Very good entertaiment and quality     On: 2006-08-14

This product is a very good multimedia entertaiment center, for kids and adults in all roads, and for all cars, it has very fine Quality in audio and video. My family is very happy.
Defective after 40 days. Wasted my money and time.     On: 2006-06-22

When it was working, it was good enough for my daughter to watch Baby Einsteins in the van during the daylight hours with no tint. Good concept with two screens. One can watch a DVD while the other screen can have a game machine plugged in.

40 days after arrival and its now dead. Powers on, but will not spin up to attempt to read anything. Barely used. Now I have to pay for shipping/handling/insurance to have Mustek replace it. So I have to spend more money because they make defective products! Will not buy Mustek products ever again. So much for an easy road trip for 4th of July.

Im editing this review. I had to plug in the 2nd screen and now thats broken. Dead pixels on the right side!! Their tech support is located in a 3rd world country and I have no idea what theyre saying. Ive had to call between 2 different numbers (not toll free) 4 times just to take care of the 2nd screen. I cant get a refund and they really dont care that I hate their product or company. I just want my money back!! I wish that it had broken down prior to my 30 days store warranty so that I could get a refund!

Basically, the warranty is 90 days from the initial purchase date. They could keep sending me a defective product over the next 90 days. After that Im screwed out of $200 and they wouldnt even care.
Dead pixels     On: 2006-05-30

The fourth time I used it, dead pixels appeard on the dvd monitor, that really sucks!! Sound is really low, after all what esle can u expect for $200 ..
Good Deal     On: 2006-04-19

I purchased this DVD to use on our trips to Florida. We are 4 Baby Boomers who travel together. Two drive, two sit in back & watch movies. It was easy to make all the connections, even for a non-techie. All the cords were in the way draping between the seats where the monitors were attached, but I got velcro cord organizers and now they are all together. The quality of the picture is very good and it is easy enough to operate. The only drawback is the earphones. They are the kind that go right into the ear and maybe we have strange ears, but they wont stay in place! I purchased headsets with foam ear pieces, but the sound was not loud enough through them. Im still looking for earphones that are more comfortable.
Overall we are very pleased and like having a monitor right in front of us on the seat headrest instead of having to crane our necks to see one in the center. Its also a nice to have the option of watching a movie in the house on just one monitor. Just pop up the stand & enjoy.
A good buy for us.
Not Bad     On: 2006-03-28

I got this unit over 6 weeks now. Overall, I like the features (divx, dual screen in/out, price) but Im disappointed with the picture quality, its not as clear and sharp as I wanted, thats why the 4 stars. I have not test the SD/MMC/USB feature for input of pics. Several reasons for buying this unit:

1. Play Divx
I test it and it does play quite some divx, even QPEL which Philips doesnt, but some QPEL doesnt render well. Also no MKV or OGM, thats expected. Overall, Im satisfied with this feature. I watch anime divx and I can still read the subtitle overall, so Im ok with it. Again, dont expect sharp quality when its divx. When its just MPEG2 DVD, its not bad quality.

2. Dual Screen
It came w/ Dual screens, one screen is with a DVD player and only does output AV. One screen is just a screen, but only takes input AV. Both screen has its own AC adapter and headphone jack. I guess its good for car ride, in fact, it comes w/ straps to bound to the back of the car seat.

3. Input/Output AV
I needed input AV from my PS2, so I can play it on the screen when my wife uses the TV. Im not as interested in the output since I have a DVD player for TV already.

4. Price
For $200, its not a bad price for the features, it would really be a steal if wasnt for the ok pic quality. But normal 7" portable DVD player will run about $150+, so for $200 dual screen and with divx play back, its pretty good.

Overall, Im really just using it as a personal player, if theres portable DVD player that plays Divx, sharp image, take AV input and about the same price, Ill be selling this unit. I dont really need the dual screen, its nice for the car ride, but I dont do car ride that often. Hee hee ... now you know Im a Otaku.
Defective on arrival     On: 2006-03-10

The item arrives defective. It was not able to read any DVDs and even CDs. Moreover, the power button was jamed. I needed to use my nails to release it.

I will not buy anymore Mustek product... Too cheap!

Be aware that even if you are returning a defective unit, Amazon will not cover the Shipping cost :(
It broke the third time I used it!     On: 2006-02-21

I liked the dual dvd player, but it broke and I dont know what to do with it. Ive contacted the company, but havent gotten an answer...now Im stuck with one screen that gives me an error message that the dvd player is open and the other screen doesnt even come on...dont buy it!
Decent player...so far     On: 2006-02-14

Ive owned this portable dvd player for a little over a week now. Were quite impressed with the features and quality of this player for the price. The fact that you get two screens is a major plus.
The car adapter kit works well and it has a nice carrying case to transport it all.
Weve experienced no skips (even on some very bumpy roads) yet.
The picture quality could be improved and the sound (without headphones) seems to be a bit low. Its sometimes hard to hear on the highway at speed. The headphones will get you around this problem.
Even with these minor flaws, you cant go wrong with two monitors for $200.
