This is my THIRD Canon Elph, and I enjoy each one more than the previous one. As a happy owner of an SD400, I moved onto this one as an upgrade and I have not been disappointed.
The functions of this one are even better than previous models. The video is actually SO great for a small point and shoot that I find myself using it more and more for clips of the kids and we watch the video on a HUGE screen tv and it looks great! I think redeye processing on this model has improved a bit over the previous model, but I still think it could do better. Thats really my ONLY complaint with this camera.
Ive taken great shots and had them blown up to posters for my wall. I love the fun color features of this camera as well. It does great night shots and Ive taken some wonderful fireworks photos. I dont leave home without this camera! On: 2008-11-02
I have a rebel XTi and it is a wonderful camera but for my college design class it is not particularly handy for getting from one place to another, especially to photograph process work in class everyday. So naturally I came straight here to buy this one because of excellent ship timing and good customer service. Im a electronics sales person at a large office supplier and had previously sold this camera not only to other people but to myself figuratively as well. I had seen it in action in the store previously and wanted one myself. I love it, have had it for 3 or 4 weeks no problems with functionality at all. The screen got scuffed a bit but thats to be expected and doesnt necessarily degrade my opinion of the camera, especially because its mostly my fault. Fits in my pocket great too, good for Friday nights and such. Its a little slow in red eye mode but thats easily fixed by changing it out of that mode. Love the screen size. Excellent camera, buy it. When I ordered this camera, I didnt realized it didnt have an optical viewfinder. The upshot is that it has a wonderful, large LCD screen that is perfect--unless it is sunny out, in which case the screen is totally washed out and you are left shooting blindly and hoping for the best. It does take great pictures, but the lack of viewfinder is a major flaw if you ever want to take photos on a bright day. On: 2008-10-24
Spent a long time researching before I bought. I had a Kodak easyshare that took such bad pictures I was surprised and shocked they would sell such a bad camera. Love this one so far. Feels solid and sturdy, small enough to carry easily in small purses (or my Pelican Box for on the water)Picture quality is great and very user friendly. I know there are cameras with more options but easy point and click use was my priority after picture quality. Very happy so far. On: 2008-10-24
I used this camera in Mexico for a week and it was fantastic both indoors and out. It also took great sunset shots. On: 2008-10-24
This is a great camera. There are many fun features such as color accent and fun sound effects. The battery last a long time, but the only thing is, it doesnt give you is a constant reading of the battery level. It only tells you when the battery is about to run out. you have about 5 minutes of use before it runs out once you see the low battery sign. Overall this camera is easy to use, small and easily concealed, light weight and durable. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a reasonably priced digital camera. On: 2008-10-24
I usually shoot with Nikon SLRs, but purchased this mainly as an underwater camera (with the underwater case). Impressed with the quality for a point and shoot, and now also use this when I dont want to lug my equipment around. The mpg function is also nice to have. On: 2008-10-22
Its no secret, Cannons are by far thee best camera you could by for the money. I purchased this camera right before vacation. I am so pleased that I did. The pictures were crystal clear and the features on the phone are great. I was able to show my friends and family my pictures by setting up a slide show on the TV with ease. At that price, it is a GRRRREAT value. On: 2008-10-20
This camera is fantastic. I looked at a lot of other cameras when I was searching for one, and this one just stood out among the rest. For what it offers and the price, I couldnt find another camera that had the same features. For an everyday user, this camera is great. If you are looking for a professional camera, you might want one with higher megapixels. I love the big screen and the built-in features are wonderful. I absolutely love the color accent mode. (color accent will allow you to pick a certain color, and then make everything else black-and-white except that color. Really cool effect). For the price, I dont think you can beat it. Two other people that have used my camera are convinced they want it and are going to by it later. Just check the reviews. They speak for themselves. On: 2008-10-19
I am quite pleased with the camera. I am far from a photography expert so I quite naturally am not hard to please. It takes great photos with ease and in the few situations where I had some questions, the CSRs at Canon were readily available by telephone and, in addition, were quite pleasant, understandable and helpful. Finally, as has ALWAYS been my experience with Amazon.com, the camera arrived on a very timely basis, free of charges for shipping, and in excellent condition.

Again, a great camera from Canon. I have bought 6-7 cameras - all canon for family and friends and they all turned out to be good. This one (SD750) - for my wife is my best buy. We have probably taken around 5000+ pics in the 1 yr we had this. We have shot in different regions, different climates and in difficult conditions - this camera has never failed. The camera also looks great. Would recommend this to everybody looking for a great value. On: 2008-10-14
I bought this camera to replace my sisters old one which was the older model and she loved it. It has so many features and it takes great pictures. It has a big lcd screen which was one of its selling points for her. Canon makes great cameras and we definitely dont regret buying this one. On: 2008-10-13
This camera rocks! I had purched a Kodak before this one and was extremely disappointed in the picture quality and ended up returning it. So, before I bought this camera I really did my homework and made sure that it had all the features I wanted. It has all of that and more! It takes fantatic picutes, its easy to use and the perfect size to ride around in my purse so that its there when I need it! It does not have an optical view finder wich does not bother me because the screen is huge, very clear, and easy to see even in sunlight. On: 2008-10-12
Great small camera. Very handy and easy to use. 3x zoom should be more. On: 2008-10-09
This camera is small, easy to stash and versatile. Takes great pics and is easy to use. Bought for my wedding and honeymoon for candid shots, fit perfectly in my tux lapel and got great shots! Such a good deal! On: 2008-10-06
I love this camera and bought it after I lost the very similar Canon SD200. The problem was Amazon. It took them almost two weeks to deliver. The event I wanted the camera for had already happened. The camera was in stock, and shipped out of their Berkeley, CA facility. Thats only 40 miles from me. If theyd just let the camera out of the box it probably could have made its own way here faster than Amazons delivery. Anyway, it is a nice camera, but if I had it to do over Id go out and buy it at Target or Best Buy.
It just wasnt worth the wait.
On: 2008-10-06
This is the second time Ive bought this camera. I lost it the first time and wanted the same one. I actually liked this one more than the newer ones with more gbs that I dont really need especially at the higher price. Never had a problem with it and it has more features than I could ever wnat. On: 2008-10-04
Nice large display, easy to use, very compact camera.
Battery life is good even with flash use. You can buy very inexpensive extra batteries on Amazon for this camera if needed.
I recommend to purchase this unit. On: 2008-10-03
not only is this a terrific camera, but the video feature is very high quality. i bought a video camera, another brand, and it wasnt any better than using the video feature on this camera, so i returned the video camera. the only thing the video is not as useful for is recording something that requires a powerful zoom. i only need to use it to record my baby and its perfect for that! On: 2008-09-30
I had this camera for less than a month and something in the lens broke. I loved the quality of the pics and the camera in general. But the fact that it broke within a month (I havent done anything to cause it to break...drop it, scratch it, etc.) shows that something internal was not made properly and I am very disappointed! On: 2008-09-30
I love this one. I made everybody in my family buy it. The nice thing is, everybody likes it... from my parents who barely know what "digital" means to my cousin, who is a professional photographer. But obviuosly take into consideration: it doesnt substitute a high end reflex camera... and its not supposed to. Have fun with it! On: 2008-09-28
I have Canon powershot. Treated it very gently but it broke down with the famous lens error that happens with many Canon cameras "E18" Check the discussions on Consumer affairs dot com. On: 2008-09-25
I really like this camera.
Only missing feature is IS, but I dont really miss it much as I use a small GorillaPod with it.
The only other negative is that the LCD is not accurate is displaying the picture you took. So an underexposed image shows bright on the back LCD, so watch your histogram. On: 2008-09-24
My family loves this camera. The only problem is that the 32 MB does not hold alot of pictures but it is my fault because Amazon recommends a memory card of at least 1 GB but I did not read it before I purchased the camera. Will buy the 2 GB card. On: 2008-09-23
I recently bought this camera for a friend. I bought the identical camera for myself last year, so I have a years experience with it to share with you. In my opinion Canon makes the best digital cameras. This model was rated the best by Consumer Reports last year and I bought it on their recommendation. They were right. Its great. Amazon is selling it for half of what last years price was. What a bargain! Its a great all around camera. Very fine color and imaging. The camera can automatically set itself for a high ISO, so indoor pictures are bright even if you dont use the flash. The battery charges in about two hours and one charge lasts for many days. The controls are easy to use. The optical zoom is more than adequate. My suggestion is you also buy a 2 gigabyte chip to go with it since that will allow you to take more than 1000 pictures without unloading the chip. You can get a 2 gig chip for $[...] at [...] and elsewhere. A spare battery is useful, but not necessary. You can buy a clone of the Canon battery online for about half the price of the Canon one. Im trying to think of negative things to say about this camera, but I cant think of any other than the fact that the door that gives you access to the chip and battery is plastic and seems very flimsy. But Ive used the camera for a year and havent had any problem with it, though I worried about it initially. The newer model has a stabilization feature. This one doesnt. But I havent experienced any blurry pictures, so I dont think thats important. I love this camera and so does my friend who got the one I just bought for him. On: 2008-09-22
This camera is great,I got it because I needed a digital camera for school and for my wife as well,so I got this camera because of the cheap price, the camera is perfect,it downloads pictures to your computer in 5 seconds, and its easy too. Also the picture quality is perfect, cristel clear. So if you want a didital camers that fits in your pocket this one is perfect. On: 2008-09-22
This is a great camera, we have had no issues with it. Takes great pictures. On: 2008-09-21
This is my second time purchasing this camera. I love the large screen and the compact size. It is easy to carry around and is light weight. However, I do find the auto focus is not always great. On occasion, my pictures are blurry. I also dont like that I can not take photos in black and white. I would recommend this camera in this price range but it does have limitations. On: 2008-09-20
BOUGHT THIS CAMERA FOR MY DAUGHTER. SHE REALLY ENJOYS IT. SIMPLE TO USE AND THE QUALITY OF PICTURES IS GREAT. On: 2008-09-19
this is my 3rd canon camera after a sd100 and a650. this camera is the best - great picture quality, fast shots, easy to use. i am pretty much sold on canon cameras even though this is one a little bit old. one small frustration and i think with all point and shoot digital cameras is the flash defaults to automatic and sometimes I wish it could default to "off" because its enough light to shoot without it but it turns on and ends washing the picture out and i miss the perfect pose/situation my kids were in. On: 2008-09-19
I already own this camera (I bought it when it first came out) and I bought this one for my parents. I own a digital SLR for serious photos but I use this camera for my fun photos...on vacation, at parties, etc. Its small enough to take with you everywhere and capture those candid moments. The auto-focus and flash both work well. My pictures come out clear and colorful. Even the video is not bad considering the format. The best part of the camera is the large view-screen. Its a thing of beauty. I dont know why Canon didnt continue this size of view-screen with later models. They offer bigger picture sizes (in this size, who needs more than 7 Mb?) and more controls. With this size camera, you dont want to be messing with too many settings. Ill take a larger screen over more buttons any day! This is a great product. On: 2008-09-18
The picture quality is excellent. Only problem so far has been photographing children playing in a gymnasium with no flash. Even "Kids and Pets" setting can keep this sharp. On: 2008-09-18
I bought this based on a recommendation from a friend who has the same one. So far so good! (One month owning it.) I like that you can do video as well as still photos. One feature I really like is that you can take multiple pictures by holding down the button. Thats helpful for kids & babies who "never" smile for the picture. Ive been able to use that and get good smiles from my baby. I just delete the rest that I dont want.
Im a little nervous with the camera not having a view finder (a window where your eye looks through), only a huge lcd screen. My moms cameras screen broke (casio model) and ended up needing to be replaced. If the screen breaks then there goes the camera. But, I guess thats the trend with most digi cams now a days. Big lcd with no view finder.
So far the battery has lasted a really long time, though Im thinking about getting another battery for a back up when were on a trip or away. I was at the zoo and the battery was dying and I couldnt take any more pictures. I have a power inverter for my car, so I could plug it in there if on a long trip but it still takes 2-3 hours to fully charge so I couldnt have done that at the zoo. The battery also needs to come out of the camera each time you charge it, there isnt a cord or docking station to charge it like other cameras. The battery charger is separate and I need to make sure that I dont lose it! :)
Amazon had the best price, it even beat Costco on sale! On: 2008-09-18
I am very pleased with the quality, the features and the price of this camera. I am expecting many years of trouble-free service because its a Canon. Thomas L. Barnhart On: 2008-09-17
I bought this for a friend for her birthday, and she was extremely happy with it. For the price, its a very nice camera - its really cool how, when you are viewing the pictures taken and rotate the camera, it actually rotates the picture as well. Definitely a worthhile buy. On: 2008-09-16
We owned a canon so when our daughter asked for a new camera for her birthday. We decided on the Canon PowerShot SD720 and let me tell u that she loves it! Whats not to love when the quality of the pictures are perfect. I really believe that its worth every penny and u wont be dissappointed. On: 2008-09-15
Pics are great. Not professional, but better than the other compacts Ive used. Ive had it for a while and its still in great shape, even without using a case for it. On: 2008-09-15
I just bought this camera and Im extremely happy with the ease at which I can operate it, the size and ease of carrying it around and the quality of the photos. Cant think of any more I would want from a camera. On: 2008-09-15
It works great with a very good price. My friend dropped it on the floor once, but it still works great. Quite durable for a delicate design. On: 2008-09-15
Just got this camera from a private purchase as the bride and groom got two different Canon models as wedding presents and decided to sell this one for $125 brand new! Im happy that they decided to sell this model instead of the SD1100...
I had a Canon SD500 but the wind blew it over while it was on a tripod during a vacation back in June 2008. So being thoroughly familiar with Canon, I decided to keep it within the Canon family. This camera exceeded all my expectations, even after thorough research online on alot of cameras... I was disappointed though, that the battery pack wasnt the same as I was hoping to utilize them without having to buy new ones.
I digress; back to camera review!
What I liked about this camera as compared from my previous (SD500) in priority order:
1) Large LCD screen of 3" which I dont understand why the newer models are only at 2.5"?!
2) Time Zone option. Now I can simply enter what time zone Im at if Im not at my "HOME" location without having to change time/date
3) Up to 1600 ISO so that I can take pictures in relatively dark environment without using flash if I so choose
4) Small and compact and best of all, LIGHT! I can barely feel the weight of this thing. The SD500 used to feel quite heavy even though they are both the same dimensions (SD500 was slightly fatter)
5) Custom self timer where I can change the delay longer than 10s as my SD500 was restricted to
6) Lots more SCN options that will allow you to get the best automated picture exposure for various situations
7) Continuous shooting capability (multiple shots where the limit is only the size of the your SD card).
8) Able to custom create folders in the SD memory card so that I can organize my shots... for example - if I am vacationing in Europe, I can create a folder for England then another for France, etc... that way, Im not half guessing where each scenery was shot from
9) I can embed date into the picture if I so choose

It lasted me way less than a year. And I treated it like gold. It starts with the lens and goes to pot fast. And neither Amazon nor Canon back up their product. This thing will last about as long as a bad television program. Do yourself a favor, seek another camera, and deal with an outlet where you can talk to someone should things go belly-up. On: 2008-09-14
My best friend bought this camera when it was just released and full price a little over a year ago, and I have been coveting it since then. When I was ready to buy a new camera I knew I wanted one exactly like hers, so I went to amazon.com, got her on the phone, and she read me the model name and number right off her camera and I ordered it immediately. She thought I would want the newer version with more megapixels, but I knew how high quality the pictures she took with 7.1 were and was sure it would be enough. I have absolutely loved owning it and now three more people we know have one. Especially with the price going down since the introduction of newer models, it is extremely affordable and takes amazing pictures. The screen is large, the buttons are easy to use, and it is compact enough to take anywhere. Everyone I know who owns one absolutely raves about it, and for good reason. I recommend a Case Logic Pockets - Medium as the best case for this camera. It is made of neoprene so it fits the camera perfectly and protects it against drops and scratches but is not bulky and cumbersome to carry around. On: 2008-09-14
I really like this camera a lot, its so easy to learn to navigate it, it has all kinds of artsy filters which make really neat/artistic pictures.
My old camera was a cannon and i had nothing positive to say about it. The pictures were mediocre, the shutter would break every 2-3 weeks and Id have to have it repaired, and just all sorts of other issues.
Basically i had sworn off ever buying a canon again... then last year a friend of mine bought this same camera, and the pictures are super crisp and it has all sorts of neat artsy filters. and all i knew is had to have it, this camera has more than restored my faith in cannon! On: 2008-09-14
I absolutely loved my camera at first, but then, like other reviews, I was cursed with the black screen of death. The camera was on, the lens was out, but the screen was completely black. When I attempted to take pictures despite the black screen, they didnt turn out. Nothing seemed to fix this problem. I do have the warranty, but again, you have to pay to have this repaired. The worst part about this is that the screen decided to go black while on my trip to NYC and I had to buy disposable cameras instead. Dont let this happen to you! On: 2008-09-10
When I got my Canon SD750, I was so excited! I LOVED IT!! But then after 2 weeks, something went wrong. The screen randomly went black. The display worked, it would take a picture but come out black when reviewed. I tried to look for solutions on the internet but came up with nothing except a lot of similar complaints from a lot of other customers. They tried to get it fixed with the Canon warranty but was told to pay a fee. WTF? I charged the battery and it worked for a second then went black again. So Im just gonna go back and return it for another brand. I really loved all of my pictures... On: 2008-09-09
BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE EVER DONE. I LIKE THE FEATURES AND THE SCREEN IS AMAZING! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAMERA AND RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE GETS IT. On: 2008-09-07
This camera is GREAT for a point and shoot. Small enough to carry around without feeling bulky. Is limited in zoom and distance night shooting. The images dont reflect the light from the flash so pictures come out really dark. Even though this camera has a red eye feature...I still seem to be getting red eyes..maybe its something Im doing wrong. Video option works really nicely. I love the different scene options that you can choose from...fireworks, night, indoor, etc. For the price, this camera is well worth your money. On: 2008-09-07
On: 2008-09-07
I was very happy with the ease of use of the Cannon SD750 camera. I was looking for a camera that would take exceptional pictures with easy to follow prompts to follow. The size is perfect also, small but very good camera. On: 2008-09-06
I bought this camera largely because my brother-in-law also has the same one and he highly recommends it.
After I have used it for a while, I think I also like it for the following reasons: (1) It is very compact and light weight; I can carry it in my belt (using the Canon camera case that is designed for the camera) whole day without feeling that it is there. (2) Because it is very light weight and compact, I can carry it where-ever / whenever I have a slight chance that I may need to use it; this means I dont miss any opportunity of taking pictures of my kids. (3) It takes nice pictures indoor in low light environment. (4) Its shuttle speed, although not the greatest, is fast enough for me to take pictures of less than cooperative subjects (like my kids). (5) It can take "reasonably" good video.
The downsides are: (1) The videos are not high-def. Luckily, I am not buying it for high-def video anyway; therefore, this doesnt really matter for me at this point. (2) The zoom is limited. Luckily, I am buying it for the convenience, not for the zoom function. This is OK with me.

This is one of the best products which i have ever used. Amazon.com has delivered on time. On: 2008-09-02
I have been nothing but extremely pleased with my new camera. The shots it takes are lovely, clear, and detailed. It could not be easier to operate and for someone who just wants to take pictures of family, friends, pets, pretty scenery, etc, this is an exceptional camera for the money. I was a little nervous about buying it because some users reported that it took blurry photos, but it only takes blurry photos if you do not allow the camera to focus (hold the button down part way)before you force the shot. Basically, skim the instructions and you will be very happy with this camera. On: 2008-08-30
This little camera takes excellent pictures!! In my opinion Canon makes the best cameras and this one does not disappoint:) The pictures (as well as movies) come out great! If you are in the market for a new camera buy this little beauty:) The only con is that when the battery charge is low you only have about 10-20 pictures left before it dies on you. It would be a good idea to buy a spare battery with this camera:) On: 2008-08-30
This is a very good camera and you can easily see what you are doing and what pictures you have taken. I would recommend this one to anyone who wants a point and shoot! On: 2008-08-29
If your looking for a canon Power Shot Digital Elph, this unit is for you! The compact design along with packed features and reasonable price (under $200) makes the SD750 a perfect gift; as I found out. I personally own an SD600 and love it! This updated design is a little larger, due to its screen but easily fits into your pocket or small purse. The processor is quicker and the viewing procedure is a little more complex, but I can understand why they did what they did. The ease of use is amazing and VERY user friendly. The one thing I LOVE about Canon is ease of use and features packed into their units!
Kodak makes a great line of cameras that are very comparable and would highly recommend them, if you are looking for something a little less expensive and / or like the Easy Share docking station.
-you wont be disappointed : ) On: 2008-08-29
I love this camera. Ive had one of the earlier versions and decided to get a new one after my four year old did who knows what to it. Luckily the prices are dropping on these things - at least since I bought my first one. This one has even better zoom and I love the larger viewing screen on the back. Glad I decided to buy another Canon. On: 2008-08-28
I bought this camera for my 30 yr step daughter. She loves it. Big clear lcd. Fits in her pocket nicely and does an excellent job of fitting into her lifestyle where her SLR leaves off. No regrets on purchasing this camera. On: 2008-08-28
Camera is for my wife. She loves it. Simple to operate and LCD is great. On: 2008-08-27
I love my Canon SD750. It is compact, easy to use, and takes great pictures. I would recommend it to anyone!!! On: 2008-08-27
I like everything about this camera EXCEPT the pictures. The left third of every shot is blurry. Ive sent it back to Canon for warranty service so Im out the shipping and we will see about the repairs. On: 2008-08-27
Pros: Very compact (slightly bigger than SD1000), large LCD (3"), good battery life (around 125 pictures), good picture quality for a point-n-shoot, face tracking is cool, easy to use options.
Cons: Grainy view through LCD in low light, No viewfinder (cannot expect it with 3" LCD), Limited scene modes (not a complaint as such), LCD is not really finger print resistant, flash can be still more brighter to cover the corners, panel buttons are smaller (not a problem for my small fingers)
Though I have listed a lot of Cons, I still give it a 5 rating since I think most of those Cons are common across all point-n-shoot cameras. This camera is definitely not for professionals who like to play with lot of manual adjustments, but this is an excellent camera to own for anyone who dont want to play with manual controls. Caution: though this camera comes with ISO1600, try to avoid using it since it causes the picture to be grainy - ISO200 thru ISO400 should be ideal for low light situations. On: 2008-08-26
This is an upgrade for my 2nd digital camera and I just came back from a vacation. Truly wonderful. Full featured. Easy to figure out and takes beautiful pictures. Highly recommend it. On: 2008-08-25
My only complaint is that sometimes I will end up with a slightly blurry picture. My guess is that the shutter speed is not fast enough...or Im not using the right setting (i.e. indoor, outdoor, portrait). On: 2008-08-25
Bought this camera for our teenaged daughter and she loves it. It is perfect for the price and for a starter camera. Although I would consider it again if our "fancier" Canon broke. On: 2008-08-23
Dont even bother trying to save a buck or two with a less expensive camera. For the price that you are paying for this awesome camera you cant do any better. You are getting an expensive camera experience for a fraction of the cost. Takes great pictures in any kind of environment. I dont even know how to use half of the features that it comes with and I take a perfect picture everytime. On: 2008-08-23
This product interfaces with my computer beautifully and makes the whole process easy. I just bought a memory card with 4 G storage so I can take 200 pictures! On: 2008-08-22
i recently bought a kodak easy share m763 and the pictures were horrible so i bought this canon camera and i love the picture quality is great and it work wonderful my mom has a canon power shot a630 and takes amazing pictures just like my new camera does and yes i would reccomed this camera to anyone On: 2008-08-19
OK, so I had a Sony sureshot, that camera has NOTHING on this lil one. What I like about it: easy to use and figure out ( for basics) Comes with an advanced users guide ( awesome) takes GREAT Night photos though I need to finetune some options.Has really long battery life. Did I mention it takes great vids too!? Love it. Highly reccommend! On: 2008-08-18
Overall, this camera is worth getting:
Pros:
-Battery life is great
-Compact size
-Fast to turn on and take pictures
-Excellent LCD screen
-Very good for pictures of people
Cons:
-Mediocre picture quality; compared to larger cameras the picture quality is really not good, but compared to similar sized cameras, the picture quality is acceptable
-Terrible at night pictures, especially with anything at a distance.

What a spectacular camera. You start off with one of the lowest startup costs the market can offer, and you are sent one of the most sleek, savvy, and technologically advance cameras out there. The Canon Powershot SD750 is one I can recommend to call, and believe me, I have gone through my good share of cameras.
Why do you want to believe this review? Im going to give you a couple of quick reasons why you should. You dont have to, and truthfully I wouldnt believe text either. However, I can guarantee you that once you hold this camera in your hands, test drive it, and see the prints it produces, you will be in love. In LOVE, I tell you.
1. You get a camera that doesnt take that much brainpower if you are not willing to dedicate yourself to learning how to use it.
Most cameras now days are going to give you too many features for a non-aficionado of photography. Just flip the camera on, and go between the "Auto" mode, and you can also dive into some specific "Scene" modes that customize the camera for a specific cause, i.e. "Aquarium" or "Kids and Pets" You can always dive in more to the camera if youre willing.
2. Affordability.
You pay around $200.00 for the camera itself, a cute case, and an SD card of suitable size. This camera is not going to cost you an arm and a leg for great prints and shots.
3. 7.1 Megapixel,BABY!
If you dont know what that means, let me give it to you simple: a good picture. Advanced version of that: A lot of dots, in essence 7,100,000 dots. A lot of dots to make up a picture, and the more dots you will need for enlargements (Bigger paper, more ink, more dots.) Thats megapixels for you.
4. Older folks CAN use this!
Me being 18, my needs are met. Imagine if you are 70 and looking for a good camera. It will be just fine. You cant screw this one up, and you are going to snap some of the best pictures ever, especially if you are still using film! Trust me, this is an extraordinary camera, which can meet a college level photo class requirement camera, all the way to the most novice of users, ages 40 and up.
Among these, you should be able to see that this camera and its easy to use interface is just the camera for you. I am not here to market this camera to you, but only here to enlighten you as to how fun and easy this camera is out of the box, and yet if you are a photographer geared to take picturesque shots, you can do that just as well using some of the advanced features, such as adjustable exposure, white balance, and advanced color swapping and warping technology.
The Canon SD750 is one I cannot go without on a daily basis. The question is if you are going to join me on having one of the best and most affordable cameras Canon has to offer? The choice is yours. See the sample photography that has been added by other users if you dont believe this text. I can attest to its quality and beauty. On: 2008-08-17
Keeping this review simple, the camera was a present for my younger brother. I am one of those people who research and research and research some more. With Price in mind an older camera was needed. Canon has always been known for its picture quality. Although this camera does not have 5x optical zoom and image stability, all the other features are top quality. for this price range you cant get anything better. On: 2008-08-17
although is not as robust as previous models it takes good pictures and it is very conveniently priced. On: 2008-08-17
Love this camera. It takes nice pictures and is easy to use. I purchased one for my daughter a few months ago and she loved it. This one is for my use. On: 2008-08-12
I have used this camera in Iraq for 9 months. On and off missions. I have taken over 2,000 pics and about 20 videos using the Elph. I am so happy with this camera and the easy to use featurs. While I was on mission my driver hit a big bump in the road and the camera fell out of my hand and broke the shutters. To go though 9 months of where and just now have it brake... Amazing. So I am buying anotherone. On: 2008-08-10
I bought this camera after reading the numerous good reviews that people have posted and I must say that this camera does not dissappoint. It is an easy to use, compact, sleek camera which takes great pictures. I am very pleased with it. My only complain about it is that it takes a couple seconds to actually take the picture - when you press the button it does not take the picture as fast as I would like - you have to hold it down for a couple seconds till it takes the picture. But all in all - great buy for your money. On: 2008-08-09
I love the clarity in images even in low light conditions. Battery seems to last much longer than previous versions of Canon and I love the new built in image stability feature. I havent seen a single blurred picture out of all the pictures Ive taken so far. Great camera! On: 2008-08-08
Great digital camera that works well. I love the size and convenience. Easy to connect to my PC for download. Great quality photos and videos. Unlike my previous camera, you can hear the sound when you replay video. On: 2008-08-08
At first I thought this was was charging my iPhone 3G, thus the five stars. Turns out after a few minutes the phone goes from "charging" to "plugged in." While it will run while plugged in, the battery doesnt actually charge. The cable does work for syncing though. On: 2008-08-07
it is small
it has a 3inch huge lcd
it has lots of shooting mods(my favorite is the one that keeps lens open for 15seconds and gets amazing pictures at night)
and it is very cheap
i am satisfied as customer who has hobby of taking pictures but doesnt want to carry huge cameras..
by the way i bought 4gb kingston sdhc(this device supports sdhc cards)(Kingston 4GB SDHC Class 4 Flash Card (SD4/4GB)) and they seem to work well together it gets more than 1000 pictures in best quality On: 2008-08-06
I bought this camera and sent to my family in India, after taking out the SD card 4-5 times, it has started giving the error "Memory card locked". It was not the SD card problem as we have tried using other memory card which were working perfectly on other cameras. After searching on internet, we found that there is a hardware problem with this series where it reset the memory card lock reader in the camera. It sucks, as I have purchased this from USA the warranty is not available in India.
Other than than it takes a while to take picture, screen is good however image quality is not that much good which I was expecting. On: 2008-08-04
I am happy with the purchase.
its a very nice piece.very light compact and clear visibility.
the best part is it is travel friendly On: 2008-08-03
I bought this a couple of months ago and I find its fantastic, its fast, responsive, takes good pictures, the screen is gorgeous, it
is small enough to fit comfortably in your pocket, and it has several cool features.
Its about as good as you can get in this price range. On: 2008-08-02
I love this camera! It takes excellent pictures in a variety of situations (dark, bright, etc.) and is very user friendly. There are lots of options to play around with, and they dont take a lot of time to learn. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants a great value! On: 2008-08-01
I had the Canon Powershot SD400 before this and thought it was great. The SD750 is better. Larger review screen and I like the playback button instead of the switch. That way every time you start the camera it is ready to shoot either pictures, portraits or movie clips. Turns on very quickly for capturing moments of my daughter. Great camera for the price. On: 2008-08-01
Perfect!! Included all necessary equipment and software. I love this product! I still see it advertised for more than I paid!! On: 2008-07-31
This is a great digital camera. It takes great pictures! I have kids and a dog and the pictures are very clear! I love the size- I can take it anywhere. It has a huge screen, so I can delete pictures immediately. Im not a very technical person, but this camera is so easy to use! Its our first digital camera and I wouldnt trade it for anything. The lithium ion battery pack lasts a long time and we bought an additional memory card (Patriot 4GB)which holds 2000+ pictures. I have no complaints about this camera! On: 2008-07-30
What a powerful camera in such a small package. I was looking for a decent smaller camera to take on vacation with me, instead of my big bulky Canon EOS Digital. Wow! Was I surprised at how awesome it was! Easy to use, small and compact, GREAT pictures AND video!!!! On: 2008-07-25
its compact for carry-on & LCD screen is large enough (at this point in time)to see pictures before printing them out. Also, the quality of pictures are impeccable! I just love it! On: 2008-07-24
The big LCD screen is the seller for someone like me who needs reading glasses. Since this is my first digital camera, I feel a steep learning curve. But both the basic & more comprehensive guides are helping me make use of the many features. On: 2008-07-24
This is a great little camera. I highly recommend it. I bought it to replace an older digital made by a different company. Wow! They have really come a long way in the technology of these little jewels. Unlike older models, it turns on instantly, has a mega-huge display in the back that is brilliant as far as its colors and brightness goes. And it takes really great pictures and video too! Ive been very impressed with the features as well -- so many! Unless you are a professional photographer or a hard-core hobbyist, this is the perfect camera for you. If you just want something you can stick in your pocket, carry in a backpack or purse, and have ready in a moments notice to take great pics, buy this camera. On: 2008-07-23
I got this camera for mostly one reason. Posting videos on Youtube. Although this camera is not good for videos. You have to buy a 8gb memory card just to hold around ten minutes of video. Which costs a lot of money. Plus the picture on the video is horrible. you have to stay completely still just to make out faces. The pictures are also blurry. If you want to use a camera for videos more then pictures then get the Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP Digital Elph. On: 2008-07-23
I have never had something delivered so fast. I ordered it Sunday and received it Wednesday with the fee shipping. My boss already had the camera and suggested I purchase it. Hers was so nice and the price was reasonable. I could have purchased a cheaper camera but wanted style and great quality so I paid more and it still wasnt expensive. Great Deal. I love Amazon! On: 2008-07-22
Once right handed, I am now left-handed, due to a massive stroke that completely disabled my right hand and arm. The Canon SD-750 was the only digital camera I was able to find that I could use with my left hand. Perfect! What a blessing! On: 2008-07-19
Bought this for my teenage daughter. She loves it and constantly uses it for photos and movies. Canon makes a great product! On: 2008-07-17
To start it off, the shipment arrived to my house in 3 days. The time Amazon claimed it would arrive. Shipping went speedy. The Canon performs better than my Sony W7. Not only thin but a great design that makes this camera great. The camera can easily be carried in your back pocket, for those who like to travel with no extra bags. Being able to zoom while shooting video is a great feature. Something my Sony wouldnt do. The quality of the pictures are superb. The 3" screen makes viewing of pictures a lot more fun. Highly recommend this item for those in the market for a 7MP camera. On: 2008-07-13
This is a great camera. Ive had it for a few weeks and it meets all my expectations. This is all I need. On: 2008-07-12
I purchased this camera about a month ago and it does just what it is supposed to do ...... take great pictures. I use this little bugger for just about anything. While it takes great pictures in general, I love to take digital macros and this one does more than a decent job. I did not have a good luck with fireworks mode .... but I guess you need a tripod for that.
It takes quite crisp and vibrant videos. In short I love this bugger. On: 2008-07-11
I bought this for my girlfriend, and we both love it. It takes great pictures, the interface is easy to work, and of course it works great with iPhoto. I highly recommend this camera! On: 2008-07-10
I bought this camera as a replacement for my PowerShot SD400 (which is an awesome camera that is still working great after 3+ years). This is a spectacular camera. It takes excellent pictures and is small enough to easily fit in your pocket. The screen is plenty big and all the extra scene settings are nice. You cant go wrong with this camera. On: 2008-07-10
We have a baby and with our last camera, I would push the button, but the actual picture was of something the baby was doing 2 seconds later. That doesnt work with an infant. This camera gets the image you want. It does much better. \\ On: 2008-07-09
This camera is truly awesome! I love everything about it and Im so glad I bought it. I have researched cameras for over two months, finally resulting in the choice of this camera. It has great options and features and is very easy to use. I love the look of the camera too. Its so stylish and awesome. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a great inexpensive point and shoot camera!!
Bottom Line : I LOVE IT!!!! :) On: 2008-07-08
This is the third canon camera we have owned. My husbands $500 canon stopped working after a little over two years. My own canon camera, which was similar to the 750 was working erratically after a couple of years as the battery was no longer making good contact. It kept giving me a message to replace the battery even with a newly charged one in place. With the high cost of repairs, shipping etc. it hardly makes sense to send it in to be fixed. So, I bought this camera and have taken it on two trips and it no longer works. When the camera is turned on there is a blank screen. The lens extends but then does not retract when the power button is pushed. The guy at the camera shops says that these are probably two separate problems. Finally got the lens back in and called canon today. We are sending the camera back to them (more expense) and are hoping they will replace it since it is less than three months old. I would look for another brand of camera if I could start over again. Canons always have good ratings but they dont seem to hold up very well. Had an SLR camera for over 25years and never had a bit of trouble with it. On: 2008-07-08
Compact and great options for smaller camera. I like the design better than Sony cameras and gave up on Sony after 3 of the later models died on us in a matter of 3 years and we hardly used them! On: 2008-07-07
So we were looking to replace a 3-year old Nikon that was in the same approximate price range as this camera (~$170). I went to target and looked at all of the choices (particularly screen size and ease of use)and decided to order this one from Amazon (for $30 less!).
The reason we chose it is one of the reasons I like it - very easy to use. All the functions are very intuitive - it doeesnt turn on by itself.
The screen on the back is big, and all of the buttons function well.
My wife loves the color quality - it is leaps and bounds beyond our old camera. The "Kids & Dogs" setting is great with the fast shutter. We used the fireworks setting on July 4th as well.
Also, power up time is super-fast compared to our old camera - you literally turn it on and its ready to shoot.
We have recommended this camera to several friends after they saw the pictures we had taken with it at my sons soccer game - the action photos were awesome.
On: 2008-07-06
Ive had this camera for a month and I love it a lot! I put it in my purse all the time because I can use it to take a nice picture anytime I want. I love all the functions, the color and design! If you look a nice and small camera, hope this camera will be the one for you!!! Enjoy ^___^ On: 2008-07-05
While the SD750 was not one of the latest models from Canon, it has more than solved my desire for a compact digital camera. I find that I use it all the time instead of carrying my S-1. The large 3.0 inch screen, on-screen display of ISO,flash, shooting mode was an unexpected plus. The only negative feature is the proprietary battery which is required to accommodate the small camera size. I simply purchased an extra and keep it charged, just in case. It would be nice if Canon could develop a "quick look" menu button for battery status. This is my 5th Canon digital on top of two previous analog APS units. I love Canon quality. On: 2008-07-05
Great product . Great service. Item delivered as ordered. Was a gift and was delivered quickly and is PERFECT!!
Would definitely do business again. Loving the Canon Powershot!! On: 2008-07-04
I love this camera. I live Canon period. Can never go wrong with their products. Takes great pics, slim camera, and big screen. On: 2008-07-03
The Cannon PowerShot SD750 is one of the nicest cameras Ive seen in a long time. The image quality is fantastic and the modes on the camera are second to none. The real reason you want this camera isnt just for its great screen, modes, or image quality.
No, you want this camera for the capability hidden within. With a little tweaking (and unfortunately, a possible warranty-voiding) you can unlock features of your camera that put it on par with the highest quality cameras available. With a third-party firmware package that can be used without replacing the stock firmware (meaning, without the possibility of permanently damaging the camera), you can record in a much higher quality file format. Not only this, but you can increase the aperture rate options tenfold, allowing you to take pictures of something as fast as a water droplet hitting a surface, or lightening. With a tripod and a script, one can even set it up to automatically take a picture when movement is detected.
This camera has a lot of capabilities that the average user has no use for, and all the stock options are more than enough for most photographers, making this camera one of the best for nearly every market. With its small size, high quality images, high usability, and extended features, I believe this camera is well worth the money. I personally keep a copy of the CHDK firmware on all my SD cards, so if I ever want to take pictures with any of the options available to me there, its always ready. Many thumbs-up to Cannon for this wonderful product. On: 2008-07-03
The Canon SD 750 camera is great! It is easy to use and has fantastic menu options. I highly recommend this camera. On: 2008-07-02
I have had several other Cannon camera products in the past, and decided that I would like to have something smaller that I could stick in my purse. Its a very cute little camera and I think it will do what I need it to do, but it is taking me alot longer to learn how to work it than I thought it would. But I am certainly the kind of person that just likes to point and shoot. There is one other thing that you should be aware of when purchasing this camera. The memory card that comes with the camera only hold about twelve pictures. So when you purchase this camera, purchase a memory card at the same time. Wish I knew this information before I bought the camera, because I received it just before leaving on vacation and didnt bother to get another memory card and was shock to realize that after twelve picture my memory card was full. On: 2008-07-01
This camera is amazing. Long lasting battery, Gorgeous pictures, easy to use, large review screen, several picture modes (which really work, Especially the "Beach" mode), Great Zoom, easy to hold, the face detection really works too. One feature I didnt know about until I had the camera was the zoom capabilities it has for pictures already taken. You can zoom on a picture just taken, with crisp imaging.
If you want a point-and-shoot camera the Canon PowerShot Elph is the way to go! On: 2008-06-28
Works as well as advertised - Ive been taking great photos and having no problems! On: 2008-06-28
Excellent. Fast. Great color. A flash that actually stands a chance of getting a good indoor photo. An f2.8 lens that does not constantly rely on the flash. On/Off in a heartbeat. A real battery. What a display! I love it. I learned about it here: [...]

I own a Nikon D80 and bought this for my wife, its a great little camera, excellent shots and color. Highly recommended. On: 2008-06-23
We love this camera. You cant beat it for the price. We had an SD 400 that I loved too but dropped and broke the retractable lens. (lesson learned: always use the strap!) So this was a replacement. It uses the same batteries as our old one so that was one feature we chose it for. Bigger screen, more features, great pictures. Love the video feature and can easily tuck it into my purse. Great for the price! On: 2008-06-22
This camera is one of the best in terms of a point and shoot camera. Simple to use and understand but still enough features to make it fun to play around with. Sleek and thin design about the size of a deck of cards which is really nice. Takes great pictures for being a point and shoot. I owned a canon a400 and now this one. I would never buy any other kind of camera for amateur shooting. My old camera went through 2 combat deployments through iraq and was exposed to high temperature and abuse but despite a few scratches from me dropping it or it getting thrown around it works just as well as the day I bought it. These things are tough as hell. I bought my parents a canon so they could stop using 35mm cameras. They were hesitant at first because they arent too confident with technology but now they love how easy it is to use. Would recommend to anyone one to purchase one of these compared to a sony or any other brand. I do recommend also, buying a screen protecter even though it has scratch resistant screen on it. thanks for reading. peace and progress On: 2008-06-22
GREAT SO FAR, BUT CANON SHOULD PUT A WARNING IN THE BOX THAT IT ONLY COMES WITH A 32 MG MEMORY CARD. AFTER TAKING 15 PIX IT WAS FULL. On: 2008-06-19
Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver)
The camera worked great for 33 days and then the display went out. It would show icons and images retained in the camera, but not the image viewed through the lens. I shipped it to Canons repair facility who honored the warranty and confirmed "that the service you requested on your POWER SHOT SD750 (SILVER) has been completed and your equipment has been shipped to you". Unfortunately they reversed some numbers in my street address and my camera may or may not arrive at my house. (I called Canon who corrected the address but Im not sure if it was in time. The most recent email from Canon still shows the wrong address) On: 2008-06-19
Great pics, good camera and great deal! BUT have gone through 3 in the last year. If you drop it or any contact with something such as sitting on it it breaks! And the warranty is worthless then. On: 2008-06-19
Its perfect, and I love the black, I bought my Mom the silver one. I bought a SanDisk 4gb with cardreader at Costco for $33.00, then I went back to Amazon and bought the PSC-55 I think its called, the case by itself. IMO you dont need the extra battery package, unless you are some passionate picture 24/7 click click guy that cant charge because he/she is far away from an outlet. On: 2008-06-18
Its definitely a camera to take with you when you have limited space in your bag/pocket. Its really small, with large bright screen, easy to use and fast to point-and-shoot applications. I used it non-stop for several days on my trip to UK, it was limited time and I wanted to shoot as much as possible. Great images, no blurriness or anything else I could read in the negative reviews. Probably those people got just a defective camera.
The famous "lense error" once appeared when I stroke the lense occasionaly while turning on, but I just switched it off and back on - it works fine.
The only issue I had was when I point to a very contrast object (like a bridge in back sunlighting) the display gives a distorted pucture (vertical red lines) while pointing. Its not influencing the image quality, just the pucture you see while pointing.
The geometry is not perfect of course, but its much better that can be expected from such a tiny camera. On: 2008-06-18
Got this a month ago or so. I had looked around for a while to find a great camera. I could not be more happy with this camera. It takes amazing pictures and video. On: 2008-06-18
This camera is the best camera i have ever owned. I love the picture quality, even though there is no image stabilization, you would never know. I love the fast shutter, and all the different camera features, such as the 3.0 lcd screen, camera functions, and ease of use. The only problem (not really a problem) is the lens. When cutting it on or off, it makes an annerving noise, but i have learned that every camera never has a smooth extending lens, and thats pure cosmetic. :)
5 STARS!!!
Cant wait to take this with me on my vacation! On: 2008-06-15
I have used the camera for one month and it is easy to use. I especially appreciate the video feature and have sent videos of family to friends. Really enjoy ease of use. On: 2008-06-14
Bought these for gifts for a recent trip to Poland. Excellent value. Multi-language choices, even Polish, came as an unexpected surprise. Very high quality images for a point and shot camera, long battery life, and decent video quality with the ability to zoom during filming. On: 2008-06-14
I purchased this camera over 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it! The manual was easy to read (which I dont normally do) and the options are beyond self explanatory. The photo quality is what most come to expect from Canon, top notch! Having small children, there is little to no delay between photos so I have yet to miss a shot I was after. The bright orange light in the front of the camera helps to gain the attention of small toddlers and even some adults before the flash goes off. Buyers should be aware that there is no view finder (small box on the back of the camera to look through) on this camera. The trade off is a large LCD screen...which is awesome! The Elph SD750 camera is also lightweight and fits easily in a front shirt pocket or back pants pocket if out at a park, on the beach, etc. The solution disk, included with the camera, make uploading and sharing photos a snap. Although the stabilization option was not included on the SD750 model, I have not found that to be a problem. The battery life is a little disappointing and a backup battery pack is a must have (a battery charger is included with the camera). An additional memory card should also be purchased as the card sent with the camera has very little space to store photos/videos/etc. I look forward to taking 100s of photos with this camera! On: 2008-06-13
Excellent little camera. Very Sturdy and lots of fun features to play with. Manual mode lets you fine tune the pictures to your likening and it takes very nice video. Very nice package overall. On: 2008-06-13
i bought this camera because it got sterling reviews from camera critic ken rockwell. the powershot did not disappoint! a total bargain for its selling price! On: 2008-06-13
Dont get me wrong, I love Canon cameras. For some reason Amazon has a host of defective 750s, the spring in the battery compartment does not work. After several replacements and a promise that they would acquire "new inventory" from the manufacturer - I am faced with the same problem. A defective camera *sigh* On: 2008-06-12
Amazon.com Shipping<< 10/10*
Amazon has got to be the best online retailer to deal with. I ordered the camera on May 5th and had it on May 8th via UPS. The camera was packaged perfectly, complete with requisite bubble wrap and (2) coupons for free Country-style Chicken Sandwiches from McDonalds.
Camera Packaging<< 9/10*
The box is huge in comparison to the actual camera, but most of the bulk comes in the form of the instruction manual. Everything fits purposefully and efficiently in the box. It makes an excellent travel case that protects the camera during trips by preventing the contents from moving around during transit.
Camera Quality<< 10/10*
I was taken aback at the pure quality that the SD750 exudes. The camera feels great in your hand, and solid as well. I felt bad getting finger prints on it! Good thing the smudges come off with a soft microfiber towel. The camera is made in Japan, which is great. Something about a Japanese-made product. Only German-made products feel as solid. The tolerances of the camera are excellent. Meticulous attention to detail was paid to the design, with no sharp edges present.
Camera Ease of Use<< 10/10*
The SD750 is flat-out easy to use. Controls are intuitive and very easy to understand, even without looking at the manual. The buttons feel solid, and reassure the user of his/her intentions with a small "beep" with each press. The zoom is smooth, and the massive 3-inch LCD is very clear and a pleasure to use. No viewfinder is offered, but in my opinion, you dont need it.
Camera Ergonomics<< 10/10*
The Canon SD750 fits in your pocket perfectly. You wont even know its there, quite honestly. Its slightly larger than your run-of-the-mill cell phone (LG 400U). It also has smooth edges, so it slips in/out of your pocket easily, with no buttons or dials protruding. Fantastic design. The cameras zoom closes flush with the camera body.
Camera Performance<< Rating 9/10*
No Image Stabilization, no problem. Make no mistake about it--if you are a clutz, opt for the SD870IS. For the rest of the 99% of people out there, you certainly dont need IS for a camera like this. Agreed, if youre shooting cars at the Indy 500, the SD750 is probably not for you.
Conclusion<< Overall Rating 9.7/10*
I mean, for $175, its hard to go wrong. I use the SD750 every day. Life never gives you a second chance to capture a specific moment in time. I also use the SD750 when I attend parties. I dont like the attention that my Canon 40D gets, so the SD750 is a welcomed addition to my arsenal. The SD750 has anything you would want in an ultra-compact camera. It fits easily in your pocket, accepts SDHC memory cards, shoots fantastic pictures, great video clips on the fly, has a HUGE high-resolution 3-inch LCD screen, has a solid feel, made in Japan, and best of all...its a Canon. On: 2008-06-11
This little camera is perfect for those who want a very portable but yet very capable quality camera. The screen is HUGE and who cares about the lack of a view finder. The screen is very bright so it works fine in sunlight. The camera is ready to shoot quickly both when you turn it on and between shots. A+++++++++ so far. On: 2008-06-09
The SD750s prime feature is its small size and portability. You cant take a picture if you dont have your camera WITH you. It takes great pictures, although the zoom lens gets soft towards the long end. Best sharpness is at the wide end, but there is some barrel distortion. 3" LCD makes it easy to judge focus and to share pics with friends. Movie mode is quick to access via hard switch on top of camera, and is pretty good quality. Ive had this camera for about 4 months, took it on several trips, use it everyday, and am quite satisfied. The SD1000 is the same camera with a more square body and a smaller LCD. On: 2008-06-09
I love my Canon PS SD750! It takes wonderful clear pictures and the LCD screen is very large and clear for previewing your shots. The battery life is very good and charges quickly. SD cards are cheap these days and I recommend at least a 4 GB card. This camera is still made in Japan and the quality is phenomenal. My old Canon pocket camera lasted me 5 years with plenty of abuse and still works like a charm! You wont be disappointed. On: 2008-06-08
After receiving a defective model from Warehouse Deals, I got the brand new version, and it is amazing. Perfect for someone wanting a little more control over their images than with a normal Point n Shoot, but who cant really go for the DSLR beast just yet. On: 2008-06-08
I love this camera, the pictures are clear, the videos are great and the sound of the videos is excellent, no more red eyes and the colors in the pictures are amazing. The battery is good but when it gets low it doesnt give waring in advance, it just says battery low and turns off in the next 5min. It charges really fast though. All my friends like my new camera and the quality of the pictures :D for more technical info read the other reviews :D On: 2008-06-08
I highly recommend this camera. This camera has essentially the same features as the new 870IS except for image stabilization (which is nice, but not really needed as long as you hold the camera still) and the wide viewing angle. This camera is able to reproduce colors accurately and you can really tell the difference. You dont realize how nice it is to have the big screen until you get the camera (you dont need a view finder). I know the camera is great, but I had to return mine for another because the LCD screen showed some obvious purple lines emitting from objects that reflected or produced a lot of light. The pictures taken did NOT include the purple lines. However, the video recordings DID have the purple lines. This is my first time returning a defective item to Amaazon and so far it seems to be pretty easy. They send me a new camera and I have 30 days to ship back the old one. They pay for shipping and hook me up with UPS lable and even the nearest UPS drop off location. On: 2008-06-07
Let me start by saying that I first bought the Fuji FinePix J50 (misnomer) for $159.00 and HATED IT. It took BAD pictures and the options were non existent. I took it back and looked again at all of the cameras available and I kept coming back to the SD750. Not only is it a good looking camera, it is FULLY FEATURED. Canon managed to pack all of the features of some of their larger cameras into this little frame. The LCD is huge and very high quality. Its easy enough to see in the sun. The low light photos were very impressive. The noise reduction built into this camera makes even high ISO photos tolerable. The battery life seems to be pretty good as well. Although BestBuy wanted $65 for an extra battery. I think Ill shop around a little more. The LCD is flush with the body of the camera so you need to be a little careful with where you set it down or make sure its not in the pocket with your keys. I would suggest a case to protect it. The controls are easy to use and if you have had a Canon in the past they will be familiar to you. I am using a SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB SD card and have no issues with write speed. I took it fishing and had no issues with one hand operation for self pictures with me holding fish. I know there are other higher MP cameras on the market with the same form factor but just because they have more MP doesnt mean they take better photos. Canon has been known for great color in their images and the newer Digic III processor really makes this camera fly. Before this camera I owned the Can S3-IS and I can say that I love this camera just as much and I can take it anywhere. Definitely a 2 thumbs up purchase. On: 2008-06-06
After buying this 35 days ago, the picture is blurry and it wont focus. The zoom wont function and I get a flashing message "LENS ERROR". Luckily, my vendor agreed to replace it even though it was more than 30 days. I have loved Canon cameras but after my Rebel XT died last month and this defective SD750, this will be my last Canon purchase.
Dont buy Canon or get a 5 year warranty upon purchase to protect your investment. On: 2008-06-05
I thought I had broken this camera. I dropped it and it hit a couple rocks before coming to rest and the bottom of a creek. It was a couple seconds before I could fish it out. The next day it turned on, but seemed messed up. A couple weeks later I powered it on once more before and its working perfectly. That is quality.
Aside from that pictures are great in good lighting and the videos pretty damn good as well. Low light not so great, but I havent found a camera at this price that is. On: 2008-06-04
SD750 is a very good camera. It is very similar to SD1000 which I previously had. I considered getting that one again after it was stolen but I chose the 750. Huge screen, small camera, great quality. Pics usually have red eyes but there is an option to manually change red eyes in each photo. Sometimes pics are blurry so your hand must be still when taking photos. Id recommend it for anyone looking for a decent priced moderate to high quality camera. Oh, and the battery lasts pretty long. The camera also zooms really far but on the computer zoomed pics will look a little blurry. On: 2008-06-04
Takes great pictures. however comes with a chip which has very little memory. so plan on buying extra memory before taking it on your vacation. easy to download and edit. On: 2008-06-03
Very nice little camera. Its small and very easy to use. Ive only had it for a few weeks but it met my expectations and then some. Highly recommend for the money! On: 2008-06-03
I absolutely love this camera! I did a lot of research before buying this camera because I wanted to make sure I got something that was a good camera for a decent price that was in my price range. I must say that for the price you cant really get a better camera. I had a Kodak before and this is far superior. Sure the Kodak was simple and easy.. but this camera has more advanced options and if youre not an idiot Im sure you can figure out how to use them. But even if you dont use the advanced options, the camera takes great pictures. I dont know why some people are saying that the pics are blurry because I havnt found that at all. The color in the pictures is especially vibrant. I also like that the lens goes in and out very quickly when you turn on/off the camera. It also looks really nice with a big screen. I was concerned that this model does not have the Image Stabilization feature that is now on cameras, but I really dont find that to be a problem so far. My last camera didnt have Image Stabilization and Im not a professional photographer so Im not sure that it makes that much of a difference for someone like me. You can get the new model of this camera with Image Stabilization and it is much more money - which for me I dont think its worth it. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this product and have no regrets. I highly recommend this camera!!! On: 2008-05-31
Best digital elph camera with a large LCD screen. Dont have a lot expectations from a 3x Optical zoom. On: 2008-05-30
I got this recently and it is amazing. Was confused between this and SD1000 but luckily went with this. Its 3" LCD is excellent and the reason why people should consider this rather than 1000 or 1100. It lacks image stabilization but I will take it for under 170$. The movies come out superb and so are the images. It looks damn sexy too. Overall very happy with the product. Forgot to add, this is my 3rd powershot and Canon has never let me down. On: 2008-05-29
I loved everything about the camera, until it broke within a month of owning it!! I went to turn it on and the display didnt work. This is the second Canon Ive had, and the second time Ive had this problem! Their repairs and customer service are great. They fixed the last camera and Im sure theyll fix this one, but I am surprised and disappointed for this to happen not only again, but so quickly (and I promise I did not drop it.) On: 2008-05-29
My Canon S500 Elph camera was a good camera. This camera is a fraction of the cost of what I paid for the 500 and it is a much better camera. I opted for the larger LCD over the view finder on other cameras. The large LCD is the way to go. I also bought a 8 GB SDHC card and it works great in this! On: 2008-05-29
I love the big LCD display; and typical of Canon, images are taken near perfection. Easy to understand and manage, even my parents know how to operate it. But yet so powerful..
On: 2008-05-28
I recently purchased this camera to take pics of my little one when he finally makes his appearance into this world. I researched a lot before finally opting for the powershot camera. I must say it was a great buy. It is a perfect size. Although i will carry it in my diaper bag, it can easily fit in my small purses as well. It is so easy to use. Because it is small, you apparently do have to charge the battery a bit more often...hence 4 and not 5 stars from me. On: 2008-05-28
I reserve 5 stars for only the best of the best. While I cant honestly give it 5 stars, I can say this is a great product. It is easy to use and is quick enough to take those silly poses that my 3-year-old makes. On: 2008-05-28
I bought this Christmas 07 and have been loving it ever since. The picture quality is crisp and clear, and I simply adore the features like face detection, color accent (lets you take creative shots by choosing the dominant color you like and making everything else black and white), macro mode (I felt like a professional, zooming in on various objects), and you can combine them to take pictures in macro mode plus color accent! Ive never had experience with photography and this camera made me feel like a pro. I took off one star, because it still could not lessen the effects of camera shakes and whatnot (but that could have been just my pretty unstable hand!).
The downside is I lost this camera a few weeks ago, and now just ordered another one! I love it so much Im willing to shed another $150+ for it! Dont hesitate to buy this sleek, powerful camera! On: 2008-05-27
The Canon SD750 is a great camera. I have owned a Digi Rebel XT for a year and wanted to have a P&S as a back-up. I am extermely happy with my purchase; the start-up time is really quick, allowing you to take pics quickly within startup. The ease of use is plentiful as well! if you want to make it technical, you can as well in creative mode. If you are going to use this camera for extended amounts of time and shooting ( more than 1.5 hours streight, i recomend having an xtra battery; but have yet to be disapointed because it was totally dead and unable to take pictures. The camera is constantly feeding hi-res picture from the lens to the massive-3" LCD; so switch the settings to turn off lens faster to extend battery life; also, turn brightness down on LCD. Pic quality is great, color great, everything about it is great! recomend this camera to anyone interested! On: 2008-05-26
I have used this camera for more than a year. I would buy it again if I am buying today.
This is a point and shoot camera. It has good picture quality, awesome color (under bright condition), able to handle high contrast scene extremely well, quick startup, short shutter lag and good handling. Flash is weak (as any small P&S). Menu is not as instuitive as the Nikon one. Make no mistake, this is not a camera for professional. This is a chore to adjust anything manually.
It got enough pixels (> 6 megapixel) for good size print. Small physcial size making it easy to carry. The killer feature is the 3" stunning LCD screen. I sometimes even take SD card from my Nikon SLR into SD750 for picture viewing. This is that good. I only wish for IS. But at this prize? this is a steal!?! As a Nikon shooter, I dont believe I am recommending a Canon. Good Luck!

From the moment I got this camera, I have been the envy of all my friends. With its sleek, slim design, picture quality beyond compare, and photo options that really let you control the picture you are taking, there is no better digital camera for someone who wants great pictures without the complications of other cameras.
First of all, the Cannon Powershot takes stunning point and shoot pictures without needing to switch from the cameras automatic settings. However, if you are feeling more adventurous, check out the cameras great photo options. It has settings that accommodate a cloudy day, different kinds of flourescent lights and different settings like the beach or snow.
Once you have taken your photo, you can view it on the cameras enormous screen. The screen delivers beautiful photo quality and allows you to see very clearly if the picture turned out the way you wanted.
Uploading pictures is simple and quick with the Powershots photo organizing program. Furthermore, the Powershot connects with iPhoto easily, which is nice for Mac users.
From now on I will always buy Cannon Powershots. On: 2008-05-26
Ive ordered a number of things on the internet, but its never gone this fast and easy before! All the steps were clear and easy to follow, and my order showed up quickly with no problems. I would order through these guys again, no hesitation! On: 2008-05-25
This camera is second to none. I have been using different kind of camera but none seems satisfying until I purchase this product. In all content, I recommend this to people out there. I promise you will have no cause to regret buying the product On: 2008-05-24
I just love Canon cameras, infact this is the 4th Canon I have in my collection. And I couldnt beleive I got this camera at this price ($165).
The service at Amazon is awesome; received the camera in under 3 days. Thanks Amazon!! On: 2008-05-24
Ive had several Canon Elfs over the years and this is by far the best one. It take the best pictures and the videos are good too. I recomend it. On: 2008-05-22
I received this camera as a Christmas present from my husband who researched all compact digital cameras and chose this one. The camera was definitely compact and attractive and the LCD screen was amazing. My problem? First off....Ive been through tech support hell. After 4-5 months of use and 90% blurry pictures, I began the telephone trouble shooting with tech support and it was determined there was something wrong with my camera. I also could NEVER get the camera shake warning to shut off (which many other people on there comment on so I know Im definitely not the only one to get this warning". I mailed my camera to Canon to repair (a 4 month old camera, mind you!) and they promptly "fixed it" and sent it back to me and told me there was a defective lens issue and that it was fine. As soon as I began to zoom again...camera shake warning again and blurry pictures. I called a higher level of support and was told to send it back in. Which I did. They couldnt fix the problem and sent me a new one. My problem now lies in the good old camera shake warning light. It was happening again on this camera unless I focused the camera directly into the sun. Any other lighting (and I live in a house loaded with windows and great natural light) whenever I zoom even the slightest bit...I get the camera shake. Ive messed with the ISOs, Ive reset the camera to factory setting. The stinking error picture does not turn off any time you zoom. Even outside! I called Canon about this yesterday and was told it was "normal". I said an error message is normal? Even when your camera book gives tips on how to correct the problem? They assured me it was. I just cant get past the glitches on this camera. Ive owned previous canons and was always super happy. To me...this camera is not what its cracked up to be. If you dont mind the flashing red lights always letting you know something is wrong...then perhaps this is for you. Ill be getting something new. On: 2008-05-22
WOW just got my SD750 today!!!! Very good camera with alot of features. Pictures are very sharp and crisp!!! I have always been a fan of CANON since my Digital ELPH S500!!! Canon has done it again!!! This compact camera is portable and small, easy to slide in pocket and is highly recommended to novice users!!! On: 2008-05-20
I wanted a camera which was small and rugged enough that I could put it anywhere (into a small bag, in my trouser pockets, etc.) which would take good pictures. The SD 750 fits the bill perfectly. For its compact dimensions, its buttons are not cluttered and its actually quite easy to hold. It takes very good pictures in decently-lit situations. Its only when you want to take no-flash photos in low-light conditions that the sensor noise begins to be problem. But that I think is a problem with most non-SLR cameras. It hasnt got image stabilization but I think its other benefits outweigh this one omission. I would highly recommend potential buyers to check it out in the flesh to see how compact it really is, and whether it fits what they have in mind. I for one, am totally digging it! On: 2008-05-20
Hi I just purchased the sd750 and i got to excited about the price do you know if it comes with a battery?? I have my old battery from the SD20 but i dont know if it would still fit! Let me know thats On: 2008-05-20
Bad white balance on outdoor images, indoor pictures are blurry and too warm. Colors are not lively, you never get the sharpness expected from a 7.1 MP camera. I owned a Sony DSC-W1 for 4 years and this camera is not even close to that. Dont let these 5 star reviews fool you. On: 2008-05-19
This camera is awesome, i just love this camera this is my 2nd same camera this to gift some one, im using this and i must say this is right product on right price. Amazon doing a good job thanks! On: 2008-05-19
I hate to post a negative review, but I feel I should in this case.
I was never able to get clear pictures on this camera, no matter the settings. Most often the pictures were blurry, unless taken of a still object (like a table), or the camera was on a tripod.
I dont expect a point and shoot to match my digital SLR, but I also cant always use a tripod either. I would hold the camera totally still (even with arms stabilized and holding my breath), and take a photo of still people, and the picture was blurry. The camera would always display the "camera shake" icon, even when I was as still as possible.
In the end, I had to return it. I purchased a Canon Powershot SD 1100 IS instead, and so far I love it and have very clear focused pictures, even of moving objects.
I chose one star because good pictures are the most important thing about a camera. Just wanted to warn others. Clearly, many people love it so maybe I got a dud. On: 2008-05-16
Before I start my review... few thoughts about compact point and shoot cameras... they should cost less than $200, they should enable you to point-and-shoot using one hand only, and they should snap good quality photos both indoor and outdoor.
This camera satisfies all of the above criterias. But the best feature that I liked is its face detection. If your subject is moving... the face detection square also moves with the subject. Cool, isnt it? And also while watching photos in this camera... if you rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical... the picture rotates also (just like iPhones). And this camera was the CNET editors choice.

My wife wanted something that was simple, small, and didnt have controls so tiny that she had difficulty with using the controls. This camera is ideal. And, I had given earlier versions to my daughters (in their 20s) and my sister. All love it. On: 2008-05-15
I liked this camera for it sleek design, it just slides into my jeans pocket. Its wide screen is really amazing. And yeah its macro point and shoot is really cool. But yes its not front runner for battery performance. Overall a good camera to take and move around for instant snaps. On: 2008-05-14
I tried both, and the sd750 is MUCH better. I just feels more rigid and hardy, and the lcd screen is humongous! I think it takes better photos at night, too. Get this one, its worth the extra couple bucks more. On: 2008-05-13
nice big LCD screen! pictures comes out great on this camera! camera is compact, thin and beautiful. i have it for over 2 years and i love it. easy to carry and easy to view pictures on it. price have drop quite a bit since i bought it. u will not be disappointed, good value and quality. very reliable too! On: 2008-05-11
I bought this camera so I could take pictures when Im flying. I needed something that was small enough to put in a pocket, but could still take a decent picture to send to my family. I gave the camera four stars because there are a few cameras around that have a higher optical zoom. For me the digital zoom isnt much good. All in all, this camera is an exceptional value and performs extremely well. If you are looking for an ultra-compact point and shoot, you should definitely consider this one. On: 2008-05-10
I bought this camera to carry in a shirt pocket and take nice pictures. It does exactly that, very nicely. I take close up pictures of flowers, outdoor vistas, and pictures of friends. I learned about the camera at [...], there is an excellent review there. I bought a spare Canon battery, but havent had much need for it, unless you take a lot of flash pictures you may be fine with a single battery. On: 2008-05-07
After much research to find a high quality, reasonably priced compact digital camera to replace my bulkier Nikon 8700, I chose the SD750. The size and feel of the camera were great as were the menus and options. However, the performance left much to be desired as the pics taken during the 3 weeks I had the camera were poor. With picture quality being the most important factor when selecting a camera, I was disappointed to see the SD750 repeatedly blurring faces of people who were not the main subject of a photo as though the camera was unable to capture different depths in the same photo. I tried multiple settings without success and consulted my local Wolf Camera for options to improve performance, but had no success. Im sticking with my Nikon 8700 which, despite its size, still takes great pics and has served me well for 3+ years.
Ill give Amazon credit for an efficient and easy refund process. On: 2008-05-05
First of all, I had this camera for a year and two (2) months, and I must say, during the time I had this camera in my hand, it was the BEST and yes I really mean that. Besides the canon we also had a sony (Cyber-shot DSC-T70/B)and as Sad as I am to say within 2weeks of gettin the sony it was sold and everyone in my household uses my canon. Beautiful shots have been taken with this camera and it has never failed, from my moving dog to jumping nephew and new years fireworks. If anyone complains bout this camera, then something is wrong with them(they proably dont know how to operate it). Im glad that I was told to buy this camera from the sales guy, so after a year and 2 months of taking wonderful pictures, I have decided to give him to my family members and move on to the sibling (790).
But If anyone wants to buy this camera, Ill tell them go for it, wonderful pictures for a point and shoot. On: 2008-05-05
Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1MP Digital Elph Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver)
I wanted a camera that had a large viewing screen, was small and easy to use. I just printed out my first set of pictures, and not only did the camera meet the criteria above, but the photos were excellent. Great camera at a great price. Highly recommend. On: 2008-05-03
I bought this camera after using an Olympus for the last 2 cameras Ive owned. I wasnt getting the quality pictures I need from the Olympus, and Ive seen other people with the Canon, which seemed to take great pics.
The only problem I encountered so far is the battery. Straight out of the box, I charged it completly. I used it to take about 10 test pictures & it said the battery was depleted. This bothered me immensely. I called Amazon, and the rep told me to charge it up again. And if I still had a problem, I could send it back. I did recharge it 2 more times & I havent had a problem with it again since.
I will say this: The camera takes AWESOME pictures. Ive managed to capture clear action photos. The pictures are sharp & the camera is very easy to use. On: 2008-05-02
I bought the camera last month from Amazon at $169.99, and am very pleased by its performance. The shooting speed is super fast, the quality of the pictures is awesome. Once I had it, I didnt want to touch my another camera any more, a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80, which I bought last summer. Overall, SD750 is a great compact camera, plus the price is really affordable. On: 2008-04-29
Ive owned Canon Powershot cameras for the last 8 years. I must say that they absolutely get better with age! This is my 4th Powershot and I am not disappointed whatsoever.
The screen is really bright and big... the extra .5 inch that makes it 3" total is really worth it. The startup time is less than a second making it ideal for getting that quick shot when you need to. The size makes it one of the best cameras for hiking or just taking with you in a theme park. It easily fits in my pocket and I almost forget its there.
The flash is really powerful for its size and I hope you take time to experiment with the Macro settings for getting real close-ups. There are a lot of modes you can play with on the camera... so its not just a point and shoot! I use the macro mode all the time to get close-ups of people and flowers. Youd be amazed what you can do with this little guy! Id highly recommend this Canon Powershot!! Josh On: 2008-04-29
After reading many reviews of this camera by other users, I was convinced that this was the right choice for me. The lack of image stabilization was downplayed because the optical zoom was so low. Outside and only in bright sun, it takes good, clear photos. As the light dims, visual noise starts to creep in, and indoors at almost any light level, it wants to use the flash.
Anything larger than a shoe box will be under-illuminated by the flash leaving the photo unbearably dark. Turn off the auto-flash to get a better shutter speed, and unless youre on a tripod, this camera will produce a very high resolution blurry picture. Not a single indoor picture has turned out clear or even acceptable so far. I took this camera with me to Rome, and wish I had gotten one with image stabilization when i got home. Colors are underwhelming unless the camera is set to manual so that you can select the vivid color setting. As a matter of fact, the only way to get close to acceptable pictures in low light is with manual settings and with a tripod. If you have a choice, get an IS model. Dont waste your money on this! On: 2008-04-29
This camera is predominantly used for taking pictures of family/friends when I go out on weekends and amateur photography for when I go on vacations or big events (ie. Mets Games). Ive taken 2-3 GBs of photos/videos under various settings and have had it for one month.
I was torn between this and the Canon A720IS. The A720IS is better in that it has Image Stabilization (IS) and a 6x optical zoom (SD750 = 3x OZ), however, is much bulkier and uses AA batteries. Both are at excellent price points. Ultimately, I went with the SD750 because of its 3" lcd, excellent battery life and compact design.
PROs:
+ 3" LCD Screen- I have never used an optical viewfinder and see no purpose in it. As such, Im glad Canon did away with it and replaced the space with a large LCD screen. The screen is bright, sharp and is easy to see in bright light conditions.
+ Compact Design- This is a tiny camera that can easily fit in ones pocket, but large and sturdy enough to feel solid when holding it. At this point in my life, a camera I can take anywhere is more important than a camera that can take professional quality photos.
+ Excellent Photo Quality- This camera takes excellent large photos under almost any condition, especially low light settings. The in-camera MY COLORS software is impressive, not just a gimmick. I use it in almost every picture I take, whether I want to emphasize one specific color or shoot a B&W picture and illuminate just one color. However, the "Color Swap" feature is useless.
+ Price Point- At $160, this camera is a tremendous value. Canon packs a lot into this package and SD memory cards are dirt cheap when compared to Sonys memory sticks.
+ Speed- Turns on and takes pictures within 2-3 seconds.
+ My Colors- The VIVID feature which accentuates a specific color in a photo (ie. a blue ocean or green grass) is solid and something you will use a lot.
+ Stitch Assist- The stitch assist software is a little elementary but does help create some incredible panoramics. Suggestion: take a few panoramic shots of your target because the pc software may butcher the stitching.
CONs:
- Flash too strong- Portrait shots taken in low light (ie. at a bar) can come out too bright because of the flash. Adjustments can be made to compensate.
- 3x Optical Zoom- Could use a stronger optical zoom, 3x is useless.
- Color Swap- MY COLORS is an amazing in-camera software set, but the Solor Swap feature within My Colors just doesnt work as well as advertised.
Bottom Line: With an excellent price point, great photos, large LCD screen, and compact size, the Canon SD 750 is a solid buy from a company that has dominated this end of the market. If youre more of a photographer and dont mind carrying around a larger camera, the A720IS may be a better alternative.

Used to have a Sony Cybershot W90. Some friends recommended this camera to me, so when my Cybershot was stolen I bought it. This camera has so many more features than my Sony did, including color accent. Its also MUCH easier to use. I HIGHLY recommend this camera. On: 2008-04-27
I am really happy with my purchase. Was looking for a replacement for my out dated nikon coolpix 2100. Was originally only looking at nikon coolpixs. But, was told that canon is the leader in point and shoot and compact cameras. I tried the canon SD1000 first and liked every thing about it except its look and feel and the fact that it had only a 2.5 inch lcd screen. Then tried this one and found it almost perfect. Takes great pictures and is very easy to use. I like the look and feel of it. 3 inch screen is nice and black color that is available. Was able to get it for $180 which is a great deal. I do wish it also had the IS feature thats about it. Also comes with lithium ion reachargable battery and charger. Great picutre | | |
