Terrible software, poor wireless range     On: 2008-07-11

One thing that Ive learned about logitech products over the years is that while the design and innovation can be top notch, the software is not. That being said, I installed Setpoint.exe on my Vista Home Premium system and it didnt work properly. I use firefox so I use my middle mouse click to open new tabs, but when I installed setpoint, it no longer worked. After some tweaking, I got it to work... for a short while, then it stopped working again. It also caused a problem with iTunes - iTunes wouldnt close on its own. It would always say "a script is using iTunes, do you want to close" so you would have to click "close" again. Not a major problem, just an annoyance. I went on the logitech website and installed a newer version (SetpointBR.exe)and that caused a major problem where my mouse would click on its own and the icons on my desktop would grow and shrink (like someone was holding ctrl+scroll wheel). Finally, I gave up on the software.

Worst of all, the keyboard wont work if it doesnt have a direct line of sight to the speaker (the speaker, by the way is the receiver to connect to the mouse & keyboard). I had my keyboard on a keyboard tray beneath my desk and my speaker next to my monitor. The keyboard would not register approximately 15% of my keystrokes even though it was only about a foot away. Of course, it works fine when the keyboard is on the desk and can "see" the speaker.

All in all, its not worth the money or the time of playing with the software. Im looking for a new set.
nice combo!     On: 2008-06-06

add the webcam and youre all set. It helps me to clean up my cable clutter, the mouse & keyboard is quite comfort, the microphone is quite sensitive yet smart enough to cancel the noise.
Need the european driver for Skype - can be a big deal for some people. Overall Im happy and will recommend it.

The only con: non rechargeable mouse.
Has a life of its own     On: 2008-05-28

While the keyboard and mouse works just fine for me so far, the biggest and most annoying problem with this system is that it messes with my sound settings without asking me. In other words, every time I close and reopen the internet or have to restart the computer, it changes the default settings in the sound control panel to use the speakerphone, rather that the original sound settings. What happens then is sound is cut from my Logitech 2.1 speakers. So every time I have to go into the Control Panel and change the sound settings. I have not been able to come up with one single way to keep this from happening, and of course you have to use the speakerphone for the wireless to work. I am currently shopping for another wireless set up.
Good, Bad and OK     On: 2008-02-29

Good - You will get a Wireless Keyboard and mouse, which works without any issues. You Can use the wireless controller as a speaker phone, mic and call control buttons. So you could use the headset for another computer (if you want to)

Bad - Mouse battery dies within 1-2 months. No visual indication of caps lock, num lock etc on keyboard( LEDs)

This not a portable version, you cant use the mouse as portable wireless mouse while traveling. Best suited for desktop computers.

Love it and Hate it     On: 2008-02-24

I love the mouse that came with the combo, but I hate the keyboard, not that it isnt comfortable, but rather it has some quirks. I like to play FPSs, which sometimes require multiple key presss, however the keyboard doesnt seem to like this, at least mine. It will do one button press and hold it until you release both keys. Ive tried logitechs fixs (reconnection the keyboard to the base) and that fixed it for about a hour, and then its back to driving me crazy.

Other than not being able to use my keyboard to play some games, its been a good keyboard so far. My only other complaint is the fact that you cant really use it with a kvm switch. I have two computers, and only enough space on the desk for one keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Fortunately my kvm is a older ps/2 connector style, and so I was able to leave the previous keyboard and mouse plugged into it, and use it to switch between computers, but it still requires me to have two keyboard and two mice.

Excellent product. The microphone is clear and speakers do not produce feedback. Easy setup. The mouse is excellent with a nice indicator of battery level. The only complaint I have is that the F1-F12 keys are too short in height compared to the other keys and that theres no scroll wheel for easy scrolling while surfing the web.
A good and complete set     On: 2007-12-01

The keyboard is slim and nice, unlike those more professional ones which take too much of your desk space. It has reduced size of ESC and F1-F12 keys, which I do not know if will be trouble for some people (like VIM programmer), but so far they work just fine to me. The wrist rest pad is a bit strange, because it is half soft-pad half plastic. So the feeling to hand is not consistent. Therefore I cannot say it is comfort.

The mouse is decent. It is comfort and not clumsy. The highlights are the horizontal scrolling and 5 additional keys. I do not feel quite good to use the three zoom keys because I have to twist my point finger a bit to reach them. But my hand is not big. Maybe it is just fine for you. BTW, it is a laser mouse, which I think is a bonus.

THe speaker is heavy, which is not a bad thing. And it looks really good. Its sound is fine. But it is not perfect for music (no doubt by its size). However, it also overkills the voice chatting because generally the VOIP quality is not good. Nonetheless it is right for you if you sometimes just need a simple speaker (plus a speakphone).

The earphone, which looks not that great, does have good sound. It has a bass which is stronger than my expectation but the high sound is just soso. The speakphone in the earphone can be twisted in any shape, which is a great and essential feature. Finally, I cannot comment on its comfortableness. It really depends.

I get this product by a good deal. For its regular price I will give it four stars. It is a pretty good choice when you also come across a good deal.

====Edit after 2 months of use:
The earphone turns out to be bad. The strong bass is destroying the quality of sound. So dont hope that it will be a decent one for your entertainment.

The mouse and keyboard are good so far. About the speaker, as I am using skype, the audio output sometimes jumps from easycall speaker to the soundcard speaker, which is very annoying. I have to disable the soundcard to make it rest.

Nice package. I had an old dell wireless keyboard and mouse from about 4 years ago and it was time to upgrade. Its a really comfortable keyboard with a precise mouse. I use the headset for skyping with my gf, it works well. Good on batteries.
Cool techinc product     On: 2007-11-09

Perfect combination for the desktop. The speaker works fine in a small room and the keyboard is perfect for controlling the media in XP or Vista. The only bad is the keyboard and its driver dont support Skype.
Bad Sound     On: 2007-10-25

I was pretty jazzed up to see this EasyCall solution. It addresses the headphone problems that Ive been having working from home. Whenever a phone call would come in, it would always take me a while to answer the call because I had to first pause/stop my music player, then take off my PC headphones, then fumble around to put on my telephone headphones, then answer the call. This setup cuts out all those steps and all I have to do is press a button to answer the call. The only problem is that music coming from the PC sounds like crap, even with the Skype hack. It is flat and tinny. The quality may be high enough for phone calls, though. Ill have to return this item and look for the next solution, unfortunately.
Just Excellent!!!!     On: 2007-08-11

It does everything I wanted. The product arrived on time and it does exactly what the description says.
Thanks a lot
Awesome but you need to hack for Skype support     On: 2007-08-11

I am so impressed with the quality of each of the components in this desktop. The mouse is really top notch: precise and very comfortable in the hand. The keyboard has smooth buttons and is a pleasure to type on. The speakerphone itself is heavy and high quality. My one big gripe with this system was that it came with AIM and Yahoo messenger support only, and I am a Skype user. Most of the buttons for managing phone calls (initiate a call, end a call, online status, dial) were just not available to use with Skype, you can only launch Skype, but then you have to do everything else on screen with the mouse, which kind of defeats the whole reason why I invested in this desktop.
For whatever licensing reasons, these sets are only sold in Europe with Skype support. The good news is that there is an EASY hack to get native Skype support with this desktop system in the USA, and the solution is as follows (thanks to mstarmetro.net):
1. Make sure to go to the logitech site and download the latest release of the setpoint drivers for the desktop ending in "*br.exe" (Use the UK site to get a European download)
2. Run regedit (Program Files / Run... / Regedit ) then find / create a dword called VOIP in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Logitech\\SetPoint
3. Set it to 1 and re-install SetPoint BR and Skype support will be included.

I LOVE this set now that it works seamlessly with Skype.

Nifty Gadget     On: 2007-08-04

I love this item absolutely perfect for people who work from home and take calls. I love the phone that goes with it, it makes things so easier when I have to take phone calls. I dont have to lug my big phone around with me everywhere. I have everything I need right in front of me! Perfect.
Great purchase.     On: 2007-06-16

Good deal, great purchase, and on-time delivery.
Buggy drivers cause crackling sound and mouse problem     On: 2007-05-23

[UPDATE: The crackling sounds and mouse problems went away when I installed the Skype hack.]
I was really excited to get this new keyboard and mouse, as my old Logitech combo had croaked. Unfortunately, as soon as I installed the Setpoint 3.1 software, I got a crackling background sound added to whatever I was listening to through my main speakers. I uninstalled all the Logitech software (including Mouseware), downloaded and installed the latest Setpoint version 3.3. Same problem. Also, both Setpoint installations caused another problem: the window you are working in loses "focus" every few seconds (the title bar dims and it becomes an inactive window, requiring you to reclick within the window to bring the focus back.) The only good thing I can say is that all the basic functions (no arrow keys, no number pad, no special function buttons) of both the keyboard and mouse work even with all the Setpoint tripe removed, so my computer is not completely unusable as I wait for Logitech to fix this. At a minimum I would wait until Logitech releases v.4.0 before buying this.
One last thing: the speakerphone is bass heavy and treble shy, so it sounds a bit muddy.
Super keyboard     On: 2007-04-17

Havent yet read the manual to make use of everything this product does, but the few things Ive stumbled across while using it are great! I paired this with a Logitech wireless trackball - the mouse the keyboard comes with is ok but I find trackballs more efficient.
Easy call     On: 2007-03-14

It is really helpful for me, especially when I have to make international calls; communication is very clear, made feel like my family is not so far away from me.
I love the keyboard and the mouse, because I dont need to deal with any cord at all, and its fantastic.
