Disappointing audio and color     On: 2006-12-24

First, I must state that I bought this TV to replace my standard definition set without upgrading the other equipment. Nevertheless, the audio problems would not be resolved by high definition equipment, and Im wary of the color.

The internal speakers are tinny. Although I have long been using external sound, that has been problematic with this set. There are loud pops when you turn the set on and off. Worse, there is a LOUD buzz when the set is off. I have also noticed static underneath the sound track when I am watching a show.

I have not been able to eliminate the green shaddows on faces, nor the diagonal lines travelling up the screen. I dont know how much of this is a product of low quality input, but I would have expected the TV to look at least as good as my old standard definition CRT.

On the good side, the TV boasts every kind of input that you could ask for--from coax to HDI to VGA. (Makes a TERRIFIC monitor for multiple viewers, and is worth the price for that function.) But Im afraid we will not get past the audio problems in our household.
