This DVD Recorder was an acceptable product if taken as a DVD recorder - the functions worked acceptably, if not good, the picture was decent and generally everything was not bad.
What REALLY was awful was it had a ground-feedback loop. The ground was fed too much power. This carried to the TV which was on the same surge protector. It made the screen fuzzy and made me think my TV was broken for longest time. When removed to be replaced by an upscaling model, the problem was removed. Tried with another Television, the same issue.
I would not buy another DVD player from Liteon. I like their drives and components, but I will never buy another thing from them that plugs into the wall! On: 2007-03-17
Its a great DVD player except for weak output signals.
I wanted to connect the output to my DVD recorder and TV, but it wont
support both. Had to buy separate audio and video amplifiers. On: 2006-10-30
Bought this the other day after returning 1. a Sony DVD recorded that cost $200 and did not read new discs and failed after a few burns, 2. the Samsung 130 recorder $135 that could not read lower end blank DVD-Rs. I knew nothing about Lite-On, but it was on sale at BJs for $100. First impressions is that it CAN read the DVD-Rs that the other two could not, and the pic quality appears much better than the samsung and about the same as the sony. I am a little concerned that the other older lite-on burner failed after a year (according to the other cust reviews), but so far this is great for the price, or even upwards of $200.
