These Athena speakers are great as front speakers in a surround system. I am using them with a Harmon Kardon surround system, similar to the Bose Acoustimass, which utilitzes subwoofer and small surround speakers. Compared to larger speakers, these look great and perform wonderfully.

Ive had these for a couple years now and use them for my livingroom stereo. They are clean and bright with great sound, although the mid sound is a little flat. Definately need a sub to extend these to lower sounds.
Overall I like these although they lack warm sound in the mid and low end. If you like clear music without heavy resonation they are fine. I find them most lacking when listening to full bodied classical music. I find that instruments like the cello, obo and french horns arent as rich as they should be. My sub makes up the double base and kettle drums.
