The arm band works well, holds the Ipod well, and does what its supposed to do. However it is made of some type of leather and is worn under the armpit. It is not easily cleaned and therefore collects an odor over time if you are using it for heavy workouts. On: 2007-01-24
My sister had this and let me have it since it was to big for her.
But it fits great if u have a decent size arm problem but my arm is bit to big for it , But when i have it on,it only fits on the 2nd to last Velcro Dot.
But once i got it on,it feels great for working out even when im doing bicep curls.
Though i wish the screen wasnt exposed like it is a top cover woulda been nice.
And yes the price is a little outrageous. On: 2007-01-15
For the ladies, this arm band tends to slip down the biceps if you dont have muscular guns like a man.... On: 2007-01-10
I use this armband in my cycling class and daily gym workouts. Because it was made by Apple, it fits my Nano perfectly. However, I think it was overpriced for what it is. On: 2007-01-04
Before I bought this armband, I did a ton of research. One of the main reason was the price - I didnt like the idea of spending so much on an armband. Yeah its pricey but it does a great job. It does not protect the screen; however, I bought a slick skin that does the job. The slick skin doesnt add any thickness to the iPod so it slides easily in and out of the armband. Many armbands dont offer this feature and since I listen to quite a few podcasts I need to be able to sync my iPod regularly.
The armband fits nicely on my arm; although, I can see how it may be too small for some or not quite fit right on others. The armband does a great job of holding my iPod in place (unlike the armband I had with my previous MP3 player). Plus, its very lightweight - I hardly notice its there.
I have no issues using the wheel even though it is protected by the armband.
If you sweat a lot then the armband will start to smell but thats true of any armband. The armband for my old MP3 player smelled rank and my GPS armband is just as bad.

I think this armband has worked great for me for the last year. The colors that they offer are awesome, the armband feels great on your arm (it does not feel or look cheap as other reviewers are saying), there are various size adjustments that can be made for different arm sizes, the armband does not slide up and down the arm/it is secure, the buttons are easily accessible when on your arm.
I have just two cons to this armband. There is no cover to protect the screen and it is a bit pricey compared to some other armband options.
However, even with the two cons I still think it was a great buy. On: 2006-10-07
The first thing I did when opening this item was check to make sure it actually WAS an Apple product. Its REALLY cheap looking. Looks like something youd find for [...] at a flea market or in the "stocking stuffers" section of the dollar store at Christmas time. The Nano is small so almost anything will hold it, including a rubber band and an envelope which is about as good as this unit.
This looks more like the freebie armband that should come free with the unit. Certainly not a [...] accessory. It just cheapens the Apple image.
If OEM Apple products are your thing, then go ahead and try this. But if youre looking for something as sweet as your nano that stays put while you workout, look for something else. Im returning mine this weekend to spend my money elsewhere.

I purchased this armband to hold my Nano during workouts. The band barely fits my arm and tends to slide down the arm while running or cross training. Looking for a replacement right now. On: 2006-08-08
Nice little holder for the Nano, but if you use it while you work out or sweat, forget this one. Mine smells like a high school locker room after a couple of months of use while running. I have tried gently hand washing it to get the odor out, and the clear screen cover came loose when it got wet, plus the material still stinks. This is a waste of money and Apple should be ashamed selling this. On: 2006-07-25
served its purpose (for workouts and whatnot)....nothing bad to say about it...it would get 5 stars if it somehow was designed to cover the top half of the i-pod On: 2006-07-21
I found this on clearance at another retailer (I guess not everyone likes pink), and its fabulous. I thought it might be just for skinny-armed people, but not so! Ive got plenty of room, it fits great, and it doesnt move. Still looking for a solution to keep the earbud cord out of the way, though. Makes mowing the lawn WAY more fun. On: 2006-07-04
Its great! So conveniet to listen with my Ipod & it sure to be
out of the way. Fits real tightly, safe & secure, so theres no worries about loosing my Ipod. On: 2006-06-29
This product doesnt get much use by me because its to small for my arm. I rate it 3 stars for someone who it fits well but 1 star for me. On: 2006-06-27
This item does its job, but the quality isnt that good. This item is poorly made and not worth the money. I had one for the iPod mini and it was much better. On: 2006-06-10
I adore my nano, but this armband is one of the worst products I have ever bought. I work out quite a bit with the nano and the band comes off multiple times during my workout. The spacing of the velcro dots means I never get exactly the right fit and the band gets ripped off anytime I do weight lifting close to my body. It is also as other reviewers mentioned hugely overpriced for what it is. I am ordering a band from a different company and this will go straight to the garbage. On: 2006-05-01
i never wrote an amazon review before, but i feel compelled to write one about this armband....IT IS AWEFUL design. it really should cost no more than $10. Granted, i DOES the job. But so does a donkey pulling a carriage. But he is not going to win any races any time soon. Ok, so we agree. The pros are this band holds the nano in place secure while you workout and it looks stylish. But here are the problems.
1) With no prtotection for the screen, the nano got so scratched in just 2 months that i stopped using it and bought another band made by belkin for 1/3 the price and includes screen cover.
2) why put a cover over the control area? that only makes it harder to use and protects nothing. They should have covered the screen and left this open. The belkin does. For a while, i even flipped the nano in this band just to protect the screen and make it easier to operate the touch wheel..:(
3) gets dirty really fast and almost impossble to clean. seems the dirt gets embedded int he spongy material this thing is made of
4) you must remove the nano from the band to charge it.
bottom line, unless you are paris hilton, look else where for a more functional, practical armband. On: 2006-04-21

Ive owned one of these blue armbands for about 4 months now and use it on average 4 times a week. Heres my evaluation, put simply:
Pros: (1) Looks cool on your arm at the gym. People know you have a Nano, because, hey, its right there on your arm. (2) Comfortable stretchy material.
Cons: (1) Velcro dots are spaced about 3/4 inch apart. If your arm circumference falls somewhere in between those dots, you end up rubbing the tip of the band against the side of your chest, snagging your shirt throughout your workout. Apple shouldve gone the extra distance and put a solid piece of velcro on the band instead. (2) The band material picks up dirt like nothing else. No problem if you wash it after every workout, but for those who work out on a regular basis & have better things to do than wash an armband, the bottom line is that it gets grimy-looking. (3) Brightness of the blue has faded over time. Perhaps has to do with the frequent washings. (4) Not that convenient to switch songs or see the screen while exercising. Use a playlist or the shuffle option. (5) Leaves the cord from the earphones too long. There should be some kind of cord-wrapping/shortening function included in the armband. I tuck the excess cord in between my arm & the band while running - fine, but annoying to have to do.
Anyway, I think the above criticism is appropriate given the high cost of this item. Give me a belt clip anyday. On: 2006-03-03
Cool colors to choose from; my favorite, the green...its wicked! Great for when you are running or hiking; however, there will be some slippage when you sweat. Also found out, that I liked it worn on my forearm so I could easily access the control panel. On: 2006-02-25
I recently purchased this product to hold my Nano in place while running. It holds the Nano securely and looks good. But theres one problem. Even on the loosest possible strap setting the thing squeezes my bicep too tight and leaves an irritated red mark on my skin.
Now, dont get me wrong, Im no body builder, but I am 62", and a male. And, even with my relatively modest biceps, this strap is too tight. If theyd just added another few inches to the strap I would love this product.
I have since given this product to my wife (with her tiny little arms) who uses it on a daily basis on her runs and she loves it.
So my verdict: Great product IF your arms are small enough to fit in it. On: 2006-02-24
Forget for a moment that I made up a word in the title of the review and bear with me. This product is like most everything Apple sells; slick, beautiful, and over-priced. It definitely serves a purpose and is worth having for some, but Im not so sure it is the best product out there for the $30 asking price.
I havent even been working out my Chuck Norris arms a lot lately and it barely fits my biceps. This should be less of an issue for women, unless of course youre Starla of Rex Kwon Do fame. Despite being a snug fit, it slides around a bit as youre lifting weights or moving your arms about. I guess its fine for a light jog, but if youre utilizing your arms a lot, it is either on tight enough to effect your blood flow or it is migrating around on your arm.
The only other reason I say it isnt a complete failure is simply the aesthetics. Its like that girl you dated in high school (who some of you unfortunately married); great to look at but worth about as much as a sack of turds beyond that. So if youre one of those people that goes to the gym to be seen rather than actually workout, its a great product. If you want something functional and attractive, look elsewhere. On: 2006-02-19
As in the title, this armband is a little pricey. Shoulda been free for crying out loud, but i havent used my Nano more, especially if youre a gym-buff or a jog-a-holic. Great for both. And just for the day to day as well. So if u think youll need it for those purposes or u just dont like carrying it in your pocket, then this is for you. On: 2006-02-18
it came when it was supposed to come, and it works exactly as it is supposed to work. awesome for running or working around the house, though you cant run in the rain or snow with it. i do wish the arm band came in a few sizes so you could choose one that would fit the nano with a protective covering. On: 2006-02-07
I was glad that an ipod accessory for the ipod nano had finally come out. The armband has a tight-fitting sleeve for the ipod that allows you to user the scroll wheel while the ipod is in the armband. Unfortunately, there isnt anything to cover the screen... The armband has multiple velcro circles so you can make it as small or large as you want. But be careful, I didnt get the velcro lined up exactly and it ended up scraping up my arm. One other issue that I have with the armband is that you cant charge the ipod while it is still in the armband. Its not a huge deal, but it is sort of a hassle that you have to unplug the earbuds, take the ipod out of the sleeve, charge the ipod, slip it back into the sleeve than then replace in the earbuds. I do like that the armband stays tight even if you sweat in it. Just a note-the armband is neon green. It looks more muted in the picture online than it is in person. On: 2006-01-28
I like the feel of the armband. Its easy to get on and secure onto my arm, but I wish it held the Nano a bit better. When I look over at the Nano on my arm, I have to crane my arm and head around so I can see the screen. If the top of the Nano was held in like the bottom (the top is completely open), Id be able to wear it upside down and be able to see the screen and reach the wheel more easily. On: 2006-01-15
The armband serves it purpose well, I use it for running and at the gym, however I find it a little bit expensive, and the color availability is limited. I have a black iPod nando, ando got the gray armband, but it looks almost white; a daker color would have been nicer. On: 2006-01-11
This armband is average, at best. Dont get me wrong, it serves its purpose but my major complaint is that it wont work well with the silicone cases that most people use. If you use a silicone case you either have to take it out of the case everytime you want to use the armband or try to jam it in the tiny opening that was obviously only designed to be used with a "naked" ipod. The realy laughable thing is that with all the scratching complaints with the nano apple recommends using a case, do they expect users to take the unit out of the case everytime they want to use an armband. Let me tell you this is a major pain!! I got this item as a gift otherwise I probably would have bought a silicone case that doubles as an armband (ie. has a slot in the back for a strap). BTW the NANO rocks!! On: 2005-11-18
This armband is awesome. It fits right on the upper arm and stays there - no jiggling or moving around and it doesnt need to be constantly adjusted. Basically you strap it on, slide your iPod Nano in there, press play and forget about it. If you want to take your iPod to the gym or out for a run, you need to buy this armband. It will make your workout so much easier and enjoyable! On: 2005-11-18
Okay, first off, this does exactly what you want it to do--it holds your nano in place while you work out/run/whatever. The nano is quite secure in its holder despite the top half being exposed, and at no time have I been the least bit worried about it popping out and breaking. Access to the touch wheel is excellent, and the thin piece of plastic over it doesnt hamper your control over the wheel in the least.
I have two small gripes about this armband. First, theres simply not much to it, and $30 for this little thing is a rip if ever there was one. Second, theres no elastic loop in which you can coil up excess headphone wire and keep it out of the way. Whenever I work out, I manage to yank out the headphones at least once or twice due to the excess wire hanging down to my waist. Now Im sure I can finagle something--i.e. wrap the wire around the armband or wedge it in the velcro--but considering that this feature is standard in just about every other armband, Im amazed that this one doesnt have it. On: 2005-10-25
I must admit that the armband looks great in pix, but thats about it. Too bad Apple is making inferior accessories. The neoprane is fairly stiff and the velcro isnt nearly as functional as it should be. On: 2005-10-20
The price is ridiculous. Seriously. It looks like it could break if you put it on your arm too tight....which wouldnt be hard because its tiny. On: 2005-10-18
This armband deserves 5 stars but doesnt get is because of one reason:
The Velcro holds it on my arm niceley, but you can not have it excactly where you want it because you cant bend the spaced out velcro dots in half. Hopefully my arm will grow so it isnt so snug.
The great things about this armband are:
-It is smooth and comfortable feeling on your skin
-It protects the ipod very well (except for the screen, it is never covered)
-It looks really nice, much better than the other armbands for other iPodss.
Overall, this thing is a must if you excersize or jog..too bad it has to be so expensive though. It was made in a sweatshop for 40 cents, the m.s.r.p. is slightly more. (Hey, I bought it and apple knows people will.)
Update: This armband gets dirty and creases really easily, I have found myself returning it and buying a new one knowing it will get worn out fast. Suggestion: wipe off part that touches skin after each use with wet cloth, it wont stain then. On: 2005-10-09
I wear it on my upper arm every day when I go jogging and it has worked perfectly. Does not slip or move at all and is easy to adjust so you can wear it comfortably. Give you easy access to all of the controls while protecting the nano, and holding it tightly. I have heard that the armband can be too small for some guys arms because of big biceps but some guys said that it also works great on the forearm and can even give you an easier look at the screen.
So overall its a great Item and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy.
