Let me start off by saying I am no audiophile but I do know good sound and have come to expect it. I purchased the WS-60 to replace an old polk center channel that had a blown tweeter and also because I now have an lcd tv and could use this slick design if I need to put it on the wall. I just wish the sound was as nice as its look. In my opinion the sound is very tinny which I believe is a result of the metal enclosure and small speakers. This makes voice reproduction (essential in a center channel) very poor and voices sound like they are trapped in a metal building, not very realistic. I am going to use this as a back surround speaker in a 6.1 setup and opt for a center channel with bigger speakers and a wood enclosure to get bigger more realistic voice reproduction. As far as this speakers ability to be a front/rear channel speaker I cannot comment because I havent heard it in that setup.

Though a little overpriced (dont pay retail ~ $200.-) For the Amazon Price however, they are an excellent deal. They look good, compact and slender (I take the grills off cause I like the "techno" look of the "naked" speakers). Solid (Alu) and convenient mounting choices. I have three (3): One Left / One Right and One Center and they sound brilliant and clear. Of course, with the size, you will not get adequate bass, so youll NEED at least a Subwoofer with them!

These speakers are well worth the money.I have owned many different Home Theaters systems.I always compare specs on all components before I purchase.These speakers look great on the wall beside my 50 inch Panasonic plasma tv.I was quite surprised at the large sound produced by
these relatively small speakers.Also the price was excellent compared to
speakers in this catagory.They arrived in perfect condition and sooner than expected.Plus the wife is very happy with the sound and the small, neat ,clean appearance.
My system consists of an ONKYO 804B 7.1 Receiver, 3 ATHENA WS-60s in front, 2 ATHENA WS-15s and 2 Mirage Omnisats in the rear, along with a 12inch Earthquake(UNBELIEVABLE)sub.This system sounds incredible and really gets you into Movies and Music.

Have used a single Athena WS-60 speaker as center channel in surround setup for about three months. It is clear and powerful for movies and music. A sub-woofer is still needed for bass sounds.

I was looking for a slim tower style speaker to upgrade my 2 front speakers for my surround sound system. After looking around onlne i saw many tower style speakers but was disappointed that most speakers were just tall and empty, i thought why make a tall speaker and only put 1 speaker in the box how deceiving. I finally settled on the athena ws -60 cause it was one of the only speaker with more than one speaker in there although it wasnt as tall as the others in its class . I took a pair of those babys home and hooked them up, alll i can say is AMAZING, sound is crisp clear and powerfull, All voices shine through these speakers and the tweater is crisp and clear. well worth the money. The reviews were right, a real top quality speaker. If you love good music ull love this speaker.
