Here is a great buy on a LCD Televison. It has great picture quality and no glare which we really enjoy. We have this in our Living Room which has lots of windows. Our previous TV had glare all over it except at night. Now we can even leave the windows open and enjoy great picute quality. After a lot of research this was the best buy we could find for a 26" LCD and we dont regret it.

Here is what I thought was a great buy on a LCD Televison. It had great picture quality and no glare which we really enjoy until it quit working after only 4 1/2 months. Then its true colors came out. 1st it took three calls to Hitachi to get them to send the authorization to work on the TV. Then it took about a week and a half to get parts. Then the parts proved to be defective. Next it took another week to get replacement parts. So after 3 1/2 weeks I thought I finally had a TV again, but when we got it home and turned it on whenever you tried to turn the volume up it turned the TV off. So back to the shop it went. It has now been there for a month and is still not ready. I called Hitachi and got no help from them at all. No telling when I will get to watch this TV again. Think twice about buying a Hitachi!!!

After much research on HDTV,EDTV,SDTV,480p,720p,1080i,etc.etc. I decided to pull the trigger on this set ... I am very pleased with the performance and the price from Amazon was great too. This set listed at $2000 when released in 2005 and it got it for $599 w/ free shipping. I have heard that Hitachi is a groundbreaking tech company and other manufacturers use the features they invent. Even though it came out 2 years ago it has all and more features compared to new units from cheaper brands. Read the specs on these LCDs or plasmas and you will see.
I have used OTA viewing via analog signal for the last 15 years, and the ATSC tuner has now changed my viewing enjoyment many times over. I now get 17 digital channels clear as ever. I upgraded the antenna setup by adding a DB2 high gain UHF to an existing VHF/UHF/FM attic antenna and another DB4 UHF unit on the roof. FREE HDTV! No monthly fees, after you set up your antennas.
This set may be hard to find now, but I recomend it and any other Hitachi product. They are not as saturated into the marketplace as Sony, Sharp, Samsung, etc. but they produce quality products.

I bought this TV for my small office. I had it installed with the elbow mount so patients could watch tv while waiting for appointments. After a couple of weeks the screen went gray and with in another two weeks it went out completly. I wouldnt recomend it.

I could not find reviews for this TV but was on a great Sale on AMAZON..so went with this ...I have a Samsung DLP & a Samsung 32" LCD for the master bed...got this one for the guest bedroom...must say regular non HD channels look better on this TV ...HD I could not differentiate between this & the Samsung LCD....The sound is way better than the others on the market...crisp sharp colours & great picture with lots & lots of features...will recommend to anyone looking for a 26" (1080i)TV ...the best by all standards...
The only thing I wish it was was support 1080P....
