It is said "They dont build them like they used too" and for the Nikko stereo products that saying could not be more closer to the truth. I picked up a Nikko 230 Amp (240 watts per channel) back in 1993 from a friend who was in some financial trouble. He was nearly in tears when I was loading it into my car and I quickly realized why. This is a VERY powerful amp, dont bother messing around with wimpy 100-120-150 watt speakers with this amplifier. The Nikko 230 will toast them past 55%-60% volume, believe me Ive learned the hard way! (Blown many speakers with this amp!)
Ive enjoyed YEARS of flawless entertainment with this amp and it STILL delivers incredible power. Im currently using a double set of Cerwin Vega RE-30 speakers which are PERFECTLY suitable for this amp. At "party" volume levels BEWARE, the bass (depending on your speakers) can SHAKE your house, no joke! If your in an apartment, forget it, the police are gonna be a knockin, even a nearby house on the block might trigger a complaint. Ive heard many amps, Onkyo, Sony, JVC, Akia, Harmon Kardon and on and on....Nikko is king in my humble opinion. If this amp does eventually die on me, Ill just head to ebay or scour the Earth in
search of a NIKKO replacement. Yes, its that good!
