The ILoR04 is super easy to operate.The only negative and this is a minor issue is it only records on R+ and RW+.It will play R- and RW- but it wont record on them.Again this is a minor issue.These units make beautiful recordings,I have owned three of them and all worked perfectly as long as you clean laser every 15 hours.If you have never owned a dvd recorder this unit is probably as easy to use as any on the market.Has a DV link so you can hook up your camcorder.Has an onscreen menu.Also plays audio CDs,Video CDs and SUPER VCDs and what I like is they play the new MP3s.Unit is fairly compact and lightweight.

This was a fair starter DVD recorder. I have owned it for a year and have been having problems with it for a few months. It jams and pauses itself repeatedly while recording. When it records correctly, the quality is good. If you leave it on pause for too long, it shuts itself off and when you try to start back up it will not read the disc. You can not watch or record from it for a while or view TV programs from the video link until it resets.
