This mask is not appropriate for someone with impaired cognition. My grandmother has COPD as well as Alzheimers, and must wear a bipap at night. Unfortunately, she has a habit of pulling on the mask. The assembly at the top will fall apart very easily, and the front part that swivels will break off without too much effort. It is held on by a thin plastic ring that is just glued on, and it doesnt take much to break it, rendering it useless. If you are using this product for yourself, it might be sufficient, but do not buy this for any patient who is likely to forget and put unnecessary pressure on the thing!
