShare C310 4MP Digital Camera review     On: 2007-01-11

For a camera less than $100 its cool. Got me some very clear and sharp pics too, even after zooming. I only wish the video recording had a sound input port even if no built-in mic. Overall - excellent! Good value for the money.
xmas gift     On: 2007-01-10

I thank it is one of the best camera that i have ever bought.
Kodak EasyShare C310 4MP Digital Camera     On: 2007-01-05

This is a great basic digital camera. My only comments are that I find the zoom feature somewhat inconvenient. I take a lot of distance pictures, and if enough time passes in between shots, the camera will revert to the "normal" view and you will have to zoom in all over again.
Adequate camera     On: 2007-01-03

We have a really nice $400 Kodak digital camera that my husband bought for work. It holds hundreds of photos and they are crystal clear. This camera is definitely not that. We bought this for my daughters 10th birthday; it is fine for what she wants to do, though she thought the photos were not very sharp when she viewed them on the computer. Also, she has trouble getting the photos to be light enough, even though they look fine through the viewer. It only holds 16 photos and some more in favorites, but 16 is not enough for a vacation. We will look into adding memory. She likes her camera, and again, it is fine for a young person who just wants to snap photos of her friends or a family trip.
Not Bad.....     On: 2006-11-30

This is a pretty good camera. Takes great pictures. The most important thing is that its easy to use. Not complicated at all. The one thing I hate is the way it drains the 2 AA batteries sooooooooo fast. If you want to conserve battery then you have to leave the LCD screen off. If that doesnt bother you then this is the camera for you!
Kodak C 310     On: 2006-11-09

I was disappointed with the product because I thought it had a zoom feature for taking pictures at a distance. It does not. This camera should only be used for close up pictures.
A huge surprise     On: 2006-11-04

The camera was more than I expected, and with the addition of a 1 gig sd card, It rocks. Only negative, it doesnt take bright pics on an overcast day. OTOH, the flash lights up a room. Worth the money, and get a docking station too.
Easy is the key word     On: 2006-10-30

I bought this camera for my technologically-challenged parents. I normally have to explain things to them at least 5 times before they get it, but this they actually were able to figure out on their own after we went over it once. I cant say how it works on a day-to-day basis as I am not the primary user, but they have been happy with it, no complaints, and the prints theyve made from it have been great in terms of color, clarity, focus and sharpness. Which is impressive, considering the poor lighting and conditions theyve taken the photos in. Its definitely not an advanced loaded-with-features camera, but it has more than enough to satisfy those who just want an easy to use camera that takes a decent picture.
Birthday Party, Good; Grand Canyon, Not So Good     On: 2006-10-29

This is a nice, simple, fixed-focus camera. Very easy to use, with some handy features. It will give you very nice shots at the five to twenty foot range, e.g. at a birthday party or an outdoor cookout. Its OK too for urban street scenes. But for "grand vista" outdoor scenes, e.g. from a mountain top lookout, or even a sports event, its not the right camera. For that you need a variable-focus. Thus, it really isnt a vacation trip camera, unless youre going to London or Paris (lucky you) and will be shooting mostly street scenes. The 5X digital zoom only gives you decent results up thru 2X; past that, things blur quickly. In fact, there is an zoom indicator box on the LED that goes from blue to red when picture quality goes below what a decent 4x6 print would require -- this happens between 2 and 3X. (Still, 2X comes in handy sometimes). One more thing, the Kodak EasyShare software package may be right for you, but I personally didnt want it, given what the full version takes up in computer space and resources. But if you pick the custom installation option when installing EasyShare from the CD, you can just install the downloader; when you plug the camera into the computer (USB), it then appears as a removable drive, just like most other digital cameras do. You then move the picture files where you wish, and do with them as you like (Photoshop Elements, in my case). Quite reasonable of Kodak to allow this.
Perfect Gift Idea     On: 2006-10-27

My company owns this camera to use at work to take complimentary pictures for our customers. I chose this camera/printer dock to buy for my daughters 15th birthday, it is perfect for her 1st digital camera. Easy to use and print. Personally, I am a photo "nut" and I own a much more expensive complex camera, so its not for me. But shes going to love it, and it didnt cost an arm and a leg.....I love the fact that everything she needs comes together so I didnt have to buy everything seperately. Highly recommended for a first timer or one who doesnt want all the technical stuff!!
Just what I needed     On: 2006-10-17

This is a very basic camera, easy to use, and easy to transfer pictures, either through the software or SD card. At first, I was appalled at the low battery life, but then I read the manual which said using the flash and/or LCD screen excessively wears out the batteries. Its a bit of an inconvinience for some to use the little boxy see through thing instead of the LCD but I dont mind; Ive had a manual camera for most of my life and Im used to it anyways. It takes nice, sharp pictures, though it does get a bit grainy if you zoom in too much (it has digital, not optical zoom). I also love the fact that its pretty small, relatively lightweight, and durable (Ive dropped it loads of times and it still works like a charm), so I just throw it in whatever bag or purse Im using for the day. The video capture thing is pretty cool too, though there isnt any sound, its a nice bonus feature. Considering I got this camera for [...] bucks at Frys, I am more than satisfied.
Oh, yeah, I wanted to thank people for mentioning the B & W/ Sepia options, because, being the nonreadingmanual person that I am, I didnt realize this camera had that option. =)
Just what I needed     On: 2006-10-15

I really like this camera. I use it for photos that I take for my Romantic Oregon Coast Vacations web site [...]

It is very easy to use. I also got the dock for it with the rechargable battery pack. This ensures that Im always ready to go. The photos are nice and clear. Since I got it recently, there are some features that I havent tried yet, but know that I will use down the road. Just right for a casual photographer. A big thumbs up!
Exactly What I Need!     On: 2006-08-26

I only gave this 4 stars because what I need in a camera may not be what you need in a camera.
This baby is about as point and shoot as it gets. For those of us that grew up on 110 and 126 cameras, this is the camera you may be looking for. I was able to set up the printer without ever looking at the instructions, I had everything set up, and I had taken and printed a test photo within 20 minutes of opening the box, I will add that it was harder for me to open the box than hook up the printer, dock, and camera.
One of the main reasons I bought this setup is because I am into a lot of outdoor activities and I wanted a camera that could do a few things. The camera had to be semi durable with as few moving parts as possible this has that. I wanted a lens that did not stick out of the front of the camera at all so I can put the camera in a dry-bag and take pictures, this has that also.
One aside note of personal philosophy on digital pictures and why they come out dark. Maybe we have forgotten this, but we all have taken lots of dark film photos over the years. Film is a bit forgiving because the person developing it can brighten a photo a bit for you (sort of the way you can with photo shop). The good thing about digital is that you know right then that the picture was bad, but with film by the time you get back the dark photos you forgot what they were of anyway. I recommend using a flash whenever you can and try to be less than 8 form what you are trying to photograph if it is dark.
Good Camera for a Great Price     On: 2006-06-27

I recently bought this camera for my 9 year old daughter. I wanted a digital camera that she could take to Girl Scout camp. In the past we bought disposable film cameras but she found the flash on most too difficult and we ended up paying for dark murky pictures. She also missed a lot of good shots because she "didnt want to waste her film". I loaded this camera with an inexpensive 512MB SD card and she took over 200 shots. Most of them were pretty decent. Since they are digital I can easily crop them and print only the ones that we want. The flash on this camera worked flawlessly. Another great thing about sending a digital camera to camp was that we took some pictures of my wife and me and our pets and left them on the memory card. Our daughter was able to go back and look at them on the LCD when she got homesick! I also own a Kodak P850. Its a great camera with great features.
Slightly disappointed     On: 2006-06-21

I bought this camera for my mom for Christmas. She is finally using it, but has found that it does not take good pictures when it is slightly dark. Even inside in a fairly lit room, the pictures are not as good as I would expect. Im going to see if there is another camera that works with the dock, cause the prints turn out nice when the pic is well lit. Ill just upgrade the camera (I hope!)
Great little camera for the $     On: 2006-06-02

I just received my new C310 and printer dock a couple of days ago and I just love it! It takes really good pictures, nice and clear. I havent had a problem with the batteries running down quickly. :::knocking on wood::: The printer prints a lot better than I expected. I havent had to buy paper or ink for it yet so I dont know how much thats going to run me, but Im not going crazy printing pictures either. I like that you can charge the included camera batteries on the printer dock as well. Its small enough to drop into a purse and thats a big + in my opinion. I wish the video option included sound, but the videos even look pretty good on the computer. Overall, its a great, inexpensive digital cam!
Serious battery problems     On: 2006-05-10

Camera worked absolutly wonderful until the batteries that it came with ran out. Since then I have purchased various other AA brands with the same results. Rechargable, top of the line, kodak brand it doesnt matter. Camera shuts off after about 2 minutes of use each time. I then have to take out the batteries and reinsert to get another 2 minutes. The kodak brand was the only brand of batteries I could get to do even this. sorta of a ripoff because by the time I discovered this problem I had already thrown away the packaging and receipt, so return is not an option. After a bit of research I have also confirmed that this is a pretty common problem. This is the sort of camera that people with tight budgets are going to buy when they want something a little nicer. So I wanted to inform people that they may not get what they paid their hard earned money for. Think seriously and perhaps buy another brand. Good luck.
Ups and Downs     On: 2006-05-09

This camera has its highs and its lows. I purchased this camera yesterday, and was amazed at how clear the pictures look on the LCD. Once on the computer, I learned that the pictures I had zoomed in on were slightly pixelated. Slightly, though. The other ones were absolutely perfect! I love this camera. Its really lightweight, makes no sounds, and has three different settings to choose from.{B&W, Sepia, Regular}. Its a great camera for a cheap price. :]]

Great Camera!!     On: 2006-03-16

This is the first digital camera I have owned and I cant believe how easy it is to use! I love it. Its a great camera for the amount of money I paid for it! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a digital camera. The black/white and sepia options are also very cool. It makes you feel like youre a professional photographer! The pictures come out great and the software that comes with the camera makes it extremely easy to share your photos with friends and family.
Easy to use and great picture quality     On: 2006-03-16

The software was very easy to install and learning to use the camera was a breeze. The picture quality is great and they print fast with the dock. The ink did run out quickly...
The editing software is easy to use on both ends...editing the pictures and opening them when sent via email.
Easy to Use     On: 2006-03-13

I recently purchased the Kodak C310/Easy Share printer dock. This was my first purchase of a digital camera. As my children have labeled be "electronically challenged", I was looking for something very simple to use, yet producing great pictures. I found exactly that with the C310. The instructions were very understandable for both the camera and the printer dock, and I was up & running in a very short time. Excellent choice for the first-time buyer.
Kodak C310 Digital Camera     On: 2006-02-26

The camera takes very nice pictures and when I e-mail them, all are happy the way it goes through.
It is light weight and small which is a very important feature for me.I would have been even happier if the instructions were clearer.A lot clearer.

I am totally not a camera person. ..until now. I love my new camera. It is great for a novice like me and I am so happy with the quality of pictures. I take the camera nearly everywhere I go and love the easy transfer to my computer.

One size fits all Amazon     On: 2006-02-23

You cant purchase this product if you have an APO box. Dont bother. If it can be connected to an electrical outlet, Amazon wont ship it. Sort of a shotgun approach to retail, but that is Amazon these days. I tried to buy a UV filter for my camera, but because it falls within a particular category, Amazon is too blinded to differentiate. Sad. Hire a few more starving programmers to set up a better filter.

I am pleased with the Kodak C310 and the printer dock.     On: 2006-02-23

Pleased for awhile     On: 2006-02-22

The Koadk Easyshare C310 worked for about 2 months, then after each picture I took it shut off. I have changed the batteries over a million times, and it still doesnt work. So, I took it back and got an MP3 player instead.

Sweet and easy to use!     On: 2006-02-08

I just received this camera order from Amazon.com, and it works great! Very hassle-free and easy to use. My suggestion is to order directly from Amazon.com (which is what I did) instead of an individual or company doing business on the Amazon website. This way, I had confidence in who I was buying from, and I knew if there were any problems, they would be easy to resolve. No problems here, and this camera is a great buy, and a fantastic bargain.
Not worth it     On: 2006-02-06

This camera is NOT worth it. I recieved it for christmas and it is awful. The batteries that came with the camera only lasted for about 15 pictures, and since they werent rechargable, they had to be thrown away. I then went and bought recharable batteries and they only last for up to 10 pictures. So basically if I want to use it, I have to carry around five sets of double A batteries. It is also a lot fatter than it looks in the picture so it is not easy to carry around. When it does work, the pictures are decent but it does horrible in low lighting. Disposable cameras are better than this and I do NOT recommend this product. Spend the extra 50 bucks for something good.

Cool Little Camera     On: 2006-01-16

I bought this camera for my boyfriend. He loves it! It takes good pictures, and has a good battery life. The only complaint he had was that it didnt have a lot of options such as nighttime, sports etc. The camera is lightweight and very easy to use. This is a good starter camera all around. I have the 5.0 kodak easyshare which was $400 and i dont notice too much of a difference between the two except for size, weight and the options.
Poor Kodak Customer Service     On: 2006-01-15

I purchased the Kodak C310 and Printer Dock and the camera would not immediately charge when taken out of the box. We contacted Kodak and they said we had to return the camera and printer dock back to the dealer. I had to pay all shipping and handling costs and Kodak said it was their policy not to refund the return of defective equipment to the customer. This camera costs me additional $20 because Kodak does not accept responsiblity for selling defective equipment. I could have bought a more expensive camera for the additional expense it cost me for buying a Kodak camera.
Works with Apple OS X 10.4 and iPhoto.     On: 2006-01-06

I was hesitant to buy this camera because I didnt want to have to use Kodaks Easyshare software. Well, if you simply plug the camera into your Mac, iPhoto see the camera just fine. So you have the option of using Kodak Easyshare for Mac, which enables several share features, or simply using iPhoto.
Great for kids too!     On: 2006-01-03

This is my first Amazon.com reviews. Whenever I buy something for my family, I always go to amazon.com first before purchasing a product, the reviews ALWAYS help! Anyway, my sons are almost 7, 5 and almost 2. My 7 and 5 year old son kept talking about getting a digital camera all last year. Finally the long wait came at Christmas day. My husband did alot of research on cameras and all the kids camera reviews were poor, for they didnt last long and felt it wasnt worth the money to spend a cheap camera for them. We bought a different kind of camera through Amazon, but when we got the product, it was too cheap, the buttons were impossible to push and the battery life was 5 minutes! Immediately we returned that product. After doing research we were down to the Kodak C300 or C310. We didnt buy Kodak C310 through Amazon, there was an awesome sale at Best Buy for this camera for $119.00 and we got a free Kodak Camera Dock Series 3 set ($70 retail value!) for this purchase! It came with a camera dock, camera case, rechargeable battery and a tripod! This was the after Christmas sale 2005.

I HIGHLY recommend this camera for kids who are ready for the real thing, after all younger children(ages 5 and up) are getting into the technology alot sooner than I did when I was their age. This camera is very simple, easy to follow and they are experts at it already after a week of using it. The buttons are easy to follow (although, I think it helped that we already had a Kodak DX6490 camera, that they used from time to time) It prepared them to know how to use it. We just ordered a new Kodak 64mb SD through amazon so they can take more pictures and take it to Costco to get prints!

I am very pleased with this product and look forward to seeing what they take and how proud they are when they take these pictures! :) Happy New Year! Hope this helped you all out! (This is great for beginners too, not just for kids, Kodak has great cameras out there)

I bought this for my wife, she love it! The pictures are so clear and the printer is awesome also. Best one I had in a long time. Did extensive research before I bought it. I have had 5 different kinds of digital cameras. If you are looking to get a new camera. This is a GREAT BUY!
Great Camera     On: 2005-12-27

Ive been using this camera since September, so that is approximately 3 months now. It is a great camera. Takes great pictures, uploads them quickly to the computer and does everything I need it to do.
Kids camera or inexperienced user     On: 2005-12-08

Im only 14 and im not radio shack but the camera is lacking in menu options and barely custimizable. There is only auto mode and no macro(up close shots). Also there is no manual mode, so you cant set it for a beach photo or set it for florescent lighting shots. The only thing you can really custimize is the flash. The thing that dissapoints me the most is the absence of auto focus. This camera is a kids toy. If your an artist and are into details i wouldnt reccomend this. If you dont know alot about digital cameras or dont like to spend alot of time fooling around with features i would reccommend it, its really a no brainer or if your not good with electronics. Im exchanging it for a camera with auto focus, macro etc. Basically one with more advanced features and can be custimized more. I dont know why people are complaining about the battery in this camera its ok, i meen what do they expect, all digital cameras have short battery life. There is a lithium battery pack you can buy for it but its fairly expensive. I paid $150 CDA which is slightly overpiced. The photo quality is pretty good but due to the lack of custamizable features your not always going to get what you want in every photo, espescially for jewlery or watches(up close shots).

Compact, Inexpensive and Works Well: Your Camera is Here!!     On: 2005-12-08

I must admit that this is a very simple to shoot and easy to share Digital Camera that lets you capture eye-catching images. With this camera, I have been able to get an effective MP CCD that generates high-resolution images for up to 20" x 30" prints. The 1.6" high-resolution display lets me view brilliant, sharp pictures with ease and clarity. One thing I like is that it includes the Kodak EasyShare software, which works seamlessly with the C310 and allows you to edit, organize, print or view a slide show from your computer. Another great feature is the on-camera share button which allows me to email my pictures to my friends or print them directly to share them with my family. Along with images, I can shoot continuous video at 20 fps at resolutions of up to 320x240 pixels. Compact and lightweight, the Kodak EasyShare C310 is an ideal way to share your lifes special moments. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR FIRST TIME DIGITAL CAMERA USERS!!!
Wonderful Camera     On: 2005-12-02

I ordered the KODAK Easyshare C310 as my first digital camera and I must admit, Im very impressed with it. The quality of the pictures are very good, and what I enjoy most about the camera is that I can take a picture in pitch blackness and it comes out very clear! Thats amazing! So whether day or night, I have beautiful memories to preserve! Highly recommended.
Great Kids Camera     On: 2005-11-28

We just bought the Kodak CD 40 which appears to be the same as this one just different numbers for different stores. We got it from Wal-Mart for under $100. It is a great camera for kids to start out with. It is pretty much point and shoot, very few options. The biggest plus is the quick shutter time. To try it out I took pictures of my husband waving his hands - it came out clear. I even took a picture of my ceiling fan that was on and it came out as a blade with no blurriness. My last trial pic was an up close pic where I got within 8" of a slipper - once again it came out very clear. For the money you just cant beat the shutter speed and clear pics. We appreciate the lack of buttons/gadgets which will make this much easier for our daughter to use.
Easy to Use Great Pictures     On: 2005-11-27

I bought this camera when I need to update from an old HP digital camera. I have been doing store surveys on hurricane damaged stores, so I need a camera that was easy to use, easy to carry, and could take good detailed pictures. I decided on a kodak because I like to size of it and I had SD memory cards already. I like that it is so easy to use, if you need to take a picture that is a lower quality pictures so it is easier to email, it only take a few seconds to change it on the camera. The camera will easily fit in a shirt pocket. It takes quality pictures, and you do not have to be perfectly still, the pictures come out great. I use the camera with the screen cut off, so I can save the 2 AA batteries. I have taken over 100 pictures, reviewed them, and transfered them to my laptop on a single set of batteries.

Overall if you want a easy to use camera, that will not cost you an arm and a leg this is a great little camera to think about.
