The Audiovox D2017 was just what we were looking for. This player looks and sounds great, would recommend this to anyone. The only thing we dont like about it is it take a long time to bring up pictures when in insert the SD. On: 2008-01-25
The Audiovox D2017 is a good value. Weve had it about a month. Good quality picture and easy to use. Have used it plugged in with the included AC adapter and also unplugged running off the battery. Good response either way. The sound is also reasonably good even without headphones (havent actually tried headphones yet). My only minor complaint is that you cant control the volume using the mini remote control. You have to actually get up and adjust the volume manually as needed. Not a big deal - more of a minor inconvenience. For the price this portable DVD player is a winner. On: 2007-10-10
works fine nice picture, battery life isnt enough for 2 long movies and it will not recharge from the cigarette lighter adapter included but it will play til your car battery runs down nice setup all around except I think all the others I looked at would charge from lighter adapter I rated it 4 star because of the lighter adapter not charging battery it says it wont not mechanical failure On: 2007-08-02
This is a great DVD Player. For those of you who like me have young kids and didnt get the DVD package when buying your mini van, this is a great alternative. I also purchaced the Mo Go holder and when assembled correctly it provides a sturdy holder for this player between the two front headrest. The player also comes with media card slots to veiw slide shows of pictures from your digital camera. We just went away on vacation and held out as long as we could 3 hours in the car, and then put up the DVD player. There was total silence from the kids in back car seats.....
...........Priceless!!! On: 2007-08-01

This was just what I needed....were using this strictly for long road trips and so I wanted a big screen for the kids. This included a nice case and decent ear phones. For the money, I think this was a great purchase! On: 2007-07-19
Im just about to head out on a trip with this new purchase. The price was right at $159 for the case, two headphones and remote, but I was somewhat crestfallen to learn you can NOT hang the unit from the back of a car seat with the battery connected to the unit. Dopey design. With my kids in the third row of a rental van, the liklihood that the car power adapter will reach is slim. I hope the rental will have a thrid row cigarette lighter adapter. I guess theyll just have to rest the unit between them on the seat. Picture quality looks really good (other reviewers comments notwithstanding) and sound on the earphones supplied is fine. Battery life is a bit on the short end (Audivox claims 2.5 hours), but I plan to turn the brightness all the way down and have them use headphones (less power-eating than the speakers). I was toying with the idea of getting the Panasonic LS-82 which has MUCH longer battery life. I might return this one. On: 2007-07-12
Cost cutting in many places is evident with this unit. The screen resolution is 800x480 , but not as sharp as other players with high end screen display. The unit does not have a true last scene memory function , but one that is totally useless for resuming a program from where it previously stopped. Why is this done-- cost savings ? Also, the AV input does not work .I would stay away from this player
