CREATIVE LABS Zen Touch 40GB Jukebox MP3 WMA Player

Impressed     On: 2006-06-28

This is an excellent MP3 player if you dont mind the size. It is a little larger than desired but when you compare its capacity and price you cant complain. The software interface is the not best but it is pretty easy to figure out. I have just over 3000 songs (a long way from the 10,000 song capacity!) and have had no problems with my machine.

The case is a pain because you cant acccess the controls when it is in it.

Overall, I really like it.
Performs better than I'd hoped     On: 2006-06-19

I am a soldier currently deployed to Iraq (Im writing this 19JUN2006). I bought this, rather than an iPod, because of the battery life, and I had seen people have trouble with the beating their iPods took here in a previous deployment. The Cretive Zen Touch performs as advertised. I usually get well over 20 hours on a charge, and I "song hop" a lot, which uses more power. The leather case it came with was perfect, also. It adequately protects the unit, and can be hung on your belt.
The software works well, is fairly intuitive and does the job. There are also other software packages (Notmad is one) that add even more functionality. After using the Creative Zen Touch in a difficult environment, with sand and temps up to 118F, I am extremely satisfied. The biggest accolade I can give it is that I would buy it again if I had it to do over. Highly Recommended
Questions     On: 2006-06-17

I want to know if anyone knows what other case will work with this player. I have not purchased this mp3 player yet, but when I do I want to have a case to go with it that allows me access to all of the buttons on the player. I wish creative would make more accessories for this player. I know other people say they have bought a case from another seller, but they never said who it was. I really want a good case for this great player. Please give me some answers to my questions. Thanks.
A nice alternative to the IPOD     On: 2006-05-23

I did an awful lot of homework on MP3 players before taking the plunge and I ultimately chose this one. This small, lightweight MP3 player is a good alternative to the ubiquitous IPOD. It is durable and very easy to operate. The program that comes with it for loading music is a snap to load and very easy to understand. And if, like me, you want lots of storage space but dont want or need a video screen for viewing movies, this is a great choice.( Every IPOD with this much storage space includes a video screen, but really, who wants to watch a movie on such a small screen ? ) Another plus is the battery. While mine certainly doesnt last for 24 hours ( the more songs you have in it, the less it lasts, simply because it has to access such a large catalogue ) I have been getting about 16 hours of play before I need a charge, and I have well over 5,000 songs on it, and its barely tapping into available space. Charging is also a breeze, as the player can be plugged into any wall outlet with the adapter supplied with the start up kit ( which also includes the USB adapter )so you dont have to dock it to a computer just to charge the battery. I also like the adjustable EQ and the automatic shutoff ( great for listening while falling asleep at night ). Perhaps the only downside is the lack of a huge variety of accessories, although I did find a speaker docking/charging system here on Amazon called a PLAYDOCK for listening without having to use earphones.
