Sirius Wired FM Relay Retail Package By: Sirius Satellite Radio More Information

I got a Sirius radio for Christmas last year and originally installed it with the FM antenna. I really like the radio and the service, but since I drive around a lot for my job I was constantly messing around with my tuner trying to find the best reception. I bought the direct FM relay package in hopes of solving that problem, and it works wonders. Set the Sirius receiver to any station you want and it will override the FM signal from the strongest station with great sound quality. If for some crazy reason you tire of listening to Sirius, just turn the receiver off and your FM service resumes without missing a beat. All in all a great buy that I wish I had thought of when I first got the radio. On: 2008-05-23
this is the best thing sirus came up with no stactic what so ever, clear all the time, no need to hunt for radio stations! great product On: 2008-05-19
This item does what it says. I installed it between my Sirius Stiletto and my car stero. By having the "direct wired" connection (this item) it reduces virtually 99.99% of any FM static used when broadcasting via the FM remote to your car stero. I installed it myself - no problems. HIghly recommend to anyone using an "unwired" sirius product using the FM transmit mode. On: 2008-05-08
This device is a MUST if the radio in the car you are installing the satellite radio does not have an external input jack accessible either on the front or rear. The other options provided such as the internal antenna extension of your cars existing antenna or any other "gimmicks" will NOT work. You MUST use this device to make a "closed" connection between the Sirius control head and your cars FM radio. Once connected (professional installation required), you will tune the Sirius control head and your cars radio to a "quiet" (inactive) FM channel in your area (information provided by Sirius or you can explore on your own). Once the two radios are in sync, you will hear crystal clear reception with NO static or other anamolies which exist with regular terrestrial radio! Also, all instructions tell you to mount the satellite radio antenna on the outside of your car and give explicit directions as to where, how, etc. I have found that you can install the antenna on the INSIDE of your car on the dashboard, in the corner of the windshield, where it is almost unnoticed. As long as the antenna can see the sky (and your windshield does not contain any space age treatments like heating elements, sun glare deflectors or any other "things" which could block the satellite signal) you are good to go. The exterior mounting of the antenna while the best for optimum signal reception also presents other issues such as potential theft or auto break-in as you are announcing you have a satellite radio system in your car, the cars paint finish can be marred if the antenna shifts (this can happen if you go through a car wash) or if someone tries to lift it off the car (theft, curiosity, etc.). So, all of these issues go away if you place the antenna inside the car. I personally put the antenna (which is the size of a silver dollar) in the left corner of the windshield and ran the wire through the plastic molding and under the dash, carpeting, etc. to the rear of the Sirius radio control head. A nice, neat installation with NO wires showing and the antenna is barely noticeable! With the control head connected to my cars Delco AM / FM / CD radio via this device, the sound is studio quality, noise free and a joy to listen to! Of course, you will experience occasional "drop-outs" when you go through obstructions like heavy foliage (trees), underpasses, tunnels, etc. but these are TEMPORARY / MOMENTARY inconveniences and the satellite signal is RAPIDLY re-acquired as soon as you clear them. I cant say enough good things about the Sirius experience - many choices, great listening pleasure and cool radios - I got the Sportster 5 myself which is the latest and is a way cool device. Sirius and XM will merge soon and I am sure prices are going to go up so do yourself a favor and get on-board now BEFORE the merge and anticipated monthly subscription fee increase. Right now, depending on what plan you take, your cost can be as little as $[...] per month and you get free online computer access to Sirius as well, so you can listen while at home or work or away on vacation! One final consideration: visit [...] for literally dozens of mounting options for your satellite radio and any other devices you have in your car such as GPS, radar / laser detectors, etc. They have a mount for just about every conceivable device and location in a car where it could go. I chose the "cupholder" mount with its 5 inch pedestal. It holds the Sirius control head at an angle and looks real sharp (especially at night). Check them out for many more options and once your installation is complete, enjoy the music from "the Big Dog in the sky" as Cousin Brucie says! On: 2008-04-27
Im a Do-It-Yourself kind of person (saves money) so this was a no-brainer. I wanted better & dependable reception for the Sirius radio so I installed this kit.
It is a straight-forward installation, although I had to go to Circuit City & buy an antenna adapter for my Buick Rendezvous. All in all, Im happy with it and plan on purchasing another one for the 2nd car. On: 2008-04-13
I own a Sportster 4 which has the new, low power FM modulator so when I purchased this item I had low expectations but I was amazed that it works so great. I have used The SIRIUS FM Antenna Extension Cable and its instructions say to find a frequency with no station but I always got interference. This item, the Sirius Wired FM Relay, does what is supposed to do. I decided to try something as a test to see how good it really works. I set my radio on the most powerful FM station in my area and I set the modulator frequency to the same and it completely cancels out the over the air radio station with no static what so ever. Using a cassette adapter or a direct input cable are easier since you dont need to remove the radio to install them but if you do not have the option of a cassette player or direct input this unit works excellent. It is truly the only way to interface your Sirius radio with your automobile radio. No interference. No wires hanging. Easy installation. Full transmission quality. Good price. On: 2008-04-04
Just installed this on my truck and all I can say is wow...What a difference
worth every penny. On: 2008-03-27
If you have a Sirius satelite radio this is a must have. The FM transmitters are just lousy. Stay far away from them. This little puppy is a direct connection from your FM out in the back of your radio into the antenna in. Crisp uninterrupted sound at last!!!!! On: 2008-03-25
This is the way to go if you dont have an AUX in on your car stereo. There is NO static and you have good sound. It was simple to install for me as well since I knew how to remove my radio and the antenna connection needed no adaptors. On: 2008-03-15
If you use your sirius radio in your car this adapter is a MUST.
After being frustrated with station "Bleed" over the Sirius stations, I asked around and someone said I need a "Relay adapter" I went on the Sirius site and found it and then, (of course) I came to Amazon to buy it!
Sirius FMDA25 Wired FM Relay Adapter On: 2008-03-01
All I can say is that I was frustrated when I had my Sirius radio installed in my truck. My radio did not allow a direct connection to my FM modulator so I was using RF. It sounded terrible and did not even come in most of the time. The Sirius FMDA25 Wired Relay Adaptet was easy to install, and completely solved the problem. My satellite radio is crystal clear 100% of the time now. It will fix all of the static that you get with RF feed. On: 2008-02-26
We travel out of state a lot and did not want to hunt for clear stations to receive my Sirius radio and this product works like advertised. Just tune into the one frequency and voila, clear stearo radio no matter where you are. On: 2008-02-16
Like others have said, the FM transmitter does not work. After a long time on the phone with customer service, they admitted that with the new FCC rules the transmitter signal is too weak to give good sound on many radios. You have to get the system hardwired to get it to work correctly.
Tip - call customer service and complain long and hard enough that it was false advertising and eventually they will agree to sending you the hardwire kit for free and also credit your account $30 dollars for the approx cost of getting it installed. They also have installation kit gift cards that they can give you. On: 2008-02-15
I have an 01 Chevy. The OEM radio has a smaller connector than on this product. When I called Circuit City (where I eventually purchased, and paid more $29) about this, they told me there was not any other model and that Id have to pay $15...times 2...for converters. Thats $50-60 total for this feature.
So, I hooked up the antenna extender included in the box and guess what - it worked fine. No static. Even in Houston, I found a station (95.3) that worked just fine without this expensive feature.
I havent looked for a version thats made to work with my car without needing adapters, but it seems I dont need this device or CCs overpriced connectors. Make sure you check the return policy if buying. I will certainly be returning mine to the store. I dont need it or its overpriced conversion connectors. On: 2008-02-14
If you are considering Sirius radio this unit is the item that will make the difference in your listening. It clears up all static and sounds like you are listening to a regular FM station. On: 2008-02-08
Dont even waste your time with an FM modulator it only causes frustration, Either use a relay adapter or direct line in and Sirius works perfect with no interference from the radio. On: 2008-01-11
Definitely a must have. Say good by to the static caused by the standard FM setup. That use to really annoy me. On: 2007-12-28
If you are having a problem losing your channel on Sat radio you need this product. I have not lost my channel since I installed this product. Small and easy to install 2 wires.
Thank you

Just installed the Stiletto in my 05 Toyota Corolla. The built in FM Transmitter is very weak. So I installed the FM Relay. Its like night and day. Now I get great static free sound in my car. On: 2007-09-06
This piece does whats promised. It provides a consistent, clear signal far better than the built-in transmitter. It eliminates much of the clutter of the cassette-tape adapter and does the job in cars that dont have cassette players. Installation isnt too tricky for home installation, but so many cars these days have manufacturer-specific antenna inputs and outputs that theres a good chance youll need adapters. Theyre more expensive than they should be (about $10 to $30-plus), and the Ford version is a lot harder to find than GM. On: 2007-09-03
I had to replace my old Sportster with the new Starmate unit. After reading reviews about bad reception with the wireless FM, I bought this. It works great! I would give it 5 stars but I never used my wireless unit, so i dont have anything to compare it with. But this does great!! On: 2007-07-26
Just installed the Stiletto in my car, but listen to the other reviewers and install the FM module-works great with it...and not so great without. Well worth the $20 investment. On: 2007-07-19
I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how well this product works.
I have an 07 Accord so it was a bit of a PITA figuring out how to get to the radio antenna in the dash. If you google around for your car and "remove radio" you will undoubtedly find directions for accessing it. That was the most difficult part and it only took me about 30 minutes from start to finish.
I recently got the Starmate 4 for my car. I had one of the old original Audiovox units from when Sirius was first starting up. It was huge, bulky, I had lost the mount for it, and it got VERY hot when in operation. Almost so hot that you couldnt touch it. Hence I decided to upgrade to a newer model. When I received and installed the Starmate I was surprised to see that the built-in FM modulator was horrible. And when I connected the FM antenna extender it came with, it made the sound WORSE. The static made it almost unlistenable through my radio. I googled around and found that the FCC had stepped in and regulated the amount of power the FM modulators were allowed to emit. So my Audiovox unit was better in that fashion since it was built before the FCC rules were established.
To fix the problem I got this Wired Relay Adapter. Basically you plug your cars antenna into it, then plug the wire into your radio. The other end routes through your dash and goes into your Sirius radio. The reception is 100% clear now. No more static. The downside is that you have to a) remember to turn off the Sirius radio if you want to listen to FM because it kills all of the stations, and b) regardless of whether it is on or off it kills AM reception. I dont often listen to AM and guess I dont have a need now (except for local TV stations).
All in all I am VERY happy with this product. It took a Starmate that sounded worse than an old Audiovox I had, and made it MUCH better in the end. 100% worth the $19.99 for this item if you have the know-how to get into your dash. On: 2007-05-30
When I bought this model as a Christmas gift there was a $20 refund. that $20 paid for this additional FM adapter but it works extremely well. No more static. I highly recommend it. On: 2007-05-29

Great product. I had major troubles with radio station interference when using the Sirius radio without this product. Once installed it disconnects the external antenna and eliminates the interference problems. When your Sirius radio is turned off, your external antenna works normally.
I highly recommend this product if you cant use a direct connection from your Sirius radio to your car radio.
