I bought 1 pair then a few months later bought another pair although the grills on the first pair have a small difference between the second set I love them . I installed them in the ceiling of my new house & they work great with no distortion and good quality sound . I would and will recommend them . On: 2007-07-30
These are my 4th pair (Two pair for surround sound in the family room, one pair for the upstairs hallway for house music, and now one pair in the garage).
The sound is amazing, whether or not you consider the price...they just sound great, period. And they are very easy to install. On: 2007-06-27
Ive been planning to install a whole house audio system for some time, but have been held up selecting speakers since I dont want to spend a fortune on them. I am by no means an audiophile, and generally cant tell much of a difference between really high end speakers and normal consumer grade stuff when I listen to them in the store. Having read the other positive reviews here I figured I would try a pair of these and would be perfectly happy with them. Turns out there ARE speakers bad enough even for me to tell. These speakers are extremely tinny, sounding no better than if I cranked up the sound coming from my laptop to fill the room. I still have not selected speakers, but I cannot possibly use these. by: dan-o-war On: 2007-03-30
Easy to install, and they sound really nice for the price. My only gripe is that it can be REALLY hard to turn the screws that secure them to the drywall. Each speaker has 4 "feet" that anchor it tightly to the drywall and I was only able to get three of them to turn on each speaker. On: 2007-01-14
I reviewed a LOT of speakers before purchasing these. In fact, I agonized for six months over which speakers to buy for my family room, whether to cut holes in the ceiling, mount speakers on the wall with brackets, etc. Numerous visits to Circuit City and Best Buy had me discouraged. The speakers they offered looked nice, but they didnt sound as good as the $30 bookshelf speakers right on the next shelf over, and cost about eight times as much. I finally took a gamble with these AudioSource speakers (had never even heard of the brand before), given the price, size and wattage.
I am very pleased with the sound. I am not a sound engineer, but I do consider myself an audiophile and appreciate good sound - good lows AND highs without either overpowering the other. These speakers deliver that balance.
The directions were easy to follow and with a little help, I had them installed in about 2 hours, including prep time, running cable, clean-up, etc.
The description on these speakers dont do them justice. They sound better than the Polk, Infinity, JBL speakers I tested at Circuit City and Best Buy, which were in the $200+ price range.
I highly recommend them.
